- 5. How do we listen? -Listen for the hi-hat (or the ride cymbal in Jazz); that tells us the beat -Listen for the snare drum: count the beat and tap the snare drum rhythm. Which hits fall on which beats? -Do the same for the bass drum and any other drums and/or cymbals
