1. We were required to do a second pitch stating the alterations to our idea, how we plan to make
our story believable and how we will convey the different aspects of our film through specific
micro-aspects. This was really useful in ensuring that we had a full, in-depth knowledge of our
idea and understanding of how we could carry it out and whether it would be achievable or not.
We effectively explained how we plan to show the boy’s transition through the use of
cinematography, the costumes of the boy and the mother, the music we plan to use, the set and
the perspective from which we will be shooting the story.
The pitch received mainly positive feedback, however, there were some concerns with how we
plan to turn our idea for a short film into a trailer. In order to respond to these concerns we
have decided to look through our idea and break it down into shots, from these shots we will
then decide which shots will be the most effective to use in the trailer and how far we can
progress and show the story in the trailer without giving too much away and, ultimately,
without revealing the ending.
