Second Life is a 3D virtual world where users create avatars to interact socially and participate in various activities. NC State has a presence in Second Life through the NC State Wolflands region, which provides educational and social spaces for students, faculty, and university affiliates. Some uses of Second Life at NC State include classes in digital imaging and integrated marketing communications, as well as accounting auditing simulations and presentations about virtual worlds.
