Second grade students and parents attended a back to school meeting. Key topics included reading being practiced every night, spelling tests on Fridays, memorizing math facts to 20, and interim reports being sent home midway through grading periods. Conduct grades of E, G, S, N, U will be recorded daily and parents should initial agendas. Dismissal procedures and absence policies were also reviewed. Medication forms and security procedures were outlined. Weekly class updates and communication with teachers was encouraged.

Practice EVERY night!
Be sure to sign your child’s agenda book.

• A spelling test will be given every Friday.
• Words will be glued in the Oak Agenda
each week.
• 10 words and 1 sentence to study…
assessment on 15 words and 2 sentences
to show application and knowledge of
phonics.

4. Math
By the end of Second Grade, students need
to have their math facts memorized to 20.
Xtra Math is a great way to practice math
fact fluency on the computer here at
school and at home.
Students are challenged to memorize the
facts as they race against the online
teacher to solve math fact equations.

• Please sign and return the folder AND the papers
to your child’s class.
• Please return all of the GRADED papers unless
otherwise notified.

• Inhalers must be kept in the school
office and cough drops are not allowed

attention of the teacher.
