Scientists follow the scientific method to test things they want to know. The scientific method involves making observations, forming hypotheses, conducting experiments to test the hypotheses, analyzing the results, and drawing conclusions. An example of using the scientific method is testing what would happen if M&Ms were put in water for 30 seconds. The students would observe the M&Ms in water, guess that the colors would come off, conduct the experiment, see that their guess was correct based on the results, and conclude that the colors came off into the water.
