This Sci Biz Tech was held in April 2021 and set by Nitesh as part of our weekly sessions. The set was meticulously compiled and hosted by the QM. Quintessence is the Quizzing Society of Zakir Husain Delhi College, University of Delhi. The society has been active for 10 years and has been actively holding Intra quiz sessions and quizzes for both school and college students in the circuit.

According to the Rayleigh scattering theory, the intensity of scattered light is inversely
proportional to the wavelength to the power of 4. This the most common explanation of why
the sky is blue in colour as the wavelength of blue colour is less as the wavelength of light
decreases in this manner only, it scatters more and we see more blue colour than any other.
A very basic and fundamental question was usually asked by the students against this theory
because according to the theory, results should have been different. Dr. Glenn Smith, in
2005 did a research on this question and present an answer to justify this anomalous result
of the Rayleigh scattering experiment.

In the summer of 1987, Mary Ellen Sheets asked her 2 sons who have came back home for their
summer vacation to help her by doing some work to run the house. They had an old pickup truck
which the boys started using to transport small pieces of furniture or objects from place to

better pay as the big transport companies don’t take these small orders.

made it felt like a neighborhood company to everyone which played a bigger role in their success
as it established trust and authority.

Ron foxcroft was a basketball referee and a struggling entrepreneur who almost got killed in Rio
when in a basketball game his traditional pea whistle failed to produce it’s sound (which all pea
whistles occasionally used to do) when a foul was conceded against the Rio team. People believed
that he is not counting the foul and considered him to be a paid referee and which followed by a
public violence and distruction of property in the stadium, and riots.
He barely survived and was determined to make a perfect pealess whistle which he did and
named it fox 40. It has now became a standard whistle world wide and has almost made pea
whistles extinct from any kind of professional use.

In December 2015, Tesla inc. became the 4th entity in the world to achieve a particular
achievement following USA, Russia and China. This can be considered as their one of the
most important achievement to reduce the price per launch even further.
By started manufacturing 85% of all the parts they use themselves, they have already been
able to reduce the price from $400 million which NASA charges to $80 million. But now they
can (in few years) reduce that cost to even lower to $40 million by the achievement
mentioned above as the cost of fuel per launch is only $200 thousand.

So using this cheap space technology, he is working on an idea through which he is planning
to raise billions of dollars of revenue as this idea does comes under an elastic market and

modified light vision goggles that a scientist designed.
Due to his invention helping in this scenario already, he is asked to assess the situation. After being
attacked himself and barely surviving, he understands that these are people whose consciousness is
being used to control these spirit like beings which are made of Bose-Einstein condonsate which is the
5th state of matter after solid, liquid, gas and plasma[extreme hot(flames)].
These artificially created bodies are killing people just by a single touch and people die in an instant
without even sppiling a single drop of blood, or not by triggering any natural causes of death.

In 1991 a person named Jay Sorensen, a struggling real estate agent was having huge financial
problems. His real estate business was going really bad and it was getting very difficult for him to
meet the daily needs. A friend of his took him out for a cup of coffee one day in an attempt to

everyone present there was facing.
Under the influence of that sizzling hot “cup” of coffee, he got an idea to create an extremely
easy solution for that problem. He offered Starbucks the manufacturing rights for that but they

local coffee shops and it eventually became so popular that today it is seen in every coffeeshop.

were asked to redesign the roadside telephone booths in as unconventional way as possible.

In a cold night in November 1997, a college student named Gary Clegg a first year student
decided not to bring his hands out of the blanket to use the remote to change the channel on
his TV.
To still being able to change the channel and not have to bring his whole arm out of the blanket
he did something on the spot that eventually lead him to make a blanket with sleeves which he
called slanket.
It became one of the fastest selling product as soon as he launched it in the market.

clean head rather than a head with patches. But shaving your head at some

hand around your head and it shaves it. But in the early designs he was having a
problem that there are areas in skull which are not smooth and the shave was
not clean and cuts still happens.
To solve this problem of uneven surfaces, he got an idea from an other everyday
object which also faces uneven surfaces while travelling and uses a part to
give a smoother travel.

David Palmer was a teacher in a massage school. He was very worried as his students wouldn’t
normally get a job as the massage industry was very stereotyped and was considered a
luxury. To solve this he studied and created an improved version of a Japanese sitting
massage routine. After experimenting it on their first client he went on to create a massage
chair and reinvented the massage industry.
In mid 1980s, his first client X contacted him to get their employees massages every week
as they were about to launch their breakthrough product and the nature of their job used
to make body really stiff after working for long hours. X is now one of the biggest
companies in the world and one of it’s co-founder is considered as a creative genius and had
a lot of interest in japanese culture (especially a specific one).

Wayne Fromm, after being on a lot of trips worldwide with his daughter (he was an only
parent) was very frustrated by experiences that he had because of the lack of ability to

tool which can solve this problem. His invention although has revolutionarised common
