This lesson plan teaches kindergarten students about math and science concepts through an art project where they sculpt bears out of model magic. Over three days, students will learn about 2D and 3D shapes, balance, and a bear's anatomy. They will watch a video, discuss bears, and use resources like books and a stuffed animal for reference as they sculpt and add details to their three-dimensional bear sculpture. On the final day, students will critique their own sculptures and the teacher will assess their participation, use of shapes, balance, and completion of the project. Photos and videos will be taken to document the process.
