- 2. School in theUK The British school system is slightly different to the Spanish. We start school when we are 4 or 5. There are 7 years of Primary School (Primary 1 to Primary 7). There are then 5 compulsory years of Secondary School (Year 8 to Year 12). Many students decide to study A Level Exams, and these students study at school for another 2 years (Year 13 and Year 14) or they go to a Sixth Form Centre.
