Scarlet Macaws can weigh over 2 lbs, build nests over 100 ft off the ground, and are members of the parrot family. They live in tall trees near rivers and coastal areas anywhere from southern Mexico to Brazil. Scarlet Macaws eat fresh vegetables, fruits and nuts, and should not be fed milk products. They have the intelligence of a 6 year old human and can learn a lengthy vocabulary. Scarlet Macaws mature at 3-5 years and can live 70-90 years.
