Narwhals are whales with spiraled horns that live in the icy Arctic seas. They can grow up to 16 feet long and weigh around 1.8 tons, with gray and white blotchy skin. Adult narwhals have one tooth that spirals outward from the left side of their mouths, which is used for courtship, obtaining food, or amplifying sonar. Narwhals live in groups of 4-20 individuals, eating fish, squid, shrimp and other marine animals. They can live up to 50 years and there are approximately 45,000 narwhals in the world today.
