The goal of any enterprise agile adoption strategy is NOT to adopt agile. Companies adopt agile to achieve better business outcomes. Large organizations have no time for dogma and one-size-fits-all thinking when it comes to introducing agile practices. These companies need pragmatic guidance for safely and incrementally introducing structure, principles, and ultimately practices that will result in greater long term, sustainable business results. This talk will introduce a framework for safely, pragmatically, and incrementally introducing agile to help you achieve your business goals.

What are the Steps to Becoming a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Trainer?Advance Agility
The Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is a collection of best practices, principles and processes that enables large organizations at the project, program and portfolio level to adopt agile methodology to deliver products of highest quality faster. Unlike other popular agile frameworks like Scrum and Kanban which are effective at team level scaling. SAFe facilitates more than two teams to associate on projects, objectives and results through SAFe Strategic Themes. These strategic themes help align the business strategy of an organization with SAFe portfolio which influences portfolio vision, value stream budgets, large solutions, ART and team backlogs.

Scrum works best with small teams that work to deliver software that is prioritized by the team backlog. It is then built-in iterative models with sprints by having the highest priority items implemented first. But when it comes to managing large organizations, a Scaled Agile Framework is adopted. Scaled Agile Framework, also known as SAFe, is an enterprise-scale development framework, developed by methodologist Dean Leffingwell. It uses a combination of existing lean and agile principles and combines them into a templated framework for large-scale projects. In the session, we are going to know why we should scale and we are going to talk about different scaling framework and in the end, we are going to talk more about SAFe.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

4. What is Agile Methodology?
Agile is an iterative approach to project management and software development where it
breaks down large and complex projects into smaller parts that are more manageable. That
helps teams deliver value to their customers faster. An agile team delivers work in small, but
consumable, increments.
5. What is Agile at Scale ?
Agile product development at team level Scaling agile is applying the practices values,
principles and mindset of agile beyond teams at
an enterprise level
6. Why SAFe ?
More than 1,000,000 individuals in 20,000 companies around the world have acknowledged the
benefits of scaling agile with SAFe. Aggregated customer case studies have shown the following
typical results
7. Introduction to Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
Scaled Agile Framework, also known as SAFe, is an enterprise-scale development framework. It uses
a combination of existing lean and agile principles and combines them into a templated framework
for large-scale projects.
● Originally called “Agile Enterprise Big Picture”, SAFe was released by methodologist Dean
Leffingwell in 2011.
● Designed to help business continuously, and more efficient deliver value on a regular and
predictable schedule.
● SAFe was formed around three primary bodies of knowledge: agile software development, lean
product development, and systems thinking.
12. Essential SAFe
Essential SAFe is the smallest configuration of the SAFe methodology, designed to support smaller
organizations with up to 50-125 practitioners.
It includes a set of roles, activities, and artifacts that are essential for Agile development. The main
components of Essential SAFe are:
● Agile teams: These are cross-functional teams that are responsible for delivering high-quality products
incrementally and iteratively.
● Agile Release Trains (ARTs): ARTs are a group of Agile teams that work together to deliver a common
goal or product.
● Product Owners: They are responsible for defining and prioritizing the features of the product backlog.
● Product Manager: They provide guidance to the Product Owner and ensure that the product backlog
aligns with the business goals.
● Agile Portfolio Management: This is the process of aligning the Agile development with the strategic
goals of the organization.
14. Large Soultion SAFe
Large Solution SAFe builds on the core principles of Agile, Lean product development, and DevOps to
provide a comprehensive framework for managing complex and multi-team projects. It emphasizes
collaboration, continuous improvement, and rapid delivery of high-quality products.
Overall, Large Solution SAFe is designed to help businesses improve their ability to deliver value to
customers in a rapidly changing and competitive marketplace, while maintaining high levels of quality and
productivity.
16. Portfolio SAFe
