This document discusses the need to transition Ayurveda from an eminence-based approach to a science-based, evidence-based approach called SBEBA (Science Based Evidence Based Ayurveda). It argues that SBEBA was developed in 2012 based on the scientific principles of Ayurveda. It proposes establishing residency programs, physician training programs, and a government administration body to oversee the implementation of SBEBA standards and ensure quality education, research, and treatment according to Ayurvedic science. The goal is for SBEBA to prove the scientific validity of Ayurveda and ensure the highest quality healthcare globally.

Medical Technology Tackles New Health Care Demand - Research Report - March 2...pchutichetpong
M Capital Group (“MCG”) predicts that with, against, despite, and even without the global pandemic, the medical technology (MedTech) industry shows signs of continuous healthy growth, driven by smaller, faster, and cheaper devices, growing demand for home-based applications, technological innovation, strategic acquisitions, investments, and SPAC listings. MCG predicts that this should reflects itself in annual growth of over 6%, well beyond 2028.
According to Chris Mouchabhani, Managing Partner at M Capital Group, “Despite all economic scenarios that one may consider, beyond overall economic shocks, medical technology should remain one of the most promising and robust sectors over the short to medium term and well beyond 2028.”
There is a movement towards home-based care for the elderly, next generation scanning and MRI devices, wearable technology, artificial intelligence incorporation, and online connectivity. Experts also see a focus on predictive, preventive, personalized, participatory, and precision medicine, with rising levels of integration of home care and technological innovation.
The average cost of treatment has been rising across the board, creating additional financial burdens to governments, healthcare providers and insurance companies. According to MCG, cost-per-inpatient-stay in the United States alone rose on average annually by over 13% between 2014 to 2021, leading MedTech to focus research efforts on optimized medical equipment at lower price points, whilst emphasizing portability and ease of use. Namely, 46% of the 1,008 medical technology companies in the 2021 MedTech Innovator (“MTI”) database are focusing on prevention, wellness, detection, or diagnosis, signaling a clear push for preventive care to also tackle costs.
In addition, there has also been a lasting impact on consumer and medical demand for home care, supported by the pandemic. Lockdowns, closure of care facilities, and healthcare systems subjected to capacity pressure, accelerated demand away from traditional inpatient care. Now, outpatient care solutions are driving industry production, with nearly 70% of recent diagnostics start-up companies producing products in areas such as ambulatory clinics, at-home care, and self-administered diagnostics.

Letter to MREC - application to conduct studyAzreen Aj
Application to conduct study on research title 'Awareness and knowledge of oral cancer and precancer among dental outpatient in Klinik Pergigian Merlimau, Melaka'
1. Journey from Eminence to Evidence in Ayurveda
- Role of Government
Dr. Remya Krishnan MD PhD(Ayurveda)
2. Eminence Based Medicine
• Relying upon the opinions of so addressed “legend” instead of
basement science in medical practice .
• Unmistakable belief and love for formulations, treatments and
Panchakarma procedures instead of Science.
• Case experiences of benefits outweighing risks at the time of
application favour this love affair eternally.
• Legends are not to be questioned is the current belief . Legends can
never be wrong . One should be humble enough to surrender
intelligence to legends.
3. Ayurveda- The Science Based Medicine
• Ayurveda is Science Based Medicine and NOT Medicine Based Science
• Hunting for medicine in the label of research in Ayurveda is like hunting
for nail in the workshop of carpenter.
• In Ayurveda , research is meant for “HOW TO CHOOSE’ and not “ WHAT
TO CHOOSE”.
• Right now this fact about Ayurveda is unknown to the world .
• Today as so addressed Ayurveda experts follow medicine led empirical
experiences with medicines and treatments in place of innate logics in
Science , current medical consensus of Ayurveda is not scientific and
reliable one.
4. A revolutionary transformation- SBEBA
• A revolution of transformation from Eminence to evidence of logics from
science is inevitable for global recognition of the system.
• Science Based Evidence Based Ayurveda (SBEBA ) is structured,
developed and established in 2012 based on the logics and principles of
Science Based Medicine of Ayurveda.
• Both Basic and Clinical research of SBEBA are continuing in all this period
by both the pioneers as well as the trainee physicians from all parts of
the world
• Trasparency and reproducibility of the logics proven and demonstrated in
SBEBA is being established over these eight years by many physicians
repeatedly all over the world .
• Hence SBEBA deserves to get wide span of attention and recognition by
the Government
5. Need of residency program in SBEBA
• Current professional education of BAMS is deeply flawed and
substandard to initiate the intended knowledge and practice owing
to the adoption of experience of Eminence Based Medicine and
empirical treatment led benefit – risks as evidence.
• For this reason BAMS community should undergo a specialised
residency program to develop highly specific knowledge and skills of
SBEBA to standardise and streamline their decision making led by
science .
6. Physician Training Program
• The pioneers of SBEBA ( Dr. Rajkumar KC and Dr. Remya Krishnan) could
select three to five core faculties from every Ayurveda medical institute
and provide SBEBA training for a period of one year in a Government
recognised cerfied program .
• The pioneers of SBEBA should be allowed to modify the BAMS and MD
curriculum to restructure based on SBEBA and culture a mode of
orientation of faculties of all disciplines led by SBEBA so that the finest
quality of education, research and treatment could be ensured in every
Ayurveda teaching institute of the country.
• A clinical audit and prescription audit are to be initiated in every
Ayurveda clinic, hospital , both Government and private to ensure that
SBEBA standards of quality control are strictly followed by them which
will only ensure that the best quality scientific decisions are reaching
patients
7. Physician Training Program (PTP)
• A PTP in SBEBA is to be made mandatory with evaluation of
implementation of the same at regular intervals for reniewing
the licence of practice of qualified Ayurveda practitioners .
Those who are disqualified should be given two more chances
to qualify to resume their clinical practice.
• Practitioners who neglect this quality control procedure should
be legally punished as it is unethical and antisocial.
• SBEBA oriented training is required for all paramedical staffs
too working in all Ayurveda hospitals
8. Government Administration Body for SBEBA
• To ensure the reliability and authenticity of PTP , co-ordination and
regulation from a governing body in National level is inevitable. This
body should be unbiased by all means including that of political /
business ones and ensure unbiased supervision of the conduct of
the program .
• The data of patients and physicians which ensure quality of training
, research and medical care by SBEBA in every Ayurveda hospital
and teaching institutes could be reviewed from time to time by this
governing body and authentic information regarding the same are
to be provided to public by Government itself.
9. TRANSFORMATION inputs
• A complete restructuring of existing curriculum of BAMS and MD with
appropriate orientation in imparting specific and specialised knowledge
and skills of SBEBA are crucial to initiate quality standards in Ayurvedic
research, education and clinical practice.
• The central organisation appointed for supervision of SBEBA activities in
the country should also have state wings to attend the state wise
activities of clinical audit, adoption of SBEBA standards in teaching,
research and clinical practice. The supervisory bodies are to stay
unbiased by all means and should be free from all kinds of vested
interests
• Every journal and publication of Ayurveda is to be oriented based on
SBEBA to be addressed as Ayurveda journal / research paper
10. SBEBA FOR BEST TOMORROW OF AYURVEDA AND
HIGHLY EFFECTIVE GLOBAL HEALTH STRATEGIES
• SBEBA is the only way for emergence of scientific Ayurveda as it is .
• SBEBA can only prove the scientificity , transparency and predictability of
Ayurvedic Medicine today and tomorrow.
• SBEBA can only ensure the finest standards of quality health care by
Ayurveda .
• SBEBA can only ensure the productivity and man days of people and thus
contribute to financial prosperity of all citizens and thus development of
the nation
• SBEBA can provide immediate results , does not need huge investments
and does not need long wait for solutions in the events of national
healthcrisis .
11. WHY SBEBA
To deal with problems of man, Science of man is mandatory .
SBEBA deals with Science of man in understanding and solving all the
diseases of man
SBEBA does not go for the compromise of temporary benefits
outweighing risks , its one and only focus is reversal of problem and
attainment of health .
SBEBA is required in all diseases where “treatment is intended” and not
adjustment
To implement SBEBA , the Government must show attitude and receptivity
towards the same FOR THE PEOPLE – FOR THE NATION – FOR HUMANITY
THANK YOU
