Dark circles under the eyes may look purple, blue, or dark brown — and you may be wondering if this calls for a serious health problem. The answer is no, but many patients feel that dark circles under the eye area make them look tired, older, and unhealthy.
Dealing with wrinkles is a natural part of the aging process - but that does not mean you have to let them take over. You can’t stop time, but there are steps you can take to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, frown lines, and sagging skin.

The good news is, there is a vast range of great non-invasive skin treatments that can transform your skin without surgery or extensive downtime. Some remedies don’t even require needles!
Here are some of the non-invasive procedures that will take years off of your face:
Although we all know that skin changes as we age, it's not always easy to accept, especially as those changes become more pronounced. As the years pass by, the skin begins to lose collagen and elastin, making it thinner and sagging. Skin laxity is most prevalent on the face and neck, but it can occur anywhere in the body, including the arms, abdomen, and thighs.
We will experience some amount of skin laxity as we get older. Still, the degree of laxity depends on many factors, including sun damage, exposure to pollution, diet, weight fluctuations, and lifestyle.
Along with acne and skin aging, enlarged pores are also one skin problem that tops the list. While they are entirely a cosmetic problem, some people find it annoying, and others think they would look better if they had smaller pores.
Pores are tiny openings in the skin that releases oils and sweat. They are also connected to your hair follicles. If your pores appear more prominent, it may be because of acne, increased sebum production, sun damage, and non-comedogenic makeup.
Although you can’t change the size of your pores, here are some ways to help minimize their appearance:
Most of us head straight to our vanity tables for results of various skincare products. Although these skincare products are essential for skin health to cleanse, prevent, repair, and treat, what you eat affects your skin. As scientists learn more about diet and the body, it is increasingly evident that what you eat can significantly contribute to your health and skin aging.
Processed foods or foods high in sugar and fat can cause dry skin, acne, oiliness, and dark under-eye circles. But foods packed full of superfoods and lean, high-quality proteins are best for supporting skin health.
Chemical peels are one of the most popular cosmetic procedures as they can remove signs of aging, some types of acne, and skin discoloration.
Whether you receive a chemical peel to diminish signs of aging or treat a skin condition, you can see fewer fine lines, more even skin tone, brighter complexion, and smoother skin.
If you have never had a chemical peel, you may be wondering what this treatment is. It is a type of treatment that uses chemicals including salicylic acid, glycolic acid, trichloroacetic acid to peel layers of the skin, revealing healthy, new skin below. Depending on your specific needs and the recommendation of your dermatologist, you may choose a chemical peel that ranges from very light to improve uneven skin tone or other mild symptoms. You may also choose a chemical peel that goes deeper to address fine lines, wrinkles, and scars. The three types of chemical peels include:
Can’t imagine leaving the house without makeup? We understand. With blushes to foundations to mascaras and everything in between, have you ever wondered what’s under all that makeup? Specifically, how are all these beauty products affecting your skin, especially when you layer them every day?
While we understand your love for makeup, using it every day can trouble your skin in many ways. Makeup contains a lot of chemicals and components which may or may not suit your skin type. Some of these components can even cause irritation, itchiness, and sometimes untimely aging.
Whether you take a minimal approach when it comes to a beauty routine or devour any skincare and make-up advice you can get your hands on, one thing remains universal: we all want to know the very best practices for achieving healthy, radiant skin.
While innovation is a beautiful thing, it seems these days there’s always a new ingredient, technique, or product on the scene that needs to be added to your skincare routine. It’s easy to assume that getting healthy, glowing skin requires overhauling and probably emptying your bank account. You can make significant differences in your skin with some minor changes to your routine.
When so many factors play into the condition of your skin tone and how even or uneven it is, achieving the buttery smooth complexion may be a distant dream.
Not all dark spots are created equal. They stem from three sources which are UV exposure, estrogen fluctuations, and injuries. UV exposure can trigger excess skin cells called solar lentigo or sunspots, or age spots. The cells that are pigmented with melanin cluster together, forming a circular mark a shades deeper than your skin tone. Estrogen fluctuations also cause uneven skin tone—due to pregnancy or birth control pills stimulate melanocyte cells to work overtime and create melasma, an unwanted pool of melanin in the skin. Injuries such as a curling iron burn or swollen pimple can also jump-start melanin production, leaving a stubborn mark called post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
It’s no secret that your skin changes as you age. What you do for your skin or against your skin will have ramifications over time, no matter what. Whether you notice the loss of elasticity or volume, a few fine lines and discoloration may appear where you didn’t use to have it. These changes can be a bit stressful every time you navigate a new skincare routine. The products that worked in you when you were in your 20s may lose their efficacy, and you constantly have to adjust your regimen based on your skin’s current needs.
Are you washing your hands too much because of covid 19KarlAnthonyBusa
Hand hygiene is an essential public health measure in fighting any sickness or disease such as COVID-19. More than ever, people are urged to wash their hands regularly and diligently with soap and water to help prevent coronavirus spread.
With more washing, sanitizing, and disinfecting, the skin might become dry and develop dermatitis. People who get rashes from repetitive handHOTO -washing may experience symptoms of redness, flaking, blister, cracking, chronic skin thickening, pain, and itching. These skin changes usually appear at the back of the hands and the spaces between fingers. The skin on the palms is much thicker and therefore more resistant to irritants and allergic rashes.
These days, wearing a mask is essential to protect yourself and others. However, wearing it for an extended period can sometimes be a pain — literally.
According to a Journal issued by the American Academy of Dermatology, more than one-third of frontline healthcare workers reported adverse skin reactions after wearing N95 masks daily for several months. In May 2020, they recorded the highest incidence of acne, facial itch, and rash.
Since masks are essential, whether frontliner or not, we must do whatever we can to overcome concerns about wearing them. If you find that wearing a face mask is causing a skin problem like a rash, acne, or other irritation, you may be able to treat it yourself. Here’s some expert advice from dermatologists and doctors on the frontline of the coronavirus pandemic:
This year, more and more people with eczema are dealing with extreme flareups. Between stress, face mask irritation, and frequent handwashing due to COVID-19, many sufferers are having a tough time managing the symptoms right now.
Swimsuit season has come, and no matter our age, we all want to feel comfortable in our skin, especially on warmer days.
We understand how important it is to be confident while you’re enjoying the beach this summer. That’s why SkinDoctors offer a revolutionary body contouring treatment called CoolSculpting or Cryolipolysis.
CoolSculpting or Cryolipolysis is a cosmetic treatment that removes areas of body fat. It targets hips and love handles that are exercise and diet-resistant or fats that are hard to lose.
Battling with the most common summer skin issuesKarlAnthonyBusa
Many of us are ready for summer and all it has to offer because it means more fun under the sun. But what do you when all of that summer fun starts taking its toll on your skin? It’s just a simple fact that the sun can damage our skin and cause various skin problems.
Keep your summer bump, rash, and itch-free by using these tips to prevent unwanted skin problems:
Hot and humid days can be uncomfortable enough, but add a skin rash into a mix of sweat, and you’ll likely find yourself concerned. Thankfully, heat rashes are usually not caused for alarm. It is also not uncommon for people to get heat rash at least once in their life. But if you are careful, you can help prevent them.
Like sunburn, a heat rash, also known as prickly heat or miliaria, is a red rash on the skin. Compared to sunburn, heat rash can cause small, itchy, fluid-filled bumps on the skin, and it can be the skin that was never even exposed to sunlight. A prickly, burning, or itchy sensation may also accompany a heat rash.
The sun is coming out, and spirits are lifting higher. Most of us look forward to summer because it’s the time of the year where everyone goes to the beach and soaks up in the sun.
Apart from your swimsuit, beach towel, and flip-flops, sunscreen should also be part of your checklist. Maybe you think you are applying your sunscreen correctly, or maybe you think you don’t need it. If you can’t stay out of the sun, sunscreen or sunblock are the best ways to protect your skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays.
Here are some myths about sunscreen that you should know:
The difference between physical and chemical sunscreenKarlAnthonyBusa
As the summer starts to set in, so is the debate on which sunscreen you should be using. Specifically, the debate is about the benefits of chemical versus physical sunscreen.
Sunscreen works by combining organic and inorganic active ingredients that protect the skin against sun rays. Sunscreen may come in various forms, including sprays, liquids, lotions, powders, and creams.
There are two main types of sunblock available. These are physical and chemical sunscreen. Understanding how these sunscreens are made and the ingredients they contain can help you pick one that is best suited for your skin type.
Whether it is sunny, cloudy, or rainy, any time spent outdoors leaves your delicate skin vulnerable to sun damage. You may be spending a hot summer day at a local resort or simply sitting outside during your lunch break; it is vital to protect your skin with the right sun protection options.
We’ve heard the importance of applying sunscreen since childhood, but how does sunscreen work to protect our skin?
Natural sunlight contains, among other things, UV photons. These photons are shorter in wavelength and higher in energy than visible light. Because they fall outside the visible spectrum, the human eye cannot perceive them. When it comes to sunlight, what you can’t see will hurt you. When these high-energy photons strike your skin, they generate free radicals and can also directly damage your DNA. Over the short term, this UV-induced damage can produce a painful burn. Over the long term, it causes premature aging of the skin and new skin cancer cases each year.
Many things can cause our skin to age. After all, there’s no harm in having wrinkles, and few facial lines can be endearing and add character to your face. But it’s no secret that many would prefer to keep them in check.
One thing that we cannot change is the natural aging process. As time pass by, we all get visible lines on our faces. Naturally, you lose some of its elasticity, and you notice your skin becoming drier and thinner.
Without medical or surgical intervention, it can be challenging to reverse the appearance of wrinkles. The good news is, there are steps you can take and lifestyle changes you can make to slow down their appearance.
Here are ways to keep your skin young and reduce premature skin aging:

Flu Vaccine Alert in Bangalore Karnatakaaddon Scans
As flu season approaches, health officials in Bangalore, Karnataka, are urging residents to get their flu vaccinations. The seasonal flu, while common, can lead to severe health complications, particularly for vulnerable populations such as young children, the elderly, and those with underlying health conditions.
Dr. Vidisha Kumari, a leading epidemiologist in Bangalore, emphasizes the importance of getting vaccinated. "The flu vaccine is our best defense against the influenza virus. It not only protects individuals but also helps prevent the spread of the virus in our communities," he says.
This year, the flu season is expected to coincide with a potential increase in other respiratory illnesses. The Karnataka Health Department has launched an awareness campaign highlighting the significance of flu vaccinations. They have set up multiple vaccination centers across Bangalore, making it convenient for residents to receive their shots.
To encourage widespread vaccination, the government is also collaborating with local schools, workplaces, and community centers to facilitate vaccination drives. Special attention is being given to ensuring that the vaccine is accessible to all, including marginalized communities who may have limited access to healthcare.
Residents are reminded that the flu vaccine is safe and effective. Common side effects are mild and may include soreness at the injection site, mild fever, or muscle aches. These side effects are generally short-lived and far less severe than the flu itself.
Healthcare providers are also stressing the importance of continuing COVID-19 precautions. Wearing masks, practicing good hand hygiene, and maintaining social distancing are still crucial, especially in crowded places.
Protect yourself and your loved ones by getting vaccinated. Together, we can help keep Bangalore healthy and safe this flu season. For more information on vaccination centers and schedules, residents can visit the Karnataka Health Department’s official website or follow their social media pages.
Stay informed, stay safe, and get your flu shot today!
Couples presenting to the infertility clinic- Do they really have infertility...Sujoy Dasgupta
Dr Sujoy Dasgupta presented the study on "Couples presenting to the infertility clinic- Do they really have infertility? – The unexplored stories of non-consummation" in the 13th Congress of the Asia Pacific Initiative on Reproduction (ASPIRE 2024) at Manila on 24 May, 2024.
Lung Cancer: Artificial Intelligence, Synergetics, Complex System Analysis, S...Oleg Kshivets
RESULTS: Overall life span (LS) was 2252.1±1742.5 days and cumulative 5-year survival (5YS) reached 73.2%, 10 years – 64.8%, 20 years – 42.5%. 513 LCP lived more than 5 years (LS=3124.6±1525.6 days), 148 LCP – more than 10 years (LS=5054.4±1504.1 days).199 LCP died because of LC (LS=562.7±374.5 days). 5YS of LCP after bi/lobectomies was significantly superior in comparison with LCP after pneumonectomies (78.1% vs.63.7%, P=0.00001 by log-rank test). AT significantly improved 5YS (66.3% vs. 34.8%) (P=0.00000 by log-rank test) only for LCP with N1-2. Cox modeling displayed that 5YS of LCP significantly depended on: phase transition (PT) early-invasive LC in terms of synergetics, PT N0—N12, cell ratio factors (ratio between cancer cells- CC and blood cells subpopulations), G1-3, histology, glucose, AT, blood cell circuit, prothrombin index, heparin tolerance, recalcification time (P=0.000-0.038). Neural networks, genetic algorithm selection and bootstrap simulation revealed relationships between 5YS and PT early-invasive LC (rank=1), PT N0—N12 (rank=2), thrombocytes/CC (3), erythrocytes/CC (4), eosinophils/CC (5), healthy cells/CC (6), lymphocytes/CC (7), segmented neutrophils/CC (8), stick neutrophils/CC (9), monocytes/CC (10); leucocytes/CC (11). Correct prediction of 5YS was 100% by neural networks computing (area under ROC curve=1.0; error=0.0).
CONCLUSIONS: 5YS of LCP after radical procedures significantly depended on: 1) PT early-invasive cancer; 2) PT N0--N12; 3) cell ratio factors; 4) blood cell circuit; 5) biochemical factors; 6) hemostasis system; 7) AT; 8) LC characteristics; 9) LC cell dynamics; 10) surgery type: lobectomy/pneumonectomy; 11) anthropometric data. Optimal diagnosis and treatment strategies for LC are: 1) screening and early detection of LC; 2) availability of experienced thoracic surgeons because of complexity of radical procedures; 3) aggressive en block surgery and adequate lymph node dissection for completeness; 4) precise prediction; 5) adjuvant chemoimmunoradiotherapy for LCP with unfavorable prognosis.

hair in the treated area.
2. No More Ingrown Hairs
Ingrown hairs can be painful, and they often leave your skin inflamed and
irritated. Unlike waxing, shaving, and threading, laser hair removal does not
cause any ingrown hair as it permanently damages the hair root, preventing it
from growing new hairs.
7. 3. Quick Treatment and No Downtime
Laser hair removal does not require real downtime. Depending on the area to
be treated, the session lasts for about 20 to 60 minutes. After your treatment,
you can immediately go back to your everyday routine.
8. 4. Lasting Results
Most patients remain hair free for months. When some hair regrows, it will
most likely be less noticeable. To keep the area free of hair, a patient may
need maintenance laser treatments.
9. 5. Pain-Free Treatment
Contrary to what others believe, today’s laser hair removal is designed to keep
the patient comfortable during the procedure. The sensation you will feel largely
depend on the area to be treated. The majority describes a tickling or tingling
sensation as light pinching, but most patients say that the process is relatively
painless. If you have low pain tolerance or especially sensitive, a topical
treatment can be applied by dermatologists to make you more comfortable.
