         under contract to the District Department of the Environment.
What Is the Sustainable Energy Utility?
     • Clean & Affordable Energy Act (2008)
     • Ratepayer-funded, privately operated
                      $7 million   in FY 2011
                     $15 million   in FY 2012
                   $17.5 million   in FY 2013
                     $20 million   in FY 2014

     • Performance-based contract to DDOE
      • Designed to help District households, businesses,
        and institutions save energy and money through
        energy efficiency and renewable energy programs.

         745 small commercial and institutional facilities served

          169 single-family homes served
   • Budget Summary
         30% of budget spent on low-income services
         75% of budget spent with DC-based businesses

           3,826 low-income multifamily residences, received energy saving
           measures
           $4,500,000 million in direct contracting to 40 CBE contractors
           23,415 MWh annual reduction in electric consumption and 4,080 Mcf in
           gas consumption
