Project Description:
This project provides solution to the Future contract activities (e.g: FOS, BIMAS, Accounting and
Commissions) and purpose to implement the new tariffs to the Futures trading.
According to new tariffs it is required to modify the way of how our commission is charged to the clients
and to charge independently the brokerage fees. Brokerage fees and bank commission is charged at the
opening and at the closing instead of closing as of today.
For new fees and commissions, it’s necessary to have new transactions who managed flat fees,
securities fiduciary call/time deposit, options and periodic account fees and commissions. This system
must be able to integrate and define new type of fees. The new system must be defined a group of
standard fees and commissions and different ‘particular’ conditions.
For this reason new set of transactions have to be created as follow:
Transactions for type of fees/commission
Transactions for fees settings
Transactions for flat fees settings

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This project is related to flat form replacement where HSBC mainframes legacy system is being replaced
by Avaloq. This is very huge project where I have worked in Analysis of the systems, migration, Business
reconciliation, Avaloq parameterization tasks like workflow and context actions, and also worked in
Avaloq Scripting like Report writer. Testing of this project is done in phase wise where in each phase a
specific part is deployed in SIT/UAT regions. There is a specific team dedicated for SIT testing where they
perform testing manually and also using some automation tools.

Migrating Mainframes data in to Avaloq system. .

In Barclays they were using Avaloq 3.7 version currently in production for Wealth Management domain.
5. Currently I am working in Avaloq 4.1 Upgrade project. At the initial stage of this project, I worked in tasks
like replacing obsolete fields for the DDIC which are in scope. At the later I was completely involved in
Upgrading Fiduciary Deposits (Monetary Transactions). For 3.7 release in Barclays They are using
‘Contract’, in 4.1 release as per the Avaloq guidelines, it needs to be replaced with Fiduciary Deposits.
All the Fiduciary Time and Call deposits modules like, Placement, Unwind, Redemption, Close, Interest
Rate Change, Interest Payment, Contract Modification are in scope.
Fiduciary Deposits is in scope only for Geneva region. Avaloq Model bank and some Contract
functionalities have been considered for Fiduciary Deposits in 4.1 release. In Fiduciary Deposits upgrade,
I worked in Workflows, Context Actions, Security, Cost Rules, and Interest Pricing Rules, Order
Validations and Interface forms.
Workflows:
1) For Redemption client order the status should be moved to directly ‘ Ready for print’ without
matching verification required.
2) Modify Workflows for error handling, technical workflow actions exists for each order type, when
an order that is triggered through Interface or Context actions will move in Error State in case of
invalid input, I had added rules to move the orders in Error state to respective Valid workflow
status. Eg: Placement order should be moved to (TD: Inbox Customer Order).
Context Actions: In context action source Task Templates were called, these templates are used to
create Counter trade for Placement and Closed order, Group, Ungroup orders. As these templates
shouldn’t have access to all users, they need to be secured for respective user. As this is a hectic task,
we had replaced Task templates with procedure, where in procedure without using template task is
executed through TASK_EXEC DDIC.
Security: Workflow, Context actions, Meta type and Task Template has been secured for a Front and
Dealer.
Cost Rules: Modified cost rule for orders whose order type is ‘Unwind’, in Unwind client order by default
in cost window ‘Unwind Penalty Fee’ book kind should be displayed, so that user will enter penalty cost
for unwinding order before Maturity.
Interest Pricing Rules: For Fiduciary Deposits placement order, commission rate should be mentioned
and for Countertrade Interest rate should be given. In 3.7 version for Contract these fields are populated
using cost rules automatically based on Container and Asset fields. As per community document 4213
4.1 version, we need to use Interest pricing rules to populate Base Commission Rate, Commission rate,
Interest Rate fields.
Responsibilities:

As I work for HCL which is Vendor of Barclays, task will be communicated through JIRA.
Analyze JIRA, Develop, and Review and Deploy the code in SIT. .
