Sarah's Circle, a nonprofit that provides services and support for homeless women in Chicago, hopes to expand their facility to meet growing demand. Their current drop-in center serves about 100 women daily but need is much greater, as women are more susceptible to homelessness than men for reasons including lower wages. The organization has grown from a drop-in center in the 1970s to offering housing assistance, case management, referrals and programming tailored to homeless women's needs. They aim to place a greater focus on helping clients find permanent housing through an expanded staff of a housing coordinator and manager.
