INTRODUCTION
Saudi National Lamps and Electricals Co. Ltd. "Sanlec" is a newborn company promising a great
future. Located in the Industrial City of Al-Ahsa, Al-Oyoun Area; Sanlec is an Economic Offset Program
establishing state-of-the-art facilities that manufactures CFL (Compact Fluorescent lamps) and HID
(High Intensity Discharge) lamps. The company is a new Joint Venture comprising of the following
three partners:
The National Company for Glass Ind. (Zoujaj), a well reputed public listed company in Saudi Stock
Market, holding 50% of Sanlec shares.
Saudi Offset Limited Partnership (SOLP) which is an investment firm operating under the Saudi Offset
Program, with 30% of the shares.
Indonesian Fusegears Limited, the technical partner of the JV. Indonesian, is a leading
manufacturer of lamps, panel boards and electrical switches from India and exports products to
over 40 countries worldwide. This partner holds the remaining 20% of shares.

INTRODUCTION
The manufacturing of Sanlec's products takes place in the modern high-tech factory with an area of
16'200 m2. The 35 million Saudi riyals factory uses only raw materials of the highest quality from well-
known national and international manufacturers. Moreover, a team of industry experts assures top
quality production control over the entire process that extends over an area of 3'770 m2 with a
potential of expanding even larger in the future by introducing a third production line of panel boards.
The factory is equipped with the latest and most efficient technologies like the advanced dual wave
soldering machines, an automated assembly line, and automatic tooling machines such as the most
advanced spectrometry system in the country, an EMC power network, a simulation test system, a
magnetic computer analyzer, as well as electronic ballast performance test systems.
Most importantly, Sanlec ensures that all control points in the process system are conformed to green
lighting standards in support of environmental safety, thus guaranteeing excellence from the
procurement of raw materials, throughout the process, and ending with the finished products.

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CENTER
Our R&D center is one of the most advanced in the country making use of the newest high
technology, globally advanced equipment, and a newly established standard-workshop. Hence, all
our products are manufactured up to the latest technologies and conforming with international top
quality standards.
One of the center's most important features is the set of sophisticated equipment that ensures
continuous technological innovation. Another significant feature is the adopted globally advanced
computer control software that guarantees stable product quality and reliability.
To make sure that our R&D center maintains an advanced level, we communicate and cooperate
with a number of prestigious local and international universities and research institutes and constantly
improve our technology level. We seek to make our products' quality well above national standards to
conform and even reach the highest level of quality standards globally.

The center is led by a strong and professional team of experts with intensive expertise in the field as
well as young and creative talents equipped with high knowledge. All which makes it a center for
innovation with an ability to develop new original products.
The center's most prominent goal is to put our products through the ultimate tests: firstly, various tests
are conducted to shape the designs of circuits into ensuring the best performance, a longer lifetime
and the highest safety level. Second, our products are strictly examined under a series of environment
simulations testing – harsh environment conditions like high and low temperatures, high and low
voltage, destructive testing experiments, etc – to assess their quality's stability and reliability.

QUALITY DEPARTMENT
The department contains the latest devices used to measure and adjust the quality such as :
Spectrophotocolorimeter:
This equipment is designed to meet the requirements of ICI (International Commission on
Illumination) for the photometry and colorimetry measurement. The design of the equipment is
capable for the precise measurement of light source as:
1. Capable to measure Wavelength from 380 nm - 800nm with a accuracy of +/- 0.2 nm
Relative spectral power distribution - Colour - derives from the spectrum of light
(distribution of light energy versus wavelength) interacting in the eye with the spectral
sensitivities of the light receptors.
2. Colour temperature range 1000K to 100000K
3. Colour rendering index
4. Chromaticity co-ordinates
5. Lumen measurement - from 0.01 lumen to 1.9999 X 10 5
Life Test racks:
To check how long the lamps will survive when tested on the sample lamps, as per the test
conditions mentioned in the relevant standards.

With SANLEC's strategic location in the Saudi Eastern Province, and with our high and formidable
qualifications, we are in a position to compete professionally and meet the needs of any market. Thus,
we aim to make presence in the Saudi market for a start, then expand out to the rest of the GCC
countries – Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, UAE, Kuwait, Yemen, and Iraq – reaching even the Middle Eastern
countries of Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan, as well as covering other countries like Egypt, Sudan, etc.
As for our product lines, we specialize in the manufacturing of:
High Intensity Discharge lamps, or HID, with an annual production capacity of one million lamps of
both the following types:
• High Pressure Sodium (70, 150, 250, 400 and 600 Watts).
• Metal Halide (70, 150, 250, and 400 Watts).
Compact Fluorescent lamps, or CFL, with an annual production capacity of two and a half million
lamps of:
• Two and Three Tubes type (9 - 26 Watts).
