San Agustin is an archaeological site located in Colombia that contains over 500 statues created between the 6th and 14th centuries by an ancient civilization. Little is known about this civilization, but they settled in the area as early as 3300 BC and left ceremonial and burial sites scattered over 250 square miles. In 1995, San Agustin was declared a UNESCO world heritage site due to the large number of sculptures found there.
