India, whose GDP depends on the agriculture is not a developed nation in terms of modernization in agriculture. The high cost of labor, uncertainty in the production of crops, lack of knowledge about new methods, continuing with the same orthodox and traditional means to go about agriculture, the inefficient use of proper irrigational facilities results in low productivity. Due to this uncertainty in the irrigation process the crops may also dry up. About 14.7% of India’s growth depends on the agricultural sector, so it’s a huge cause of concern.
With this project, the current problems related to farming are solved and practically implemented solutions are provided. Using IOT as well as GSM, a whole new concept of farming using networks is introduced reducing labor, updating farmer about the live conditions of farm on the mobile devices and presenting its graphical value using thing speak. It makes the process handy with the click a button reformation.
We evaluate the performance of our method in a simple temperature sensing application. In terms of reducing human efforts and ease of irrigation, our approach has been observed to outperform the existing conventional approach. We bring out the advantages and disadvantages followed by their applications. The paper concludes the work open for research.
Nematode management in protected cultivation describes about existing practices of farmers and scientific integrated nematode management techniques along with IIHR package of practices.

Introduction: The advanced communication technology has reached to the remote nodal parts of our country and today, Smart Phones are commonly available even in distant villages. But unfortunately the real benefits of Smart Phones have not reached to the villagers especially to the farmer community who forms the backbone of our country’s economy. This is because, most of the mobile applications for Smart Phone have been developed only for urban life. But now or latter, the focus of mobile app development has to be redefined and some useful app has to be developed for the rural people especially for the farmers which not only provide them better livelihood, it will also strengthen our country’s economy. Proposed project will focus itself on agricultural information providing mobile app development for the nodal Indian farmers.
Problem Definitions: Even though our country has achieved phenomenal technological progress, still today, our Agricultural yield vastly depends on soil quality and climatic condition. Thus, the ever-increasing need for food to support the growing population in our country demands a systematic appraisal of its soil and climate resources in order to perform effective cultivation. The Soil and Land Use Survey of India (SLUSI), has dedicated many years in conducting Soil Survey and they have prepared Soil Fertility database area wise with details. With the Soil Fertility database, area wise, they have enlisted several vital soil parameters useful for cultivations e.g.; Soil pH, Electrical Conductance, Organic Matter, Cation Exchange Capacity, Base Saturation, Exchangeable bases, Water Holding Capacity, Particle Density, Bulk Density, Percent Pore Space, Particle Size Distribution, Moisture Equivalent etc. Similarly, India Meteorological Department is also providing information about agriculture related weather parameters for coming months and years. But till now impact of such valuable information has not reached to the end users “the farmers” in effective manner. That’s way, every year before cultivating any crop/vegetable, still our farmers want to know;
“If they cultivate this crop/vegetable this year, will they get sufficient yield or not?”
This valuable question can be answered by effectively analyzing available soil and weather data which will help the farmer to make valuable decision. Proposed AGRI APP will be designed to answer such questions and will also provide helpful suggestions to the framers, instantly, even at the remote part of our India.

In the current study of mining activity within the Russian platform, we use the advantages of location and historical bulletins/catalogues of mining explosions recorded by small-aperture seismic array Mikhnevo (MHVAR). The Institute of Geospheres Dynamics (IDG) of the Russian Academy of Sciences runs seismic array MHVAR (54.950N; 37.767E) since 2004.
Small-aperture seismic array “Mikhnevo” includes ten vertical stations (solid triangles), with one station in the geometrical centre of the array (C00) and other nine stations distributed over three circles with radii of 130 m, 320 m, and 600 m. The array aperture in approximately 1.1 km. Two 3C stations (solid triangles in circles) were added to the outer circle in order to improve the overall stations sensitivity (detection threshold) and resolution. All stations are equipped with short-period seismometers SM3-KV, which are characterized by flat response between 0.8 Hz and 30 Hz and gain of 180,000 [Vs/m]. Later, a 3C broad band station (BB) was installed in the centre of the array for surface wave measurements. The array response function (only for 12 vertical channels) is similar to that for many small-aperture arrays. Such arrays are designed to measure high-frequency signals from regional and near-regional sources with magnitudes above 1.5-2.0.
Page 4
MHVAR detects regional seismic phases (Pn, Sn, Lg, Rg) from various sources. Figure shows some selected waveforms with source-station distance decreasing up-down. Correspondingly the length of records decreases – for the closest mines it’s harder to distinguish between P and S phases.
Page 5
More than 50 areas at regional and near regional distances with different levels of mining activity have been identified by MHVAR. Since 2004, thousands of events have been reported in the IDG seismic catalogue as mining explosions. The IDG publishes this mining event catalogue as a part of the annual issues of “Earthquakes in Russia”, which is available for the broader geophysical community. The map shows several selected mines at near-regional distances where MHVAR successfully detects events with magnitudes 1.0 and lower. We also show a few selected mines at regional distances with the largest events of magnitude (ML) 2.0 and above. Such events should be also detected by IMS arrays. Joint interpretation of signals detected by MHVAR and IMS arrays allows significant improvements in signal detection, location, characterization and identification of events in the IDG catalogue when the historical data are revisited. The work on joint analysis of the IDG and IMS data is possible under the “Contract for limited access to IMS data and IDC products” between the CTBTO and IDG, which allows obtaining data through 2011.
To begin with, we have chosen blasts with larger magnitudes from well-known ironstone mine Mikhailovskiy (red circle), which is situated at regional distances somewhere between MHVAR (~330 km) and IMS array AKASG

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
