Us Economy On Top Essay
The US should keep US economy on top when it comes to trade. This will provide people in our
country with better products and improve the overall standard of living. We would help poorer
and more underdeveloped countries than us that need assistance. Also, putting the US economy
on top will result in keeping peace with countries. Some say we will focus less on values and
more on resources and money and make other countries economy s weaker, but we will still hold
on to values unless they get in the way and we will actually help other economies by trading with
them even though the US is still on top. We should make sure the US economy is on top so we
can help the people in our country have better lives and help and keep peace with countries other
than us.
Putting the US economy on top will make the citizens of our country have better lives. The US
has more money and better resources, so people get better resources, like gas or electricity. We
can also get better products like food or cars. Americans buy the Subaru even though it is made in
Japan. It s one of the best cars in the world. Americans can also get the porsche even though it is
made in germany. It is another one of the best car brands. Sometimes the resources are even
cheaper like gas. When ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Promoting open trade with countries to the south of us, like Mexico, will reduce poverty in Latin
America and expand the market for US goods. Latin America could use our help, and if we go
through with focusing on american economics being on top, we can help them. We could also do
this with other countries in poverty. If our economy is good we will help other economies because
they will sell and buy products and resources to and from us that will make our economy greater
and they will use that money and those resources to make their economy better. The world is better

Krill In Antarctica
Antarctic krill are usually less than 6 cm in length but their size belies the major role they play in
sustaining much of the life in the Southern Ocean. They are the primary food source for many
species of whales, seals, penguins and fish.
Studies have shown that stocks of krill in Antarctica have declined dramatically in recent years.
The reason for this is likely to be a fall in the amount of sea ice in the winter months in the Antarctic
Peninsula region.
Krill numbers in this region may have dropped by as much as 80% since the 1970 s so today s
stocks are a mere 1/5th of what they were only 30 years ago. The decline in krill may in turn
account for the decline in the numbers of some penguin species.
In the early life stages krill require

Classic Is A Classic Essay
Mark Twain, a renowned eighteenth century writer, once said that a classic is something
everyone wants to have read yet no one wants read; those words have never been more true today.
Most novels that are considered classics, especially during their time of release, seem to have a
universal theme of not receiving positive recognition. However, as time went on, people found
themselves developing a taste for such heart tugging tales. Classical novels, because of the
language in which they were written, contain ideas and build skill sets like no other noveltoday;due
to, the originality and uniqueness of the plot, eternal truths and unrealistic themes, and benefits
gained from reading them.
A novel is not dubbed a classic simply based on the number of printings it has undergone or the
languages it has been translated into. Nor is it called a classic because some ... Show more content

Coincidentally, much of the plot tends to come from personal experiences the authors themselves
have faced. For example, in Jane Austen s Pride and Prejudice, the character Mr. Darcy was based
on Austen s own ill fated love. If a classical novel could have been written twice, then it would have
no chance of withstanding the tests of time. One would eventually overshadow the other. All classics
share the accomplishment of overcoming the obstacles that come with an ever changing world.
The works of Bronte, Austen, Hardy, Tolstoy, and Wilde are all classics; however, not one is the
same as the other. Despite those who have tried to recreate them with nonsensical parodies, The
classics are classics because they are foolproof. Plagiarism enhances them.... A classic, therefore,
sustains its impact over time, regardless of the ways in which it is or might be adapted. The
uniqueness of most classical novels come from the fact that centuries after their publication, they
have yet to finish what they were saying; however, modern novels cannot say it for

Analysis Of Micro Skills Model ( Soler )
As soon as my client and I started recording the session, I found myself focusing very hard on
Egan s (2001) micro skills model (SOLER). Although, the way I introduced myself to my client
was not entirely incoherent, watching the video back, I was able to notice trembling in my voice,
and I was almost nervous laughing. We had already agreed on the positioning of the chairs before
filming, however the room the session was taking place in wasn t big enough, and we therefore
found ourselves a little cramped. Nevertheless, the room size didn t become too much of a problem,
as I was still able to position myself accordingly, allowing myself to face my client squarely
enough. My posture remains open throughout the session, although I have noticed I didn t lean in
towards the client at any point. I remember during the session I did keep thinking, should I lean
in soon? , but I could never find a moment where I d be able to lean in naturally, and without
having to force myself to do so. I certainly think for this specific aspect of counselling, I was
focusing too much on making sure I was giving a counselling session properly, instead of forgetting
about the camera and letting myself flow into it naturally. I tried my upmost hardest to maintain eye
contact throughout the session, however it is something I struggle with on a regular basis anyway.
I can never pinpoint where the line is between maintaining good eye contact and just creepily

The French Revolution And The Rise Of Napoleon
Part A. Identification and Evaluation of Sources
This historical investigation explores the question: How did Napoleon Bonaparte gain power and
what improvements did he create in France during his reign? During Napoleon s reign, he had made
changes to the education system along with the changes he made in the French government. This
investigation focuses on the post French Revolution period and Napoleon s rise to power.
An evaluation of the first source will be on John C. Davenport s The French Revolution and the
Rise of Napoleon, published in 2011. The origin of this source is an American historian and
member of the American Historical Society, Society for History Education, and the National
council for the Social Studies. Although there are few works dating back to the late 1700s,
Davenport gives an accurate insight from a historian s perspective regarding events that occurred
during and after the French Revolution as well as Napoleon Bonaparte s reign. The purpose of
this source is to study the cause and effect of an important figure, in this case, Napoleon, that
changed the French society as well as its government. The source also explores the changes he
made that affected the countries abroad. The value of the source is a fair study of Napoleon s role
in the French Revolution and how that affected his reputation as a military leader. Even though this
source is neither a primary source nor a firsthand account, it is still a valuable source for historians

Rhetorical Analysis Of Ronald Reagan s Speech
President, Ronald W. Reagan, in his speech, Explosion of the Space Shuttle Challenger Address
to the Nation, Reagan expresses the grief and loss due to the tragedy that has occurred to the
Challenger. Regan s purpose was to acknowledge the terrible explosion of the Challenger,
witnessed by majority of the people including children and killed all seven crew members:
Michael Smith, Dick, Scobee, Judith Resnik, Ronald McNair, Ellison Onizuka, Gregory Jarvis,
and Christa MC Auliffe; although despite such horrible incident, Regan had insisted that the
nation should continue the space program. He adopts a empathetic and encouraging tone in
order to show his consideration to the victimized families and to promote the continuation of the
space program as a sign of moving forward. Therefore, in Reagan s speech, he conveyed his
empathy and the will to go on with the use of rhetorical devices such as ethos, pathos, allusion,
and anaphora. Reagan had commenced his speech with the use of Pathos, The day Reagan had
given his speech, he proclaimed that it was a day of mourning and remembering (1). Regan has
put into recognition of the tragedy that recently took place, which was the explosion of the
Challenger. Not only that the families of the astronauts were victimized are experiencing the pain,
but the whole nation as a whole for it was a national loss. The country has lost a group of people

Examples Of Ignorance Of The Law
Ignorance of the law will not likely be an adequate defense when involved in a liability suit. That
s the reason for the saying that ignorance of the law is no excuse. The illegality of some driving
acts is apparent to most people such as violating the speed limit, running red lights, or passing a
school bus while its lights are flashing.
However, there are many ways that drivers can unknowingly commit negligent driving acts. If you
get into an accident while doing any of these four examples of negligence, you ll be found at fault,
or at least partially at fault:

The Manifestation of Death in Poetry Essay example
Death is a reality that can be interpreted in many ways. Some people fear the possibility of no
longer living and others welcome the opportunity for a new life in the afterlife. Many poets have
been inspired by death, be it by the approaching death of loved ones or a battle for immortality.
Just as each poet is inspired differently, each poem casts a different hue of light on the topic of
death giving readers a unique way to look at death. In the poem Because I Could Not Stop for
Death Emily Dickinson portrays death as a polite gentleman who ushers people into the afterlife.
The poem s opening lines reveal death to be the driver of a carriage who stopped for the narrator
of the poem. The narrator and death travel alone passing by... Show more content on

Almost as revisiting youth, the carriage passes a school yard where children play, followed by
fields and then finally the poem takes a turn and the narrator tells of the sunset. The poem
reflects at this point that the carriage is moving at a very slow pace or possibly even stopped,
saying that they did not pass the sun, rather he passed us (Dickinson line 13). As the sun sets in
the poem, the procession comes to its end with the carriage coming to a rest at a house. It is in
the last two stanzas that the narrator reveals they are at a grave and it has been many years from
the time they died. The narrator describes the home the carriage stopped by as A Swelling of the
Ground (Dickinson line 18) and further alludes to the fact the roof was just visible within the
ground leading the reader to the realization that the house is actually the grave of the narrator. In
the last few lines of the poem the narrator confesses that the entire poem is a memory of a past
experience that happened a long time ago but feels as if it was recent. The addition of the last
two lines, I first surmised the Horses Heads/Where toward Eternity (Dickinson lines 23 24), add
the first and only glimmer of surprise, leaving the reader with a jarring disconnect from the
previous easy going nature of the poem. Like Dickinson, John Donne shows us a death that is a
vehicle to the afterlife in his poem Death Be Not Proud . However, the narrator in Death Be Not
Proud is

Argument 1: Why I believe there is dinosaurs in my backyard because back when there was
dinosaurs there was a shallow sea around hallett cove south Australia which it would be where we

Why is this an important point? This is an important point because you need a large amount of
water to make sedimentary rocks.
What factual evidence do you have to support your point (reason)? Because i have and people have

Argument 2: Why I believe this point (reason); some elaboration and evidence.
What is the point (reason)? I believe this because no one has dug under our house because thats

The Importance Of Social Constructionism On Sexuality
Social construction has been an extremely influential and hot debating topic in the past century. It
is a term where everyone almost has heard but quite a few actually understand. The social
constructionist perspective on sexuality, on the other hand, began to rise during the sexual
revolution of the 1960s. Every social constructionist has their own approach to sexuality. Thinkers
such as Gary Kinsman, Fausto Sterling both discussed their approach towards social
constructionism on sexuality. (Missing out thesis statement, not sure how to write it) Social
Constructionism is the belief that society agrees upon definitions of categories, and how we are
taught to fit into these categories. It is referring to the way we create meaning through social
interaction with others. Also, it is the view of thought looks at our life and reality tries to see
what is truly exist, and what is only exist because we say it is. For instance, money is just tinted
papers and metals that have no value other than we have assigned them. They only exist because
when we give them a reality and value through social agreement so therefore we can use them to
purchase goods with. Besides, there are many things in our life that we experience only exist
because we have created them. Take language, for example, it is created as a patterned system of
communication and reflecting our social context. It follows that language is culturally appointed.
The categories and the pattern of language, therefore reflect

The Cold War Era Analysis
The End of an Era Nothing lasts forever. With the end of World War II, Hiroshima and Nagasaki
in ruins, and America and the USSR vying for nuclear dominance; tension between these two super
powers increased setting the stage for a new and different kind of warfare. (USHistory.org) 1945,
the war had ended, Europe lay in tatters, and the Soviet Unionloomed overhead ready to jump at the
chance to advance both its communist ideology and geological influence. (Friedman) On the other
hand the U.S.A. had wholly different plans for rebuilding. As Michael Friedman, a political
historian, says,
American leaders now believed that U.S. political isolation from Europe after the First World War
had been a huge mistake, ...Now, with Soviet forces ensconced in half the continent, and with
communists strong in France, Italy, and, most important of all, Germany, U.S. policymakers again
had reason to be wary.
Suddenly, war did not seem so far away after all. Relations between America and the USSR had
always been somewhat strained, and as what would soon be known as the Cold War escalated, the
path to peace began to slip farther and farther away. From threats of nuclear warfare, to the
disasters of communist regimes, the Cold War sparked uncertainty and fear in American hearts.
Never officially declared, the exact dates of the Cold War remain a disputed mystery, however,
most historians will agree it did not end until the fall of the USSR in 1991. ... Show more content on

Interplay Of Conflict And Deception In Interpersonal...
Two parts of interpersonal communication go hand in hand are conflict and deception. One can
lead to the other and vice versa. Most people try to avoid both conflict and deception, but people
must realize that they have benefits and are a reality in everyday interactions. The interplay of
conflict and deception specifically harnessed my attention over the past few chapters.
Interpersonal conflict is an expressed struggle between two interdependent parties who perceive
incompatible goals, scarce resources, and interference from the other party in achieving their
goals (Floyd, 2011, p. 350). To fully understand conflict, the definition can be broken down
further. As Kory Floyd (2011) describes, conflict is an expressed struggle. A conflict is not fully
present until one party s feelings are aware to the other party. This can be done through both
verbal and nonverbal behaviors. Conflict occurs between interdependent parties as Floyd (2011)
explains. A disagreement becomes a conflict if both parties depend on each other in some way. For
example, the relationship between a child and their parents is a relationship that has high
interdependence. If there is no dependence between the two parties, Floyd (2011) does not consider
it interpersonal conflict, which I personally found interesting. The next part of the definition
declares that conflict is about the goals the parties perceive see as incompatible. Incompatible,
means that both party s needs cannot be met. However, Floyd

Analysis Of The Book A History Of The World
Synthesis Essay In the book A History of the World in Six Glasses by Tom Standage it is
explained how the Mesopotamians saw beer and bread as a way to distinguish those who are
civilized and those who are savages. Standage explains how beer had a great role if the
Mesopotamian culture and how in many cases it was told in their stories and legends. The
Egyptians were not far off the infatuation with beer either. The Egyptians also cherished beer
greatly and was a great deal of importance to them especially because it was used as an offering to
their gods. In both cases beer holds an important value to both societies. Tom Standage explains
the similarities between the Mesopotamian and Egyptian views and values of beer, and how it
affected their religion and culture. Tom Standage describes how beer was greatly engraved in
both Mesopotamian and Egyptian culture. Standage explains that in Egyptian culture the
phrases to make a beer hall and to sit in the beer hall were very popular expressions that meant to
have a good time It is explained how beer was a staple food which was necessary in order to
complete a beer. This especially came true with the Mesopotamians. The expression pouring of
beer meant the Mesopotamians were about to have a banquet or celebratory feast and this was
usually in regards to formal visits by the king. Beer was a universal drink in both cultures. Notice
how in every one of the Egyptian and Mesopotamian expressions the involvement of beer is

Marie Antoinette s Life During The French Revolution
During the lifetime of Marie Antoinette, France s most infamous queen, she was known as the
person who claimed, Let them eat cake as many of her own subjects were starving. The queen s life
was filled with extravagance and wonder, but she was no stranger to rumors that would come to
ruin her reputation and end her life during the French Revolution. Was Marie Antoinettetruly a
cruel queen or simply an ignorant young girl who had been given power to early in her life?
Marie Antoinette was born in her home country of Austria on November 2, 1755.
(Biography.com) She was one of the many children born to the Emperor Francis the 1st and
Empress Maria Theresa. (Biography.com) Marie Antoinette had a common royal childhood and
received a good education, although what she learned was different than her brothers because
she was a girl. (Biography.com) As most royals did back at that time, the Emperor s children
were used as bargaining chips and to seal alliances. Empress Theresa was in charge of that, and
arranged for Marie to be married to the grandson of the current King of France, Louis XV.
(History.com) The reasoning for this marriage was because of the feuds between their two families,
the Hapsburgs and the Bourbons. (History.com)

Antoinette. (Smithsonianmag.com) Although it was hard to get her to learn because she wasn t

Advantages Of Birds
Birds are warm blooded vertebrate creatures that have wings, quills, a snout, no teeth a skeleton
in which numerous bones are combined or are missing, and a to a great degree proficient, one

bones and effective flight muscles. Most winged animals can fly. Birds have an extremely solid
heart and an effective method for breathing these are vital for flying creatures to fly (Serono Rao,

of nourishment to control their flight. The capacity to fly has grown autonomously commonly all

The Issue Of Plastic Surgery
The subject of plastic surgery in America is still a taboo since it attributes to the idea of being
unnatural and a plastic monster . Most popular surgeries in the country include eye lifts,

what they have had done in order to not be shamed by others who may not support artificially

gotten it done would be looked down upon on by family and friends and be ostracized by
society, but now the pursuit of perfection has made cosmetic surgery much more popular and
open to the public. About one in five women in Korea would have some kind of plastic surgery
done, and many neighborhoods and subway stations are lined with advertisements and billboards
to promote clinics by showing before and after photos (Graham, Popular Surgery Shrouded in

What Is Amelia Earhart Role Model
Amelia Earhart had an outstanding career that led her to becoming a role model for woman
everywhere because she was the first women aviator to break records and gender barriers.
Amelia accomplished goals that no one has ever done. As a woman, breaking all the records that
she did shows that women can be just as strong and brave as men. It shows that if someone puts
his/her mind to something they can accomplish it. Throughout her life she worked very hard to
succeed in being a famous pilot. Earhart was born on July 24, 1897 in Kansas. In 1904, with the
help of her uncle, she built a home made ramp inspired by a roller coaster she has seen on a trip
to St. Louis and secured the ramp to the roof of the family toolshed. Earhart s first flight didn t
end so well. She flew from the broken wooden box that had served the sled with a bruised lip,
torn dress and a sensation of exhilaration . She exclaimed, Oh, Pidge, it s just like flying! (Bio.

Pierre Bourdieu
Bourdieu Pierre Bourdieu s theories of social power centered around the stratification of the class
structure. He explained that a person s habitus (mental filter) is shaped by the practices and
behaviours that surround them. He is clear to state that one s habitus is not created individually, but
is acquired through the internalization of the interactions around them. This habitus in turn shapes
how a person sees the world and how they present themselves in it (Appelrouth Edles, 2016, p.
448). Similar to standpoint theory, Bourdieu believed that an individual s viewpoint is determined
by their position within a social space or field. In Practical Reason: On the Theory of Action ,
Bourdieu states that, Social space is constructed in such... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the family is the primary field in which a child gains cultural capital, Bourdieu claimed
that this becomes institutionalized in the education system. When evaluating educational capital,
he explains that it is not simply a result of schooling, but states that academic capital is in fact the
guaranteed product of the combined effects of cultural transmission by the family ad cultural
transmission by the school (the efficiency of which depends on the amount of cultural capital
directly inherited from the family). (Bourdieu, 1996, p. 23). In addition, Bourdieu pointed out that
although schools claim to be meritocratic institutions that judge based on individual aptitudes, they
are actually duplicating social stratification by basing rewards on cultural capital and hereditary
privileges. In this way, the education system is unfair because it duplicates existing social

Summaries of Books on Central America
*Andrien, Kenneth J. Andean Worlds: Indigenous History, Culture, and Consciousness under
Spanish Rule, 1532 1825. Albuquerque: University of New Mexico Press, 2001.
Andrien s book is a historical summary of the Andean region from native people to after the Spanish
conquest. It addresses economy, culture, and the importance of religion, as well as power structures.
There is an emphasis on the continued existence of indigenous culture despite Spanish involvement
for hundreds of years.
The book is important in situating the context in which Rose of Lima lived and the native
traditions that would have influenced her and her family. Andrien s book can be used in
understanding the historical events that led up to Spanish rule and the importance of Catholicism
and the power it held over the native people and how it was used to establish Spanish control.

Achieving Sustainable Development Goals At A Un Summit
The United Nations General Assembly has officially adopted the Sustainable Development Goals
at a UN summit in New York City as of September 27, 2015 that are to be globally implemented
by 2030. This essay will discuss goal 13 take urgent action to combat climate change and its
impacts , along with its five targets.
Are the Targets Truly Measurable?
The most concretely measureable target under SDG 13 is 13.a. A deadline for this target is
clearly stated along with the funds and specific parties needed to create a global impact. One will
be able to identify progress, or lack of, by 2020. Target 13.b is unspecified and extremely vague,
not indicating effective strategies for its measurability. LDC s often contribute least to climate
change yet are expected to suffer the greatest, there is no specific source in this target to aid these
countries in raising their planning capacities. Target 13.1 is vague making it difficult to assess if
a country perhaps has not achieved this target, it only focuses on extreme events when developing
resilience and adaptive capacity to gradual shifts in climate change is crucial (ICSU, 2015). The
target would need further specification and a timeframe. Target 13.2 can be measured as one can
identify if and when climate change protocols are implemented into a nations policies and whether
or not they are put into effect, however focus on only the national level is too narrow as mitigation
policies can be used on different scales such as

Voting And Politics In The United States
Voting and Politics are topics that cause controversy amongst Americans. Moreover, many people
do not express his or her right to vote because they feel like their vote will not matter. Additionally,
many individuals just look for the republican or democratic candidate and conduct little research
as to the candidate s political views. I, however, look for three important aspects before voting for
an individual; His or her stance of education, the environment, and whether I feel they are
genuine in their promises. Since I am a special education major, education is important to me; not
only for a job, but for the future of our country. Before voting for an individual, I look to see how

Worm Lab Report
Title: The Effect of Nicotine on the Heart Rate of the Lumbriculus Variegatus
Introduction:
Background This lab is being done to demonstrate the effects of stimulants on the circulatory
system of blackworms. In this lab, the stimulant we have chosen to use is Nicotine. A stimulant is
an agent that causes increased activity, especially in the nervous or cardiovascular systems. In this
lab, we will put blackworms into the Nicotine to look at the differences in pulse rates when
compared to a control. The proper name for blackworms is Lumbriculus Variegatus, they are
freshwater worms most commonly found in North America and Europe. The blood in blackworms
circulates from the dorsal blood vessel toward the head through a series of ... Show more content on

Mean 15.4, Median 15
Table 1 shows the heart rates of worms in the control, their average heart rate is at 10.7 pulse
/min. Table 2 shows the worms in the 2.5mL of Nicotine which proved to be too strong. Table 3
shows the heart rates of worms in the diluted solution of 2.5mL Nicotine and 1mL H2O. Table 3
shows that the heart rate of worms is faster in the nicotine with the average pulse rate at 15.5 pulse
/min.
This table shows the data for the 15 control worms in water and then the same 15 in Nicotine.
There are not 15 worms in the nicotine solution because our first solution was too strong and 6 of
the worms died. The solution being used in this graph is 2.5 mL of Nicotine and 1 mL H20. This
graph shows that the pulse rates of worms in Nicotine tend to be higher than that of the worms in
water. This data proves the idea that stimulants raise heart rate.

Interpersonal Communication Model
1.Overview of Interpersonal Communication
Interpersonal communication is a process of exchanging information from one party to another. In
other words, it is a two way transmission of messages by which people present their intentions,
emotions and expectations in by writing, speaking, or other means (Holland Anderson, 2012).
1.1 Model of interpersonal communication
Hartley (1925) highlighted the most important elements of interpersonal communication with a
model (Figure 1) so to indicate what is happening throughout the process of interpersonal
communication.
There are four key components Social context, Social identity, Social perception and Coding.
пЃ¬Social context, in simple wording, involves the physical and social environment.

Before conversation, person A is told that person B is a troublemaker. A negative image is then
stored in the mind of person A. Finally person A greet person B in a suspicious way and being
aware. It highlighted that people behave and react what they expect towards other labelled people.
Coding
Coding can be further divided into two parts Encoding and Decoding (Hargie, 2004: Black, 2014).
The former is the process in which the sender decides what message will be sent and how it will be
transmitted while the latter is the stage by which the receiver analyses and determine the sender s
intention.
Language is the usual and normal way to present an idea or feeling. However, language sometimes
is a barrier in communication, especially an intercultural interpersonal communication. It is difficult
for a Japanese and an American to communicate because of different mother languages, accents, and
also a lack of equivalent words and grammar.
In addition, the same word has different meanings according to various conditions. Take negative as
an example. People always interpret this term as bad. Nevertheless, in scientific tests, it refers to no
sign or no symptoms. Patients may misunderstand the negative in these

Eassy On Identity
Growing up in a household with parents of two different religious backgrounds has contributed to
my identity and continues to act as an important factor in what defines me as a person. My mom

information with my peers around the holiday season made me quickly grow accustomed to
hearing, wow, so that means you get, like, double the presents! Even though this may be true,
coming from a religiously diverse family impacts my life in ways much more significant than just
double the presents. It has provided me with different experiences to learn about both faiths and to

teaching my siblings and me all about the different holidays and their significance. He attends
temple every once in awhile, but he has never asked any of us to go with him, nor have we asked
him. In the future I would like to go, because I want to see Judaism in a more formal way, rather
than just in my house. I feel very lucky that I am educated about the Jewish culture, because it tends
to get overlooked in today s society. Through celebrating the Jewish holidays like Rosh Hashanah,
Passover, and Yom Kippur, I have been introduced to many new types of foods, traditions, and
prayers. One of my favorite Jewish traditions happens during Passover. The tradition consists of
my dad hiding the afikomen, which is a half piece of matzo, the unleavened bread typically eaten
during Passover. The tradition brought so much joy to my siblings and me because we tried to
watch my dad very carefully to see where he hid it, but he somehow always found a way to hide
it without us knowing when and where he did so. After the traditional Passover meal was
finished, my siblings and I would race up out of our chairs to go wildly search for it. Whichever
kid found it first was given a prize, and it was usually a few bucks, so we were always very
competitive in trying to find it. Eventually, I wasn t allowed to look for it anymore because I got
too old, which I found very unfair, but my brother and sister loved it because now they had a
better chance of finding it first. My dad loves carrying out this tradition, because it reminds him of

The Black Panther party was founded by Huey Newton and Bobby Seale in 1966. The Panthers
placed militant self defense of minority communities against the U.S Government, and fought to

During the 1960 s the civil rights movement was at its full strength. The BPP fought for change

of wants they believe they deserved from the government. For example, point 2 in the list said We

minority groups were being discriminated against by not being hired by the business owners.

Schindler s List Accuracy
On behalf of someone who thoroughly enjoys movies due to entertainment purposes, the
importance of a movie following an historical plot or a literary work is of least significance. I
watch movies for the sole pleasure it brings to myself. With endless genres and various actors
/actresses, how does one not invest time into some of the greatest artworks ever produced by
mankind. To have a movie prearranged on a set path by already shadowing another work is
underwhelming and expected, to say the least. This belief is already widely represented among the
majority of filmdirectors. Historical events like Dunkirk depicting a famous battle in World War II,

How else would a director, like Spielberg, come up with remarkable story lines like Bridge of
Spies and Saving Private Ryan without additional background knowledge. However, accuracy
stops there. Schindler s List is the top grossing history movie of all time. Although it is on the
very top, Schindler s List isn t an authentic documentary concerning the holocaust as many are
lead to believe. It is based off an historical fiction by Thomas Keneally. Spielberg s ideology was
to shape the film into a relatable experience of self awareness towards the horrific events that took
place. Critics say it lacks discipline and fails to recognize the true story of a holocaust survivor, yet
that was not Spielberg s ambitions. Like many directors, this movie was not intended to be
historically accurate. It is a movie built for entertainment with plots and twists to get the viewer into
its captivating atmosphere and character roles. If people prefer historically accurate and authentic,
then why is the top grossing historical movie neither? This underlining question indicates that top
movies are solely invested on entertainment in order to earn a profitable gain. This problem is also
predominant in other top rated films such as Hotel Rwanda, American Sniper and Lincoln which
entails the foundation of a true story, yet diverges immensely to grow the story

Crime And Punishment Foil
Fyodor Dostoyevsky s novel Crime and Punishment features a wide variety of characters and
personalities within its pages. Throughout the novel, many different characters are developed
through their introductions and their comparisons to other characters. There are many examples of
this foiling technique, but some of the most prominent comparisons are made between the main
character Rodion Romanovitch Raskolnikov and characters such as Arkady Ivanovitch
SvidrigaГЇlov and Dmitri Prokofitch Razumihin. These comparisons allow for deeper
understanding of Raskolnikov as the audience sees the different potentials his character has.

This character is foiled against Raskolnikov to highlight Raskolnikov s good qualities and highlight
SvidrigaГЇlov s bad qualities. Using foiling, Dostoyevsky sets SvidrigaГЇlov up as a character to
mirror Raskolnikov s journey and give the readers a glimpse of what may have happened down a
more negative road, unlike the foil of Razumihin. Raskolnikov s murdering the pawnbroker is
paralleled with SvidrigaГЇlov s implied poisoning of his now deceased wife, Marfa Petrovna. Yet
SvidrigaГЇlov s crime differs in that his motives are to be with Dounia, whereas Raskolnikov s
were based purely in hubris. They are again paralleled when Sonia serves as Raskolnikov s Christ
figure through whom he could acquire redemption, and Dounia plays the same role for
SvidrigaГЇlov. Raskolnikov s interactions with Sonia in her room are mirrored when SvidrigaГЇlov
attempts to pursue Sonia one last time in a neighboring room. Despite this alignment, their
interactions differ because SvidrigaГЇlov locks Dounia into the room with him and rather than
attempting redemption, he reveals the crimes of Raskolnikov. It is not a confession of his own
sins but Raskolnikov s. As a result, Dounia cannot act as his Christ figure like Sonia does for

Abiotic Factors Of Tropical Rainforest
Mahayla Griggs
Abiotic Factors
Tropical Rainforest make up a total of 6% of all of earth s land surface. Not surprisingly though, it
produces 40% of all of earth s oxygen. There are 4 levels to the tropical rainforest; emergent, upper
canopy, understory, and forest floor. The rainforestreceived it s name because of it s self watering
system. Plants release water into the atmosphere through transpiration. This moisture usually has no
place to go which creates a thick cloud cover over the rainforest causing the humid, hot,
atmosphere. In the the rainforests are large rivers that branch off into smaller rivers that help to
provide water for the entire forest.
Location/ Landscape
Rainforest are located around the equator. Known for their hot humid climates rainforest easily

Ecosystem Services
Tropical rainforest have many ecosystem services that they provide for the earth daily. Because of
the large amounts of plants, tropical rainforest are capable of helping to clean the air of pollutants.
Plants take in the bad air and produce air that is not filled with harmful pollutants. Tropical
rainforests also increase rainfall. The H2O that is released into the air has to go somewhere
eventually. It can not just stay in the cloud that surrounds the forest forever. So, it comes back
down as precipitation. The tropical rainforest allows humans to benefit financially. Humans are

Language And Communication Essay
Language is shared among all humans, but it is hardly straightforward. As mentioned in our
many lectures, Ferdinand de Saussure described language as ...series of differences of sound
combined with a series of differences of ideas. As such, there is a linguistic influence on our
thoughts. Language is much more than communicating because it can also be representational on
how we think about ourselves and the world that surrounds us. It is because we use language to
express our thoughts, feelings, and ideas, that these communications shape the process of how
we think and feel. It is something that is continuously evolving over time. Some languages can
cease to exist, but new forms can arrive in their place. This is especially so when two different
languages make contact. However, it s not necessarily the languages themselves making contact,
but the people who speak those languages. The world has a history of people migrating to new
places around the globe; people like explorers and nomads and prisoners and slaves who settle in
new lands. Through these travels, many people from different cultures and languages meet, but
how can they communicate effectively? What if people are forced to live in a place where no one
speaks their native tongue? In these type of situations is what forms a pidgin, or a kind of language
used to facilitate contact and relationships between persons of two or more languages. Trade and
colonization is a critical factor of when this type of supplemental

This recipe, like many of those found in The Book of Apicius, is vague because it does not
describe in detail how this dish is prepared, nor does it give exact quantities of the ingredients
used, therefore it is open to interpretation. The notes that accompany this recipe state that it may be
a type of oysters stew and after doing some research I agree with this assumption. I learned that
soups and stews are made by thickening a seasoned liquid and cookingmeat, vegetables, or grains in
said liquid. In this recipe, egg yolk would be the thickening agent that turns the wine, vinegar, broth,
and other ingredients into a stew. From the Book of Apicius and my research I also learned that the
ancient Romans made numerous types of stews and soups

Observing A Second Grade Classroom
For my ethnographic research I am observing a second grade classroom. I have chosen to observe
classroom reading and writing time with the students. In addition I have decided to interview three
people (teacher, parent, and student) from the school at which I am completing my observation
hours, P.S. 152 Gwendoline N. Alleyne Schoolin Woodside, Queens to have a solid understanding
of my research. I will use alternative name for students and teacher. Mrs. S is piloting a writing
workshop in her classroom and ELA/ literacy standards will be the primary focus throughout her
teaching. My primarily focus will be on the classroom routine.
Mrs. Santos had been a public school teacher for 7 years prior to her voluntary leave of 7 years.
This is her second year after return back to teaching. She has taught at this school only. She taught
third grade in the prior years. This is her first year teaching second graders.
I consider Mrs. S to be coordinated. She has her materials well labeled and organized throughout
her classroom. Her desk area also appears organized. Mrs. S shared with me that she begins her
school day one hour before the students arrived. This schedule allows her to plan for the day
ahead. Mrs. S s classroom is large but functional. She has a total of 30 students in her class. The
seating arrangement consists of 6 sets of grouping desks as Mrs. S has 6 groups of 5 students to
an area. This set up offers several benefits including encouraging collective learning,

Descriptive Essay About A Cemetery
I visited the St. Andrews Cemetery and Mausoleum in Saginaw, Michigan. I went on June 10th,
2017 at 9am. This was a very large cemetery with different sections based on saint names. This
cemetery had a few walls throughout, with it, had headstones of those that pasted. There was no
designated children s section that I came across and found children headstones throughout the
cemetery. Some were with families and others had no one that I could tell was of relation. The
mausoleum had two rooms and wrapped all around the building with names of those who passed
away. While I was there I meet some of the grounds people getting ready for a buriallater that
afternoon. When I told them what I was doing there taking pictures and writing things down
they were very helpful to talk to me about the cemetery. They were unfortunately unable to help
me find the items on my list of observations to find because of size of the cemetery. There was a
lot of plots and not in any order for me to find my items. So, I just walked around on my
own.One of the first things I notice was a lot of married plots of husband and wife. They were all
very similar in style and had the intertwined rings with the names on either side. I also noticed that
some had pictures of the married couple in the headstonewhich I have never seen before and
thought that was very unique1. These pictures were of their wedding photo. A lot of these
headstones were not finished, as in either the husband or wife were still

How Does Shakespeare Use Ethos In The Winter s Tale
Words are a tremendously powerful tool that can spark different emotions and reactions causing
us to question our intentions. With such passionate displays of raw emotions, Shakespeare is able
to captivate his audience in The Winter s Tale. Each character displays such authentic feelings that
gives life to each word on the page, helping the reader develop the sense of power and control our
feelings can often mimic. The best way to interpret the play is to submerge ourselves into these
characters realistic emotions that cling to each word. Shakespeare can connect to his reader s
emotions while by demonstrating with each character how powerful words can be. His use of
pathos in his writing helps connects empathy to the characters creating reactions... Show more

In the article, The Pedagogy of Emotional Response: Feeling Shakespeare s The Winter s Tale by
James Lambert, he refers to the Cognitive Emotional Pedagogy which is a a relatively recent
theory that maintains that the brain s cognitive functions are activated by a person s emotional
memory and state (28). As in, the best way to interpret this play is for the readers to develop a
sense of feeling to the play in order to analyzing and learn from it. I believe Shakespeare is able to
do that by demonstrating the influence words have over the characters thus creating the emotional
reactions inside the play that the audience can relate too. For example, many people can relate to
Hermione where they have tried to convince someone something isn t true but no matter what they
say, it will never change. As a teacher, I want my students to be submerge in this plays ability to
use words to manipulate emotions and put themselves in the character s positions of authenticity
and vulnerably. Lambert also stated, Cognitive Emotional Pedagogy is an exciting and fertile
approach to teaching, but the reason it has not affected higher levels of education, including
university and graduate level training, is probably because it asks teachers to integrate their own
emotional experience with that of the students, which can result in the discomfort of confession
and self exposure. Too often a student s preconceived emotional state, like anger or depression, is
brought to bear in class discussions rather than their a priori emotional response to a text within the
class (28). I found this quote interesting because it is true, Shakespeare does bring up emotional
text that most people want to avoid because it makes us uncomfortable. Too often we avoid talking

Segmented Polyurethanes Can Be Represented By Three Basic...
Segmented polyurethanes can be represented by three basic components in the following general
form: P (D(CD)n P)n
Where P is the polyol, D is the diisocyanate and C is the chain extender. Polyol, or the so called
soft segment, is an oligomeric macromonomer comprising a soft flexible chain terminated by
hydroxyl ( OH) groups. The chain extender is usually a small molecule with either hydroxyl, or
amine end groups. The diisocyanate is a low molecular weight compound that can react with either
the polyol or chain extender, leading to the interesting segmented structure. In linear polyurethanes,
the three components have a functionality of two. If a branched or crosslinked material is desired,
multifunctional polyols, isocyanates, and sometimes chain extenders can be incorporated into the
formulation. Due to the statistical nature of the copolymerization, polyurethanes have both a
distribution in total molecular weight and adistribution in the hard segment sequence length, those
copolymer sequences denoted as D(CD)n, that follow essentially a most probable distribution.
The principle chemical reaction involved in the synthesis of polyurethanes is the urethane forming
reaction, i.e., the reaction between isocyanate and hydroxyl groups.
Because this is a nucleophilic addition reaction, it is catalyzed by basic compounds such as tertiary
amines and by metal compounds such as organotin. Urethane formation is actually an equilibrium
reaction; the presence of catalyst therefore

  • 2. Us Economy On Top Essay The US should keep US economy on top when it comes to trade. This will provide people in our country with better products and improve the overall standard of living. We would help poorer and more underdeveloped countries than us that need assistance. Also, putting the US economy on top will result in keeping peace with countries. Some say we will focus less on values and more on resources and money and make other countries economy s weaker, but we will still hold on to values unless they get in the way and we will actually help other economies by trading with them even though the US is still on top. We should make sure the US economy is on top so we can help the people in our country have better lives and help and keep peace with countries other than us. Putting the US economy on top will make the citizens of our country have better lives. The US has more money and better resources, so people get better resources, like gas or electricity. They are the primary food source for many species of whales, seals, penguins and fish. Studies have shown that stocks of krill in Antarctica have declined dramatically in recent years. The reason for this is likely to be a fall in the amount of sea ice in the winter months in the Antarctic Peninsula region. Krill numbers in this region may have dropped by as much as 80% since the 1970 s so today s stocks are a mere 1/5th of what they were only 30 years ago. • 5. Classic Is A Classic Essay Mark Twain, a renowned eighteenth century writer, once said that a classic is something everyone wants to have read yet no one wants read; those words have never been more true today. Most novels that are considered classics, especially during their time of release, seem to have a universal theme of not receiving positive recognition. However, as time went on, people found themselves developing a taste for such heart tugging tales. Classical novels, because of the language in which they were written, contain ideas and build skill sets like no other noveltoday;due to, the originality and uniqueness of the plot, eternal truths and unrealistic themes, and benefits gained from reading them. For example, in Jane Austen s Pride and Prejudice, the character Mr. Darcy was based on Austen s own ill fated love. All classics share the accomplishment of overcoming the obstacles that come with an ever changing world. The works of Bronte, Austen, Hardy, Tolstoy, and Wilde are all classics; however, not one is the same as the other. We had already agreed on the positioning of the chairs before filming, however the room the session was taking place in wasn t big enough, and we therefore found ourselves a little cramped. Nevertheless, the room size didn t become too much of a problem, as I was still able to position myself accordingly, allowing myself to face my client squarely enough. My posture remains open throughout the session, although I have noticed I didn t lean in towards the client at any point. I remember during the session I did keep thinking, should I lean in soon? , but I could never find a moment where I d be able to lean in naturally, and without having to force myself to do so. I certainly think for this specific aspect of counselling, I was focusing too much on making sure I was giving a counselling session properly, instead of forgetting about the camera and letting myself flow into it naturally. Identification and Evaluation of Sources This historical investigation explores the question: How did Napoleon Bonaparte gain power and what improvements did he create in France during his reign? During Napoleon s reign, he had made changes to the education system along with the changes he made in the French government. This investigation focuses on the post French Revolution period and Napoleon s rise to power. An evaluation of the first source will be on John C. Davenport s The French Revolution and the Rise of Napoleon, published in 2011. The origin of this source is an American historian and member of the American Historical Society, Society for History Education, and the National council for the Social Studies. Although there are few works dating back to the late 1700s, Davenport gives an accurate insight from a historian s perspective regarding events that occurred during and after the French Revolution as well as Napoleon Bonaparte s reign. The purpose of this source is to study the cause and effect of an important figure, in this case, Napoleon, that changed the French society as well as its government. The source also explores the changes he made that affected the countries abroad. The value of the source is a fair study of Napoleon s role in the French Revolution and how that affected his reputation as a military leader. • 13. The Manifestation of Death in Poetry Essay example Death is a reality that can be interpreted in many ways. Some people fear the possibility of no longer living and others welcome the opportunity for a new life in the afterlife. Many poets have been inspired by death, be it by the approaching death of loved ones or a battle for immortality. Just as each poet is inspired differently, each poem casts a different hue of light on the topic of death giving readers a unique way to look at death. In the poem Because I Could Not Stop for Death Emily Dickinson portrays death as a polite gentleman who ushers people into the afterlife. Almost as revisiting youth, the carriage passes a school yard where children play, followed by fields and then finally the poem takes a turn and the narrator tells of the sunset. The poem reflects at this point that the carriage is moving at a very slow pace or possibly even stopped, saying that they did not pass the sun, rather he passed us (Dickinson line 13). As the sun sets in the poem, the procession comes to its end with the carriage coming to a rest at a house. It is in the last two stanzas that the narrator reveals they are at a grave and it has been many years from the time they died. The narrator describes the home the carriage stopped by as A Swelling of the Ground (Dickinson line 18) and further alludes to the fact the roof was just visible within the ground leading the reader to the realization that the house is actually the grave of the narrator. In the last few lines of the poem the narrator confesses that the entire poem is a memory of a past experience that happened a long time ago but feels as if it was recent. The addition of the last two lines, I first surmised the Horses Heads/Where toward Eternity (Dickinson lines 23 24), add the first and only glimmer of surprise, leaving the reader with a jarring disconnect from the previous easy going nature of the poem. Like Dickinson, John Donne shows us a death that is a vehicle to the afterlife in his poem Death Be Not Proud . However, the narrator in Death Be Not Proud is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is a term where everyone almost has heard but quite a few actually understand. Thinkers such as Gary Kinsman, Fausto Sterling both discussed their approach towards social constructionism on sexuality. (Missing out thesis statement, not sure how to write it) Social Constructionism is the belief that society agrees upon definitions of categories, and how we are taught to fit into these categories. It is referring to the way we create meaning through social interaction with others. (USHistory.org) 1945, the war had ended, Europe lay in tatters, and the Soviet Unionloomed overhead ready to jump at the chance to advance both its communist ideology and geological influence. (Friedman) On the other hand the U.S.A. had wholly different plans for rebuilding. • 18. Interplay Of Conflict And Deception In Interpersonal... Two parts of interpersonal communication go hand in hand are conflict and deception. One can lead to the other and vice versa. Most people try to avoid both conflict and deception, but people must realize that they have benefits and are a reality in everyday interactions. The interplay of conflict and deception specifically harnessed my attention over the past few chapters. Interpersonal conflict is an expressed struggle between two interdependent parties who perceive incompatible goals, scarce resources, and interference from the other party in achieving their goals (Floyd, 2011, p. 350). To fully understand conflict, the definition can be broken down further. As Kory Floyd (2011) describes, conflict is an expressed struggle. A conflict is not fully present until one party s feelings are aware to the other party. This can be done through both verbal and nonverbal behaviors. Conflict occurs between interdependent parties as Floyd (2011) explains. A disagreement becomes a conflict if both parties depend on each other in some way. For example, the relationship between a child and their parents is a relationship that has high interdependence. If there is no dependence between the two parties, Floyd (2011) does not consider it interpersonal conflict, which I personally found interesting. The next part of the definition declares that conflict is about the goals the parties perceive see as incompatible. Incompatible, means that both party s needs cannot be met. However, Floyd ... • 25. What Is Amelia Earhart Role Model Amelia Earhart had an outstanding career that led her to becoming a role model for woman everywhere because she was the first women aviator to break records and gender barriers. Amelia accomplished goals that no one has ever done. As a woman, breaking all the records that she did shows that women can be just as strong and brave as men. It shows that if someone puts his/her mind to something they can accomplish it. Throughout her life she worked very hard to succeed in being a famous pilot. Earhart was born on July 24, 1897 in Kansas. In 1904, with the help of her uncle, she built a home made ramp inspired by a roller coaster she has seen on a trip to St. Louis and secured the ramp to the roof of the family toolshed. Earhart s first flight didn t end so well. She flew from the broken wooden box that had served the sled with a bruised lip, torn dress and a sensation of exhilaration . She exclaimed, Oh, Pidge, it s just like flying! (Bio. 230). Awhile after in 1920, the moment Ameliaknew she wanted to fly and be an aviator was when she flew a five dollar flight for the first time. He explained that a person s habitus (mental filter) is shaped by the practices and behaviours that surround them. He is clear to state that one s habitus is not created individually, but is acquired through the internalization of the interactions around them. This habitus in turn shapes how a person sees the world and how they present themselves in it (Appelrouth Edles, 2016, p. 448). Similar to standpoint theory, Bourdieu believed that an individual s viewpoint is determined by their position within a social space or field. When evaluating educational capital, he explains that it is not simply a result of schooling, but states that academic capital is in fact the guaranteed product of the combined effects of cultural transmission by the family ad cultural transmission by the school (the efficiency of which depends on the amount of cultural capital directly inherited from the family). (Bourdieu, 1996, p. 23). In addition, Bourdieu pointed out that although schools claim to be meritocratic institutions that judge based on individual aptitudes, they are actually duplicating social stratification by basing rewards on cultural capital and hereditary privileges. Albuquerque: University of New Mexico Press, 2001. Andrien s book is a historical summary of the Andean region from native people to after the Spanish conquest. It addresses economy, culture, and the importance of religion, as well as power structures. There is an emphasis on the continued existence of indigenous culture despite Spanish involvement for hundreds of years. The book is important in situating the context in which Rose of Lima lived and the native traditions that would have influenced her and her family. Andrien s book can be used in understanding the historical events that led up to Spanish rule and the importance of Catholicism and the power it held over the native people and how it was used to establish Spanish control. Achieving Sustainable Development Goals At A Un Summit The United Nations General Assembly has officially adopted the Sustainable Development Goals at a UN summit in New York City as of September 27, 2015 that are to be globally implemented by 2030. This essay will discuss goal 13 take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts , along with its five targets. Are the Targets Truly Measurable? The most concretely measureable target under SDG 13 is 13.a. A deadline for this target is clearly stated along with the funds and specific parties needed to create a global impact. One will be able to identify progress, or lack of, by 2020. Target 13.b is unspecified and extremely vague, not indicating effective strategies for its measurability. LDC s often contribute least to climate change yet are expected to suffer the greatest, there is no specific source in this target to aid these countries in raising their planning capacities. Target 13.1 is vague making it difficult to assess if a country perhaps has not achieved this target, it only focuses on extreme events when developing resilience and adaptive capacity to gradual shifts in climate change is crucial (ICSU, 2015). The target would need further specification and a timeframe. Target 13.2 can be measured as one can identify if and when climate change protocols are implemented into a nations policies and whether or not they are put into effect, however focus on only the national level is too narrow as mitigation policies can be used on different scales such as ... Critics say it lacks discipline and fails to recognize the true story of a holocaust survivor, yet that was not Spielberg s ambitions. When I told them what I was doing there taking pictures and writing things down they were very helpful to talk to me about the cemetery. They were unfortunately unable to help me find the items on my list of observations to find because of size of the cemetery. There was a lot of plots and not in any order for me to find my items. So, I just walked around on my own.One of the first things I notice was a lot of married plots of husband and wife. They were all very similar in style and had the intertwined rings with the names on either side. I also noticed that some had pictures of the married couple in the headstonewhich I have never seen before and thought that was very unique1. These pictures were of their wedding photo. A lot of these headstones were not finished, as in either the husband or wife were still ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 49. How Does Shakespeare Use Ethos In The Winter s Tale Words are a tremendously powerful tool that can spark different emotions and reactions causing us to question our intentions. With such passionate displays of raw emotions, Shakespeare is able to captivate his audience in The Winter s Tale. Each character displays such authentic feelings that gives life to each word on the page, helping the reader develop the sense of power and control our feelings can often mimic. The best way to interpret the play is to submerge ourselves into these characters realistic emotions that cling to each word. Shakespeare can connect to his reader s emotions while by demonstrating with each character how powerful words can be. His use of pathos in his writing helps connects empathy to the characters creating reactions... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the article, The Pedagogy of Emotional Response: Feeling Shakespeare s The Winter s Tale by James Lambert, he refers to the Cognitive Emotional Pedagogy which is a a relatively recent theory that maintains that the brain s cognitive functions are activated by a person s emotional memory and state (28). As in, the best way to interpret this play is for the readers to develop a sense of feeling to the play in order to analyzing and learn from it. I believe Shakespeare is able to do that by demonstrating the influence words have over the characters thus creating the emotional reactions inside the play that the audience can relate too. For example, many people can relate to Hermione where they have tried to convince someone something isn t true but no matter what they say, it will never change. As a teacher, I want my students to be submerge in this plays ability to use words to manipulate emotions and put themselves in the character s positions of authenticity and vulnerably. Lambert also stated, Cognitive Emotional Pedagogy is an exciting and fertile approach to teaching, but the reason it has not affected higher levels of education, including university and graduate level training, is probably because it asks teachers to integrate their own emotional experience with that of the students, which can result in the discomfort of confession and self exposure. Too often a student s preconceived emotional state, like anger or depression, is brought to bear in class discussions rather than their a priori emotional response to a text within the class (28). I found this quote interesting because it is true, Shakespeare does bring up emotional text that most people want to avoid because it makes us uncomfortable. Too often we avoid talking about the hard to deal with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 50. Segmented Polyurethanes Can Be Represented By Three Basic... Segmented polyurethanes can be represented by three basic components in the following general form: P (D(CD)n P)n Where P is the polyol, D is the diisocyanate and C is the chain extender. Polyol, or the so called soft segment, is an oligomeric macromonomer comprising a soft flexible chain terminated by hydroxyl ( OH) groups. The chain extender is usually a small molecule with either hydroxyl, or amine end groups. The diisocyanate is a low molecular weight compound that can react with either the polyol or chain extender, leading to the interesting segmented structure. In linear polyurethanes, the three components have a functionality of two. If a branched or crosslinked material is desired, multifunctional polyols, isocyanates, and sometimes chain extenders can be incorporated into the formulation. Due to the statistical nature of the copolymerization, polyurethanes have both a distribution in total molecular weight and adistribution in the hard segment sequence length, those copolymer sequences denoted as D(CD)n, that follow essentially a most probable distribution. The principle chemical reaction involved in the synthesis of polyurethanes is the urethane forming reaction, i.e., the reaction between isocyanate and hydroxyl groups. Because this is a nucleophilic addition reaction, it is catalyzed by basic compounds such as tertiary amines and by metal compounds such as organotin. Urethane formation is actually an equilibrium reaction; the presence of catalyst therefore ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
