1. Safety Rules Charades
Students will choose one of the safety rules from a hat and then they must
act out the breaking of that rule. Student groups will then write down their
guesses on the small white boards to share with the class.
1. Students will have groups assigned by the teacher.
2. Students will choose a team name and a team leader.
3. The team leader will be the only person from the team to say the
answers when called on by the teacher.
4. One student will be the recorder, they write down the team’s guess.
5. One student from the group will be the actor. They will act out the
incorrect lab procedure written on the paper.
6. Teams will be awarded 10 points for each correct rule the name.
The rules we will use will be:
1. Long hair is tied back in the lab.
2. No loose or baggy clothing in the lab.
3. No food or drinks during lab.
4. No horseplay in the lab.
5. Keep hands away from face while working with chemicals or animals.
6. Always wear safety goggles.
7. Keep your work area clean and neat.
8. Report any accident to the teacher immediately.
9. Do not taste or smell chemicals unless told to do so.
10.Never handle any animal if the teacher is out of the room.
11.Do not tease or handle animals roughly.
12. Always carry the microscope with both hands.
13.Never go in the storage room without permission.
14.Never pick up hot or broken glass with bare hands.
15.Never cut anything TOWARDS oneself, always cut away from you!
16. Know where the safety equipment is and how to use it.
