General Safety Rules
• Report all injuries to your supervisor immediately, no matter how slight they might
be.
• If in doubt about the safe or proper way to do the job, get instructions from your
supervisor before proceeding – Don’t Guess!
• Be constantly on the alert for unsafe conditions or acts and report such to your
supervisor.
• Be thoroughly familiar with your surroundings, the operation and the location or
other employees, so that you can foresee possible dangers.
• Horseplay is never permitted. Do not distract or interfere in any way with another
employee who is performing his/her job.

Emergency Measures
Always know the exit locations and emergency exit procedures.
YELL for assistance ~ get someone’s attention
Survey the scene to determine if it is safe and deal with hazards if you
can do so safely (i.e., extinguish flames; turn off equipment such as
motors, heat guns, etc.)
If a Coworker is experiencing a medical problem or injury:
Do a primary survey of victim: check for responsiveness (i.e. airway,
breathing and circulation, but do not risk further injury by moving or
disturbing unnecessarily).
Notify Supervisor or Phone 911 if appropriate. Know the phone
numbers to call.

Employee Responsibilities
Comply with all safety rules.
Wear all required personal and company protective equipment.
Report all unsafe conditions and incidents promptly.
Offer suggestions for accident prevention - be involved.
Help new employees; ensure they understand safety
procedures and rules.

Housekeeping and 5S Initiative
– Good housekeeping is everyone's responsibility. People with
pride in their workplace have fewer accidents.
– Aisles, walkways and roadways must be kept clear.
– Spills and trash must be cleaned up immediately.
– Work waste must be cleaned up before leaving the area.
– Work areas should be maintained in a neat and orderly
manner, including break areas.

Tools and Equipment
Use the correct tool (or equipment) for the job. Much pain and suffering
can be avoided by using each tool correctly and with injury prevention in
mind.
Be knowledgeable before using a tool or piece of equipment. DO NOT
force tools!
Inspect tools before using them. Tag and report all tools and machines
in need of repair.
Fans used in work areas should be guarded, and guards must not allow
fingers to be inserted through the mesh.
Make sure all safety guards are in place and working.
Keep all tools clean and stored properly.
