WHAT IS SEX/SAFE SEX???
• In biology, sex is a process of combining and mixing
genetic traits, often resulting in the specialization of
organisms into a male or female variety (known as a
  sex).
• ‘Safer sex', also referred to as 'protected sex', is
greatly used by health workers and is defined as
"sexual activity engaged by people who have taken
precautions to protect themselves against sexually
transmitted infections and diseases such as AIDS.''
• Individuals use the term 'safe sex' to refer to the
protection against pregnancy, HIV/AIDS or STDs.
• Safe sex practices became more prominent in the
late 1980s as a result of the AIDS epidemic.
TOOLS FOR SAFER SEX
             1. Condoms
              2. Oral Sex
              3. Toy Sex
           4. Masturbation
         5. Moral Constraints
         6. Contraceptive Pills
      7. Contraceptive Injections
PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE SEX
• Today's individuals "must protect themselves and each
other" from "incurable and life-threatening diseases“
• Some of the precautions that have caused individuals to
become more cautious when indulging in sexual
  relationships:
1. The avoidance of physical contact, also known as
   autoeroticism.
2. Non-penetrative sex.
3. Example of a barrier protection would be the use of
either female or male condoms, dental dam (latex
sheet) when indulging in oral sex, medical gloves,
cleaned dildos or other sex toys.
ALWAYS REMEMBER
                  • While indulging in sexual
relationships, one must always remember to:

1. limiting the numbers of sexual partners
2. using prophylactics
3. avoid bodily fluid exchange
4. resisting the use of drugs that reduce inhibitions for
     high-risk sexual behavior.
RISKS OR CONSEQUENCES
• Risk is classified as either being documented
(transmission that has actually occurred, been
investigated, and documented in the scientific
literature) or theoretical (passing an infection from
one person to another is possible).
• The risk reduction of safe sex is not absolute.
• There are many consequences of sex, whether safe
  or unsafe.
1. PHYSICAL CONSEQUENCES
• Individuals get infected from STDs such as
  AIDS, Gonorrhea, etc.
• Female partners may get pregnant (emphasis
  on Teen Pregnancy)
• Herpes, Genital warts, Pubic lice etc from skin
  contact.
• Use of contraceptive measures resulting in
  internal and external bodily disorders.

 Herpes can
     come
  anywhere
      (not
 necessarily
    only on
    mouth)
Beware of these…these are very
        disturbing!!!!!
2. EMOTIONAL CONSEQUENCES
• There is a high tendency of teenage boys leaving
their girlfriends who have been their sexual partner,
after having sex with them. When this happens, the
girl feels used, sexually abused and wronged. She
suffers from depression not only from a broken
relationship but also because she gave in to his
sexual desires and lost her virginity.
• A sense of betrayal and abandonment, confusion
  about romantic feelings, altered self-esteem,
depression, and impaired ability to form healthy
  long-term relationships.
3. SPIRITUAL CONSEQUENCES
• According to Christianity marriage is valued by God
and engaging in premarital sexual relationship is sin.
• From the Christian spiritual viewpoint, there is only
one kind of safe sex; sex between two married
  individuals.
• Sex is meant to be private.
• After having sex outside a wedlock, one realizes that
it also interferes in one’s relationship with God
because, “…you feel you’ve betrayed God and
  yourself.”
• In Hinduism, sexual activity is part of an
obligation duty and not to be misused for
enjoyment as it would lead to attachment
  delusion and one’s downfall.
• For many Hindus premarital sex is not just a
taboo but a great sacrilege in many Hindu
families who are committed to Hindu way of
  life.
• For parents it would be a great calamity if
their children are found involved in premarital
  relationships.
4. PSYCHOLOGICAL CONSEQUENCES
• The most psychologically safe situation for a
sexual relationship has the dynamics of a
loving committed relationship like a marriage.
• Pre-marital sex is likely to cause feelings like
  shame, guilt and/or rejection.
• This may later develop into low self esteem
and chronic depression. In extreme cases, it
also leads to suicidal attempts and suicides.
CONTD…..
• In western side of the world, losing virginity is
  not a big deal however.
• One will score a big point if she doesn’t get
  pregnant after her first intercourse.
• One feels superior as s/he knows more about
  the subject.
CONCLUSION
“Prevention is better than Cure.”

Be reserve in what and how you choose to do.
Make sure you don’t put yours or anyone else’s
life and future at stake. Stay safe and be
healthy. Satisfy your needs in a proper way.
Save sex, Try Safe Sex.
