Sacha parkinson radio show review
1. Story 1: Sacha Parkinson Radio Show Review:
For my firstradioshowI talkedaboutSacha Parkinsonandherrole innew seriesof a show. This
style of radiois a simple radioshowinmyopinionbecause it’sjustexplainingaboutaperson’s
careerwhichcouldbe boringtothe audience whoaren’treallyfansof Sacha’swork.Althoughtothe
audience whofindsSachaa role model andare fansthentheywouldfindthe show more of a fact as
I tell themimportantinformationwhichcouldpromotethe actoras well asthe TV programme.
The overall message of the showwasto simplyexplainanactressesnew role inashow, thiswill
appeal topeople thatare interestedinthe actressescareerorare fansof the show andwouldlike to
knowmore about what’scomingupinthe new season.Iusedlanguage andfacts about the person
to make it more entertainingandinformal tothe showstargetaudience, alsothisshow wouldbe
appealingtothe local areaas Sacha wasborn and raisedinManchesterpeople wouldliketoknow
aboutthisas a formof inspirationtolocal upandcomingactresses/actors.
The voice usedwasmy voice whichismale,Itriedto use serioustonestomake itclear andapproach
the facts I plannedtotell the audience inawell understoodmanor. Myvoice wasalsoinformal and
directto the audience explainingclearlythroughoutthe story, there mayhave beenpartswhich
where Istutteredormumbledwhichcould’veeffectedandhave beenadisadvantage towardsthe
overall story. There was nonoticeable tagline orsloganusedinthe story,it wasa storybasedon
fact and wasstrictlydirectto the audience.
The story wasn’tbasedona companyor a product butwas on a person,sothat person’sname was
mentionedaround6timesasthat was the mainsubjectof the story. I particularlymentionedSachas
name at the start of sentencesbecause Iwill be explaininghercareerduringthe story, all the co-
subjectwasaboutthe seriesof Mr Selfridge whichwasmentionedthroughoutthe storyaswell.I
mentionedthislotaswell becausethiswasalsoa priority of the storyabout Sacha beingapart of
the Mr Selfridge show.
I didn’tmentionanycontactdetailsspecificallybecause there wasnocontactneeded;itwasa fact
type storywhichjustmeansthat I was explainingthe actor’slife throughstory.Sonodetailswhere
needed. The musicplayedinthe backgroundof myvoice wasjusta soothing beattokeepthe show
alive;thisisgoodbecause withoutabeatinthe backgroundthe show wouldbe leftblandandboring
as my voice isn’tusedwithmuchenthusiasmwhichcouldhave beenimprovedon.
The main purpose of the advertwasfor it to be directand informal towardsthe listeningaudience,
so the overall purpose wasforitto be clear anduse lotsof facts to keepthe audience interested. For
some the story wouldseemboringandnon-understandable butthe storyisspecificallymeantfor
the fans of Sacha Parkinsonorpeople whoenjoywatchingMrSelfridgesothisstorywouldtell the
more on whattheyneedto knowaboutit.I thoughtthe newsstorywas goodin the way of it being
informative and tell the audience directlywhattheyneedtoknow aboutSacha Parkinson, the use of
facts aboutherself andthe showwill keepthe peoplelisteningentertainedandinterested.WhatI
didn’tfindvery well wasmytone of voice, itwasveryblandand boringsonexttime Iwoulduse a
more livelyvoice andtobe more enthusiasticaboutthe show.
2. Story 2: Beast rampz promotion radio show review:
The style of radio issimple yetdirect, Itryusinginformal language andinformationwhichcouldgrab
the viewer’sattentiontoultimatelypromotethe businessimtryingtopromote.Asthe radioshowis
a promotive storyIuse a serioustone of voice toshow that it’snota jokeysituation, andthe
audience shouldtake itinasimportantand a useful piece of information. The overall massageof the
showwas to explainhowgoodbeastRampzisandhow people needtogovisithence itgainingmore
businessandpromotingthe facility.
There wasonlyone voice usedthroughoutthe storywhichismy voice,Itriedto keepitclearso that
the audience canfullyunderstandwhatimtryingtotell them. The tone of language Iusedwasreally
seriousandinformal towardsthe listener;the informationIwasprovidingwasaboutpromotinga
businesssonojokeyvibe of voice wasusedwhichcouldbe quite boringbutcollective.
There wasno tag line or sloganusedduringthe show, itwasmainlyseriouspromotingnota genuine
advertso no tag line orsloganwasintended. The companywasmentionedon anestimate of 8 times
thisisa goodamountbecause youdon’twant to mentiontheirname tooftenbecause youwantto
talkmore about theirbusiness.Alsoconsideringthe durationof the show thisnumberisaroundthe
goodamount of timestokeepthe audience understandingwhatimtalkingabout.
There were contactand detailsmentionedinthe show because the facilityisbeingpromotedinthe
storyso detailswill needtobe intendedtopromote the business.Imentionthere skate parks
numberandaddressfor the people whoare unsure of the park will know where tofinditthus
promotingthe parkand gainingnewcustomers.
There wasa little jingle/beatinthe backgroundof the storytokeepitalive andlessboringforwhen
imnot talking, withoutmusicthe storywouldbe veryblandandboringforthe people whoaren’t
exactlyinterestedinwhatimtalkingabout.The musicandsoundsare newsrelatedthisshowsthat
the story ismore real and life like astheyuse these typesof soundsinreal newsstories, somusicis
goodto use in the newsstoriesimproducingtokeepthe audience more entertained.
The overall mainpurpose of the advertisto give the audience informationaboutalocal skate park
facilitywhichcouldinterestthe viewer.Ididthistype of show togain more customersandbusiness
for beastrampzSkate Park, that’swhyI give importantinformationawaytothe people listeningsoif
the viewersdobecome interestedtheywill know where tofindthe skate parkor contact them.I
hope that the showwill gainmore people togive beastrampzatry and promote theirbusinessin
differentways.
I thoughtthe advertwas goodbecause itgivesyouall the researchand informationnew viewerswill
needtogive the facilityatry, whatcouldbe improved ismyvoice beingabitloaderandbeingmore
enthusiasticwhentalking,thiswilljustmake the show more entertainingthanblandboringandlack
of funI’ve putintomakingthe show.
3. Story 3: Student voting radio show review:
The style of advertfor the studentvotingnewsstoryisa seriousstorytoshow the audience and
explainwhatstudentsthinkaboutvotinginthe general election.Iuse informal languagetomake
the story soundseriousandattract the viewer’sattentionandlistentowhatI have to say.The
overall message forthe showisforthe people listeningtoknow whatit’slike forlocal studentsto
vote and whattheythinkaboutvotinginthe election.Iinterviewed2studentswhogave me their
feedbackonwhotheyvotedforand whytheyvoted,alsoanotherstudentwhowasunderage and
couldn’tvote butgave inputon whatshe thoughtaboutit and whoshe wouldhave votedforif she
was the rightage.
There were 3 voicesusedinthe whole show, one beingmyvoice becauseIamthe one whois
explainingandinterviewingthe local students.The other2 voicesusedwere ayounggirl’svoice and
a youngman’s voice these twoare randomstudentsatcollege explainingtheirthoughtonthe
general election. The tonesof language usedwereaserioustone because we were tryingtoget
across the audience whattheythoughtof votingwhichisinformal tothe viewer.
There wasno tag line or sloganusedinthe show, alsothe show was notbasedon a product or
companyso no sloganswere intendedandthere wasnoname to be mentionedinthe show. The
contact detailswere invalidasIdidn’thave the rightto give themplusthe detailscouldn’thave been
mentionedinthe showbecause the show wasn’ttalkingaboutacompanywithdetails.
There wasa little beat/jinglysongplayedinthe backgroundof the show thisjustmakesthe show
lessboringthanhavingto heara blandvoice talkfor a few minutes.
The main purpose of the advertwasto show the local listenersonwhatstudentsthoughtabout
voting, that’swhyI interviewedpeople toshow otherlocal peoplewhatthe youngergenerationhad
to say aboutthe general election.Thisisagood wayfor studentstohave theirinputonwhat they
thinkif theyare unable tovote, asone of the intervieweeswill explain duringthe show.
I thoughtthat the advertwas goodinthe waythat itsveryinformal andgivesa bunchof information
aboutthe thoughtsof local students, thiscouldbe shownasa use of integrityagainstthe general
electionhavingthe kidswhoknowaboutvotingbeingunable tovote andcouldultimatelychange
the votingage to a yearyoungersothat it wouldbe fairforeveryone.
