This document discusses how software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions like online workspaces are changing how businesses share information in today's environment. Traditional document sharing methods are slow and insecure, while on-premise software is expensive and complex to implement. SaaS solutions offer rapid deployment, security, compliance support, and low costs. Online workspaces in particular provide a secure way for companies to grant access to internal and external users anywhere. They are proving beneficial for reducing costs and transaction times in processes like financial transactions, safety reporting, and investor communications. As work becomes more decentralized, businesses are recognizing SaaS as a better solution for document management needs.

As a follow-on to my SaaS University presentation "Multi-Tenancy in SaaS: The Business Case" we have put together a webinar with some industry insiders. In addition to me representing Sixteen Ventures, Mike Dunham from Scio Consulting, and Rick Chapman of Softletter will be on the panel. Jeremy Beck of Scio will be the moderator.
The idea behind this webinar is to dig a little deeper than I did in Chicago to get to the implementation level of Multi-Tenancy and its various incarnations. I will be speaking on the business implications of each level of tenancy.

Slides from session at SaaS University in Chicago July 1, 2009. SaaS multi-tenancy -- shared infrastructure and resources in a single application that serve multiple clients -- has been the subject of great debate that often begins and ends at the technical / architectural level. Like any good technology decision, multi-tenancy should be driven by the underlying business strategies explored in this seminar. Beyond the acknowledged benefits of improved operational efficiency multi-tenancy allows the SaaS vendor to monetize beyond the application, streamline sales and gain important competitive advantages.

Benefits of Shared Services
Increased Efficiency/Reduced Costs- By employing the use of shares services, for example my organization will be soon transitioning our network/fileserver over to Google Drive. We currently have relied on an internal monitored file server that is our go to place in order to store and share data rather than emailing that information over. But since our Data scientist is moving on to Apple to be a data scientist for them, we have to now employ the use of an intelligent IT system to rely on. Our text shares, “Consequently, information systems that provide business intelligence—by collecting and analyzing data and delivering needed information to the right decision maker at the right time—facilitate the effective management of modern organizations” (Valacich & Schneider, 2016). Ms. Karla Lewis certainly was able to share her corporation is technology driven to assist in IT support. Ms. Lewis mentioned how Shared services are cost effective for business entities rather than one IT person (like my organization) trying to handle various functions on their own without being cost effective.
Improved Levels of Service- The information systems Ms. Lewis utilizes has the knowledge in many levels of service whether it be to provide services to the end user all the way to the data sever behind the scenes. Engility concentration is to make sure that all systems are functioning and above all, secure.
Increased Process Standardization – Sorting out business capacity needs, rather than having multiple enterprises operating different needs just as she explained in her video. Ms. Lewis states how Engility services is a one stop shop for any of shared services necessities.
Enhanced Professionalization- Ms. Lewis emphasizeson how the company she works for selects applicants that have a BA degree, certifications, technical experience, computer science/math experience, and or science-based curriculum.
Improved Opportunities and Motivation- Creative infrastructure activities are what is making social media to be as fun and creative as it is. Data science and information systems are constantly evolving and growing based on how social media has taken the attention from us all.
Better Technology- Integrating different services and data functioning onto one system in order to eliminate multi functioning systems. For example, the current organization I work for is looking to do away with the in-house file server we have and move that job on to Google Drive. This will certainly be a better technology for our organization to all understand.

Discussion 1.
Information systems infrastructure consists the procedures of Software, Hardware, telecommunications, Networks managed by various specialists. Information systems are complementary networks like an organization that transcend information. Mainly it has 7 main components like Hardware platforms, Operating Systems, Software applications etc.
Information is data given meaning usually through some form of processing and combination with other data. Data is one of individual fact. An information system that collects, processes, manipulates, stores and communicates data according to a set of rules. It may include a methodology for update and feedback.
Usually, we can see information systems as two types. 1. Simple information systems 2. Complex Information systems.
A simple information system can be represented by Rolodex of names, addresses and telephone numbers
A complex information system could be a computer capable of storing the information on many Rolodexes, plus pictures, likes and dislikes, appointments and correspondence, organizing it for retrieval, a keyboard for input, a screen to view it, a printer for retrieval, a disk drive to store it and software to manage it.
Commonly an information system may only refer to a database management system which handles all the functions of collecting, managing, storing and retrieving the Rolodex information. Commonly today’s technological society, information systems are thought of within the context of the technology such as computers and software, but that need not be a case. As noted earlier, a Rolodex is also an information system
IS Evolution: Technology evaluation has impacted our lives positively over the last two decades so we should expect the same or similar outcomes from the future. If we observe the IT infrastructure evaluation, we can find several implementations from Enterprise computing to Cloud and mobile computing. Due to the implemental changes in Information systems, technology revolution happened over two decades.
Now an estimated 2.3 billion people worldwide using internet access and it became affordable. Technological advancements have had affects in all areas Health, Advertisement, Finance, Entertainment, just anything we can think about.

Discussion 2.
In 1960s a 5 MB of capacity was acquired a truck and now we can see terabytes of information in our grasp. This is an advancement of information frameworks. Today a huge number of clients are making information regarding content, voice, video and so forth. The association of this information is a major test for a portion of the organizations. Presently we are talking not as far as Gigabytes or Terabytes but rather Zettabyte (1000000000 TB).
So as to deal with this information three noteworthy developing patterns are approaching:
1. Democratization of Data: By making the information fair implies that information ought to be accessible for all. There ...

As you all know by now we recently acquired the online widget retailer Widgets – R – Us. The payoff from joining with them is that it puts us into the position to become the world’s leading widget supplier, The acquisition of a retailer aspect to our already successful manufacturing company is a positive move and puts us ahead, especially after the recent bankruptcy of We Sell U Widgets thus management revolution through integration of these two ventures is no longer in doubt but a necessity.
1. Current infrastructure.
Widgets R Us or Widgets USA are both not in a technological position to handle the type of expansion we are considering undertaking. Our individual hardware and software needs as a company we are enlisting your help and advice to put us into a position to move forward. Integrating our business support systems managed by the IT department and operations support systems handled by the network team will boost the operational capacity and efficiency and thus better synchronizing of the technology backbone.
2. Network Types.
We have 3 different network types manly (Internet, intranet, extranet).
· Internet
This is the world-wide network of computers accessible to anyone who knows their Internet Protocol also called the ip address. All you need to access the Internet is your ip address and a computer. IP address is a unique set of numbers that defines the computer's location (e.g. 100.3.9.1) .The Internet is now global and can be accessed by anyone who can get access from an Internet service provider.
· Intranet
This network that is not available to the world outside of the Intranet it’s a personal network owned by the organization. The Intranet network is connected to the Internet then the Intranet will be hidden behind a firewall and thus if it allows access from the Internet it becomes an Extranet. The firewall helps in controlling access in between the Intranet and Internet and to permit access and control traffic to the Intranet and allow only the people who are members of our organization to gain access. The company mostly uses t for printing purposes to the central networked printers.
· Extranet
An Extranet is an Intranet that’s partially accessible to people authorized but outside the organizations intranet. The actual server, the computer that serves up the web pages, will reside behind a firewall that protects any intrusion. Access levels can be changed for different individuals and groups and this is done through access usernames and passwords.
3. Types of business software
· ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) SYSTEMS ...
This is a discussion of how firms that build strong skills in software development and data analytics, especially intelligent analytics, will dominate their industries in the next few years.
Virtual Data Steward: Data Management 3.0CrowdFlower
