The Russian Language School in Milton Keynes was started in October 2013 and is run by the Russian-Speaking Community Milton Keynes. It has 27 students across 3 classes - one preschool class and two primary classes. The school aims to teach Russian language, literature, culture and traditions to students on Saturdays. It hopes to expand its programs to include under 3s and over 8s. The school takes pride in its motivated teachers and engaged student community. It also aims to improve its organization, curriculum planning, and partnerships with parents and other schools.

Editor's Notes
M: The russian school Luchik was founded by a group of enthusiastic mums and dads who wanted their children to know where they come from and keep the language. Being able to speack the language and knowing the culture of where you come from is an importan part you knowing who you are, where you belong to. Allot of us have relatives in other countries, so the only way for our children to be part of their lives is to be able to easily communicate in their language. We dont expect the grandparents of our kids to suddenly learn English, but our children are capable of learning and speaking their mother tongue.
M:
M: Our school focuses on helping children to develop the relevant knowledge of of Russian language, culture and traditions, as well as confidence building (through theatre), and the development of creativity (through art and craft activities).
Our curriculum consists of the following subjects:
M: In order make the learning process as efficient as possible and allow all the pupils maximising the individual attention by the teachers we offer multiple age groups.
The programme is designed to deliver basic and at the same time comprehensive language and craft skills focusing on developing Russian speech, reading and writing. The teaching technique is based on the 2nd native language topology and covers the following subjects:

M:We make sure we promote positive learning environment:
Teachers compose creative lesson plans which get checked and confirmed by our head teacher.
We send our teachers on teaching courses.
We are aware of SEN and SAFEGUARDING.
Our teachers use veriety of learning styles: audio ( songs) visual (pictures&videos) and kinaesthetic (activities like craft, dance and active games).
We try to differentiate children by their abilities, that is why we insist on small classes 6-12 kids max.
We use comprehensive assessing techniques: asess during lesson, end of term and end of year, also the whole community has a chance to see (and assess) what children have learnet on our Kids club events.
Kids club happens once a month where anybody with kids can come and play together. For these events we also organize little puppet teatre, art and craft activities, drinks and snacks. So it is fun for everyone.
