In these nine areas, HSI-Miami conducts investigations on financial crimes, cyber-crimes, child exploitation, homeland investigations, human trafficking, human smuggling, transnational gangs, counter-proliferation, narcotics, enforcement, worksite enforcement, identity and benefit fraud, and IP and trade enforcement. Every year, the population grows more and with population growth occurring, does crime rates increase, decrease or stay steady? To find the answer, I will explain the following: 1. Understand HSI’s role in securing the homeland from transnational threats and criminal organizations. 2. Conduct a literature review about the relationship between population growth and crime rate. 3.
