In the health care industry, it has changed the way health care services are provided. It turns out to be a critical tool for competition in the health care market. Quality has now been at the forefront when it comes to shaping any health care program (Feenberg, 2012). This makes health care institutions to strive and produces better services to its customers. A look at surgical procedures together with state of the art proper care method, an important position from the infirmary is represented by the technology. Compared to the past, health care institutions have now been successful when it comes to performing a number of lifetime harmful and critical surgical procedures (Mali, 2012). All these are attributed to advanced models to be used in surgeries brought about by technology. There is much equipment that has been brought about by technology advancement including 3D echocardiogram and CT reconstruction. These two have made surgery more efficient by improving imaging capabilities which enable surgeons to operate without hindrances on the human body (Raza, Sabik, Masabni, Ainkaran, Lytle, W. B., & Blackstone, 2014). Healthcare services have improved too, by the introduction of robotic surgery and teleconferencing. The latter has enabled doctors to provide knowledge and expertise far and wide irrespective of their physical location. They can monitor, track and communicate with their patients to help them keeping tabs on their ailments (Raza, et al., 2014). in this day and age. New tools and ways of doing things have been introduced enabling doctors to be more efficient when doing surgery. Doctors do not even need to be in the same locations as the patient to do surgery or prescribe medication. Knowledge from all over the world can be accessed with the touch of a button this has improved the provision of medical services tremendously. This has benefited many people all over the world and made healthcare delivery easier (Lamba, 2011).
Some of the equipment that has been brought about by technology advancement include; 3D echocardiogram and CT reconstruction. These two have made surgery more efficient by improving imaging capabilities which enable surgeons to operate without hindrances on the human body (Sabik, MD, 2014). Healthcare services have improved too, by the introduction of robotic surgery and teleconferencing. The latter has enabled doctors to provide knowledge and expertise far and wide irrespective of their physical location. They can monitor, track and communicate with their patients to help them keeping tabs on their ailments (Raza, et al., 2014). Robotic surgery helps doctors conduct surgery remotely with the use of a machine that can multitask and overcome some of the limitations a human doctor may have. This improves the likelihood of an operation to be successful which benefits both the physician and the patient.
Use of these new technologies is compulsory as not only have they made surgery more efficient but also tackled some challenges that were considered impossible in the past such as organ replacement and valve replacement in the aorta (Lamba, 2011). In addition to this technology has changed the way surgery is done by finding more effective and efficient ways of carrying out complicated procedures through extensive research. It is not a surprise that there are now less invasive operation procedures that enable doctors work and stitch you up in no time leaving no scars.

Electronic Health Records advancements have been on the rise since the inception of information technology. One of the most recent technological developments in the healthcare industry is the patient monitoring technology. The article selected was titled “Data overload, access and affordability limit patient monitoring technology.” This paper seeks to investigate the rationale behind choosing the topic on patient monitoring technology, the impact of the technology on medical facilities, the advantages and disadvantages of using the technology, how informatics skills and knowledge were used in the process relevance to developing the impact of patient monitoring technology as well as futuristic recommendations for any physicians and manufacturers of the technology.

One of the most recent technological developments in the healthcare industry is patient monitoring technology. The article selected was titled “Data overload, access and affordability limit patient monitoring technology.” The rationale behind choosing this topic is to understand the importance of patient monitoring technology in healthcare today. As they are relatively new to the market, few books have been written about the various patient monitoring technologies available. This paper investigates their impact on the healthcare industry, the advantages, and disadvantages of their use, as well as any futuristic recommendations on the technology to healthcare practitioners (Mohammadzadeh & Sadfari, 2014). Even though most physicians are aware of the benefits associated with the use of patient monitoring technology, many shy away due to the numerous glitches in access, high costs associated with its use, and the threat of data overload.
Patient monitoring technology has a huge positive impact on the healthcare industry. The technology is used heavily for the remote tracking of major cardiovascular diseases, which cause close to 30% of the deaths in the world yearly. The diseases are triggered by various issues, including diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, lack of exercise, smoking, as well as excessive consumption of alcohol (Darvish et al., 2014). Approximately over 50 years of telehealth development has seen tackling of numerous medical conditions through the utilization of different types of technologies. Tele healthcare has been associated with a wide variety of outcomes in the healthcare. Despite the fact that it as shown great promise in the modern times, it has also triggered a number of challenges for interpretation and technical issues that are linked to the lack of technological expertise among the healthcare practitioners. For instance, then challenges that exist in defining such terms as telehealth is a reflection of the broader difficulties when it comes to the interpretation of the complex interplay that exists between clinical output, patient involvement, service designs and technology. Despite these significant challenges whose impacts in the healthcare delivery is great, the significance of telehealth practices cannot be overlooked in terms of the patient outcomes and efficiency of healthcare delivery. Tele healthcare has enhanced information sharing between patients and doctors even those who are located in the remote areas. It has made it possible to monitor the progress of patients within and outside the facilities devoid of the need to have physical meetings. According to Agha (2014) “Information technology has been linked to productivity growth in a wide variety of sectors, and health information technology (HIT) is a leading example of an innovation with the potential to transform industry-wide productivity.” Due to evidence-based practice research with informatics in the healthcare setting has proven to be a well-known, much needed entity. Studies have shown the efficiency of technology in healthcare improved documentation for healthcare providers and nurses. Healthcare technology also provides a means for organizations to communicate with each other without even picking up a phone. Another, aspect of technology in healthcare allows the healthcare team to monitor trends and changes in a patient’s status. For example, a critical patient on a cardiac monitor would alarm to quickly notify the nurse that a critical change has occurred for timely interventions to take place. With stroke being the fifth leading cause of death in the U.S. adopting Stroke Telemedicine into practice would be innovative for any organization. Much research has shown that healthcare facilities remain untrained and unprepared for stroke care and management.
Proposed Project
The project proposed to better equip my organization with treating stroke patients is Telestroke. According to the Mayo Clinic (2019) “In telestroke, also called stroke telemedicine, doctors who have advanced training in treating strokes can use technology to treat people who have had strokes in another location.” The use of this system is said to reduce wait time for an onsite neurologist and to increase one’s chances of receiving prompt treatment for a desirable outcome. This service will also save money by preventing Medicare and Medicaid from having to pay rehabilitation cost due to disabilities and long-term care. Telestroke will also provide efficient time for Tissue Plasminogen Activator (tPA). The drug tPA is an FDA-approved medication also known as a clot buster use in treating strokes to dissolve that which may be causing an ischemic stroke. However, it is contraindicated with a hemorrhagic stroke which may cause an excessive amount of bleeding if given due to the broken vessels that may have caused the stroke. This service has brought together neurologist and emergency physicians that feel using Telestroke will reduce geographical disparities and prevent increased cost from misuse of other medical facilities.

There is no doubt that the use of technology is increasing all around us. The health care field is no different. Technology now plays a major role in the health care profession. It is almost guaranteed to continue to develop at a rapid rate (Horn, 2017). From electronic heath records to patient portals, I have utilized technology since becoming a nurse, increasing significantly over the last decade. However, at my most current place of employment, we do not use much technology at all. In fact, much of technology is prohibited as I work in a prison. After relying on technology so heavily, it has been a major adjustment to return to the era of very limited technology use. In fact, the only technology we utilize is telehealth.
Telehealth is the “delivery of health care services, where distance is a critical factor, by all healthcare professionals using information and communication technologies for the exchange of valid information for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease and injuries, research and evaluation, and for the continuing education of health care providers, all in the interest of advancing the health of individuals and their communities” (Koivunen, & Saranto, 2018). This method of health care delivery is seen as a means in which to improve communication and enhance patient-centered care (Cipriano, 2011; Virji, Yarnall, Krause, Pollak, Scannell, Gradison, & Ostbye, 2006). As with all technology, there are both facilitators and barriers present with the use of telehealth.
According to the study conducted by Koivunen & Saranto (2018), nurses’ skills in telehealth application were seen as a facilitator to telehealth utilization. However, the same study identified some barriers present. Some of those barriers included nursing’s discomfort with the equipment utilized with telehealth as well as lack of basic computer skills present amongst nurses (Koivunen, & Saranto, 2018). In addition, negative attitudes along with lack of support and training were identified barriers (Koivunen, & Saranto, 2018). It is obvious that the change from traditional face-to-face nursing practice to telehealth requires much support for its users. There is certainly a learning curve with any new technology with experience and attitudes playing a major role in the successful implementation. However, if the proper steps are taken, telehealth can be a cost-effective way to address health care needs and has been shown to improve clinical indicators (Shulver, Killington, & Crotty, 2016).

The methods I am going to use for my qualitative research paper are methods such as interviews, Internet search, and the library.
Hypothesis:
Technology is technology is running at an exponentially increasing rate. This has been really good in the medial field but bad to some people who can’t keep up or simply don’t want to convert to new technology.
Basic information:
The use of cell phones and computers in countries around the world has risen in the past three years, and dramatically so since 2002. In the 16 nations where trends are available, the median percentage of adults owning a cell phone was just 45% in 2002. By 2007, that number had risen to 70%, and in 2010 the median reached 81%. The increase in cell phone ownership was especially noticeable in Russia and Kenya, where cell phone use rose from less than one-in-ten in 2002 to nearly two-thirds in 2010. Cell phone ownership also rose rapidly in Jordan (up 59 percentage points from 2002 to 2010), Argentina (49 points), China (40 points) and Indonesia (38 points). The number of adults who say they use a computer at least occasionally has also risen in the 16 nations where trends are available. In these nations, the median percentage of computer users was just 32% in 2002, but rose to 39% in 2007 and 50% in 2010. In five of these nations, computer use saw a double-digit increase from 2007 to 2010: Russia, Argentina, Turkey, China and Kenya. Furthermore, I wanted to look more into how technology has improved healthcare, and I found how that technology has played a huge role in Anesthesiology. Anesthesiologists help ensure the safety of patients undergoing surgery and childbirth. The anesthesiologist provides care for the patient to prevent the pain and distress they would otherwise experience. Without the help of technology, Anesthesiology wouldn’t be a reliable as it is today. Anesthesiologists use technologies such as gas analyzers; arterial pulse oximeters, electronic infusion pumps, advanced airway devices, portable ultrasound, and echocardiographic imaging have reduced the mortality directly attributable to anesthesia (the Rector and Visitors). This has helped doctors perform surgeries minimizing the chance of error.
Your interpretations of the data:
There is much more quantitative research about the numbers and data I can talk about, but I will save that for the future projects. However, I did include a lot of factual information. My interpretation about the data is good. I believe that technology is growing and will keep growing.
How this research supports your thesis statement:

The healthcare industry and technology are interrelated. Behavioural health is mainly attributed to the type of information a patient has access to. Technology thus plays a big role in giving the correct amount of information (Cypriano, 2011). Through it, the society is able to access information influencing their thought on public health care. In turn this adds on to the way the public and health professionals search for information related to health matters. This shapes the way decisions related to health are made and how they respond to this. Thus the main goal of technology in health care is to help improve the quality of health care and outcomes in health related matters.
In order to improve the quality of life have been major technological advancements. The advancements have had a lot of impact in nearly all fields related to health care. This are mainly by updating the way health records are handled by digitizing them and use of big storage data and cloud computing. Digital health records have replaced the previously used paper records that had their own bit of challenges. In the world of medicine this is a bold move and a major boost. Through the help of coding professionals health professionals have been able to manage tasks and roles more effectively. Implementation of the roles are tasked to nurses and at times technicians.
Nurses are mandated with the task of collecting data and manually uploading it on a digitized central system void of any errors. As soon as the data is uploaded patient records are updated by the medical billers with a unique code of diagnostics. In turn the billings are submitted to insurance companies for medical claims. Patients are therefore able to access their health records easily and are able to spot an error in their records early enough in their treatment. There are benefits attributed to the digital health records just to mention a few.
Data collected is easy to feed into a computer as compared to the paper based methods, thus saves on time. Both nurses and patients are able to spot an error early enough regarding data on the patients diagnostics, financial records or treatment. Productivity is increased the nurses and medical coders can work from anywhere as there is digital access to the medical records. While billing and coding there is ease in the amount to be handled as they are can handle many records at a go. From the collected data it is easier to conduct research and come up with solutions for the various health related problems. Medical researchers can therefore improve on the available knowledge in medicine.

1. Telemedicine is the use of technology to communicate among health professions on the status of a patient’s health. It could include primary care or specialist referral services in which there is need to monitor a patient’s medical and health information. (Jonas & Kovners, 2015). This type of medicine transition patient care from the physician’s office to the patient’s home. Telemedicine holds the promise of being able to provide services to each population with the use of technology in the fields of both health care and communications. For those in remote regions of any state or province, video conferencing and distant consultation could be used to provide care over very large distances.
Describe how it is typically being used in either a rural or an urban setting at the present time.
In the rural setting, a telemedicine health care network consists of rural health care centers that are connected to regional hospitals through telecommunication/data technology and (telemedicine-enabled) medical equipment. The centers have medical personnel who help with doctor -patient interactions and medical examinations. The diagnosis and patient monitoring are all done remotely. (Ishfaq, R., & Raja, U., 2015).
For the setting you chose, what are telemedicine's overall strengths? What are its overall weaknesses?
The overall strengths in the rural setting is the ready assess to health care. The advantages of this include removal of transportation issues to major cities, reduction in cost of health care and the mere fact that health care is available to the people in the rural areas. The overall weakness will include the availability of enough health care centers to cater for the health needs of a community

Laboratory testing is an integral part of any health care diagnosis and treatment therefore it is important to have quick and accurate laboratory results. Point-of-care testing(POCT) has been in existence for a long time and has been proven to be effective. The quick and convenient way of using POCT and the fact that it can be done anywhere is of great importance to many patients in rural areas. There is however the need for training to use the equipment accurately. Other areas of concern would be the weather conditions in the rural areas which could affect the efficacy of the reagents in the equipment.

Marketing and advertising are often used interchangeably, yet throughout this course you have learned that marketing is a much larger concept that requires a
strong understanding of consumer behavior, products and services, and often the greater economic environment. Marketing is applicable to every industry and
discipline in one way or another, but within the sport industry we have the chance to see the application of marketing concepts as if under a spotlight due to the
industry’s global reach and importance to society.
Your final project is the creation of an Opportunity and Consumer Analysis. You will select a sport team, individual, facility, or organization as the focus of your
consumer and opportunity analysis. When selecting your area of focus, think about your interests and career aspirations. As you progress through the course,
you will have the opportunity to practice the skills required for this project in several milestone activities. Your final deliverable will include a strengths,
weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analysis of your selected focus; a consumer analysis; an analysis of successful marketing and media strategies;
and a brief 1-, 3-, and 5-year plan that allows you to explain your intended use of a proven marketing strategy and various media opportunities. Please note that
your Opportunity and Consumer Analysis will be an eligible artifact to include in your program portfolio, as it will highlight your ability to recognize consumer
characteristics and opportunities for brand improvement.
The project is divided into two milestones, which will be submitted at various points throughout the course to scaffold learning and ensure quality final
submissions. These milestones will be submitted in Modules Three and Five. The final Opportunity and Consumer Analysis will be submitted in Module Seven.

Overview
Marketing and advertising are often used interchangeably, yet throughout this course you have learned that marketing is a much larger concept that requires a
strong understanding of consumer behavior, products and services, and often the greater economic environment. Marketing is applicable to every industry and
discipline in one way or another, but within the sport industry we have the chance to see the application of marketing concepts as if under a spotlight due to the
industry’s global reach and importance to society.
Your final project is the creation of an Opportunity and Consumer Analysis. You will select a sport team, individual, facility, or organization as the focus of your
consumer and opportunity analysis. When selecting your area of focus, think about your interests and career aspirations. As you progress through the course,
you will have the opportunity to practice the skills required for this project in several milestone activities. Your final deliverable will include a strengths,
weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analysis of your selected focus; a consumer analysis; an analysis of successful marketing and media strategies;
and a brief 1-, 3-, and 5-year plan that allows you to explain your intended use of a proven marketing strategy and various media opportunities. Please note that
your Opportunity and Consumer Analysis will be an eligible artifact to include in your program portfolio, as it will highlight your ability to recognize consumer
characteristics and opportunities for brand improvement.
The project is divided into two milestones, which will be submitted at various points throughout the course to scaffold learning and ensure quality final
submissions. These milestones will be submitted in Modules Three and Five. The final Opportunity and Consumer Analysis will be submitted in Module Seven.

Progressive developments in science and technology in the 20th century contributed to advances in healthcare and medicine that have helped many lives. Healthcare professionals are confronted with ethical dilemmas and moral questions as the context in which healthcare is provided keeps on changing. Healthcare specialists are required to be dedicated to excellence within their professional practice of promoting community, organizational, family, and individual health. Healthcare code of ethics provides a platform for shared professional values (Wocial & Tarzian, 2015). It is the responsibility of healthcare specialists to reach the best possible standards of conduct and to encourage these ethical practices to those with whom they work together. Healthcare professionals are facing challenges as the context in which healthcare is provided keeps on changing.
The Three Mountains Regional Hospital code of ethics will clarify the roles and responsibilities within the healthcare profession. The code of ethics will also guide the healthcare professionals on addressing common ethical questions. With 15,000 admissions annually, the Three Mountains Regional Hospital requires a code of ethics that will guide the healthcare professionals in the hospital in dealing with such a capacity. Healthcare professionals from the hospital will be defined by their purpose but not their job description (Turner & Epstein, 2015). The proposed code of ethics will inform individual decision-making when faced with ethical situations within a given relationship or role at the Three Mountains Regional Hospital.
Ethics are an essential part of healthcare, and they should provide value in practical situations. The proposed code of ethics will provide a structure and shape to the Three Mountains Regional Hospital’s environment and summarize the healthcare organization’s ethical position. The code of ethics will describe the ethical attitude shared by healthcare workers at Three Mountains Regional Hospital, and it will be valuable and influential on the success of the healthcare organization. Course Description:
This general education course is a study of the birth and evolution of the music form of Rock and Roll. It is a study of both the historical and musical elements of rock with a focus on the performers and the songs in the genre. Some of the objectives for this course include:
Increasing awareness of the wide range of musical styles that “add up” to form rock
Provide insight on the cultural evolution of rock and how it applies to society
Study how technological advances have influenced both the performers and composers in rock

Essay on live musical performance 10%
Essay assignment will consist of attending a live musical performance at the Frost School of Music (or approved off campus performance). At the conclusion of the performance, you will obtain signatures of two or more participants. You will compose an essay that will summarize the performance (ensemble, repertoire, etc.). You will compare and/or contrast the performance with details we have studied in class. The essay should be two to three pages long, computer printed, double spaced, and stapled. It will be due on Thursday, November 19.
Conduct and rules:
Rock and roll is a joyous art form. I intend for the class to be a fun and learning environment. I hope to engage you as adults, not as adolescents. However, inappropriate language or behavior to one another will not be tolerated, and will result in the student facing disciplinary action and potential removal from the class. You are adults. I am not your baby-sitter. If you fail to attend class regularly, you will find it much more difficult to excel in the course. SHOW UP AND PAY ATTENTION! It will make your life easier in the long run. Plagiarism on your essay will not be acceptable, and will result in the loss of 10% of your final grade. Cheating is rampant. While I will make every effort to curb the options students might have to copy one another on tests, I can’t stop it completely. I will have assistance from the Honor Council on test days, and cheating will result in a zero on that test. None of you can afford this. I truly believe that if you will engage the material, come to the lectures, and actively listen to the required listening material, you will not find a need to cheat.

Focus less on competitive advantage and more on growth

tives would probably come up with
something like this: Strategy involves
discovering and targeting attractive
markets and then crafting positions that
deliver sustained competitive advan-
tage in them. Companies achieve these
positions by configuring and arranging
resources and activities to provide either
unique value to customers or common
value at a uniquely low cost. This view of strategy as
position remains central in business school curricula
around the globe: Valuable positions, protected from
imitation and appropriation, provide sustained profit
streams.
Unfortunately, investors don't reward senior
managers for simply occupying and defending po-
sitions. Equity markets are full of companies with
powerful positions and sluggish stock prices. The
retail giant Walmart is a case in point. Few people
would dispute that it remains a remarkable firm. Its
early focus on building a regionally dense network
of stores in small towns delivered a strong positional
advantage. Complementary choices regarding ad-
vertising, pricing, and information technology all
continue to support its low-cost and flexibly mer-
chandised stores.
Despite this strong position and a successful stra-
tegic rollout, Walmart's equity price has seen little
growth for most of the past 12 or 13 years. That's be-
cause the ongoing rollout was anticipated long ago,
and investors seek evidence of newly discovered
value—value of compounding magnitude. Merely
sustaining prior financial returns, even if they are
outstanding, does not significantly increase share
price; tomorrow's positive surprises must be worth
more than yesterday's.
Not surprisingly, I consistently advise MBA stu-
dents that if they're confronted with a choice be-
tween leading a poorly run company and leading a
well-run one, they should choose the former. Imag-
ine assuming the reins of GE from Jack Welch in Sep-
tember 2001 with shareholders' having enjoyed a 40-
fold increase in value over the prior two decades. The
expectations baked into the share price of a company
like that are daunting, to say the least.
To make matters worse, attempts to grow often
undermine a company's current market position.
As Michael Porter, the leading proponent of strat-
egy as positioning, has argued, "Efforts to grow blur

uniqueness, create compromises, reduce fit, and
ultimately undermine competitive advantage. In
fact, the growth imperative is hazardous to strategy."

These feelings aren’t new. They’ve erupted now
and in the past because we don’t like being told how
to behave—and no other group in organizational life,
not even finance, bosses us around as systematically
as HR does. We get defensive when we’re instructed
to change how we interact with people, especially
those who report to us, because that goes right to the
core of who we are. What’s more, HR makes us per-
form tasks we dislike, such as documenting problems
with employees. And it prevents us from doing what
we want, such as hiring someone we “just know” is
a good fit. Its directives affect every person in the
organization, right up to the top, every single day.
The complaints also have a cyclical quality—
they’re driven largely by the business context. Usu-
ally when companies are struggling with labor issues,
HR is seen as a valued leadership partner. When
things are going more smoothly all around, manag-
ers tend to think, “What’s HR doing for us, anyway?”
This doesn’t mean that HR is above reproach.
Quite the contrary: It has plenty of room to improve,
and this is a moment of enormous opportunity. Little
has been done in the past few decades to examine the
value of widely used practices that are central to how
companies operate. By separating the effective from
the worthless, HR leaders can secure huge payoffs for
their organizations. But it’s important to understand
HR’s tumultuous history with business leaders and
the economy before turning our attention to what the
function should be doing now and in the future.
The “Personnel” Pendulum
How top executives feel about HR pretty reliably re-
flects what’s going on in the U.S. economy. When the
economy is down and the labor market is slack, they
see HR as a nuisance. But sentiments change when
labor tightens up and HR practices become essential
to companies’ immediate success.
Think back to the Great Depression. People would
put up with nearly anything to stay employed. Line
managers complained that personnel departments
were getting in the way of better performance, which
they thought could be achieved with the “drive” sys-
tem: threatening workers and sometimes even hit-
ting them if they failed to measure up.
Similarly, business leaders didn’t put a lot of
stock in HR during the 2001 and 2008 recessions, be-
cause employees—keenly aware of how replaceable

Campaign summary
Launched in 2009, the year of Audi’s 100th anniversary,
the Audi Cup is a pre-seasonal worldwide football
tournament. Leading teams including FC Barcelona,

• You must have an audience of at least 5 adults 18 years or older for all speeches. The audience must be live and in person, that is, physically present. Virtual attendance is not permitted. Introduction
Many technologies exist to assist with better clinical documentation and speech recognition technology (SRT) is one
solution. Since SRT uses mathematic probabilities, the technology can be complicated. The goals of its use in
healthcare today, however, are clear: Increase productivity, decrease costs, and improve documentation while
placing it closest to the point of care.
This practice brief focuses on increasing the understanding of how speech recognition works by highlighting the
driving forces that are shaping current and future applications of this technology and its associated benefits and risks.
This practice brief also provides tools including illustrated work flow, tasks and skills, and best practices to assist in
efficient and effective application of SRT for day-to-day operations.
Driving Forces
Payment reform. Quality measures. Meaningful use. EHR adoption. Transition to ICD-10-CM/PCS. Health
information exchange. Consumer engagement. Personal health records and patient portals. What do these areas have
in common? They all point to the increasing need for accurate, complete, and accessible data in an environment that
requires real-time documentation.
Documentation should improve the quality of the patient encounter and create efficiencies.
In the past, handwriting provided an immediate record of care. Legibility came to the forefront as an issue and
documentation was often not as comprehensive when compared to a well-constructed dictated note. Today, speech
recognition or speech-to-text is used in conjunction with the EHR and is considered a viable option in the face of the
growing demand for near-real-time data.
Front-end speech recognition (FESR) and back-end speech recognition (BESR) technologies can help in the
production of legible and comprehensive document(s). It also serves as a productivity tool to help lower costs and
increase productivity, especially when compared to the manual labor required by traditional dictation and
transcription.
Emerging Roles
In 2012, The Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI) coined the term "healthcare
documentation specialist (HDS)," which they define as "an umbrella term that includes medical transcriptionists,
speech recognition editors and QA specialists."1

Jodee: [00:02:12] How has that worked so far just to kind of pair off your response on that TS5 how has it like you're able to see that it's not the Autism that's a problem. How do you stear that to the correct path and have deal with this and what the kid is capable of doing regarding transition.
Sped5: [00:02:34] Well I was fortunate in this area where I think it was an issue of the mom was in denial that it wasn't all the other teachers were like no. This is what this is what he needs. You know because of the IEP I'm trying to get him. You know support all the time and it's just a matter of when they look at the IEP and says why is it that it will be this and this and I'm like I didn't write the IEPP I didn't put down autism. I'll just tell you what I see now what I have and that's what it is. And so it wasn't until at an an IEP meeting that the other teachers who see them every day too are like no this is where he's at. He needs the support he needs this because of x y z. So you know that's just for example.
Jodee: [00:03:25] Okay TS7 I'm going to kind of put you on the spot on for a minute when we talked a couple of days ago about that one student what were some of the things that you might have encountered in working with the parents on regarding transitioning him. Abstract Attention to extreme forms of political violence in the social sciences has been
episodic, and studies of different forms of political violence have followed different
approaches, with “breakdown” theories mostly used for the analysis of right-wing radicalism,
social movement theories sometimes adapted to research on left-wing radical groups, and
area study specialists focusing on ethnic and religious forms. Some of the studies on extreme
forms of political violence that have emerged within the social movement tradition have
nevertheless been able to trace processes of conflict escalation through the detailed exam-
ination of historical cases. This article assesses some of the knowledge acquired in previous
research approaching issues of political violence from the social movement perspective, as
well as the challenges coming from new waves of debate on terrorist and counterterrorist
action and discourses. In doing this, the article reviews contributions coming from research
looking at violence as escalation of action repertoires within protest cycles; political
opportunity and the state in escalation processes; resource mobilization and violent
organizations; narratives of violence; and militant constructions of external reality.

oriented towards developing antiterrorist policies than to a social science understanding of the

involved in the business of counterterrorism, and their vision has been narrowed and distorted
by the search for effective responses to terrorism…. [S]ocial movement scholars, with very few
exceptions, have said little about terrorism” (Goodwin 2004, p. 259). Second, studies of
different forms of political violence have followed different approaches, with “breakdown”
theories mostly used for the analysis of right-wing radicalism, social movement theories
sometimes adapted to research on left-wing radical groups, and area study specialists focusing

Introduction
There has been growing interest in a range of disciplines
(Ackroyd and Fleetwood 2000; Danermark et al. 2002;
Fleetwood 1999; Fleetwood and Ackroyd 2004), not least
information systems (Dobson 2001; Longshore Smith 2006;
Mingers 2004b; Mutch 2010b; Volkoff et al. 2007; Wynn and
Williams 2012) in ideas derived from the philosophical tradi-
tion of critical realism. Critical realism offers exciting pros-
pects in shifting attention toward the real problems that we
face and their underlying causes, and away from a focus on
data and methods of analysis. As such, it offers a robust
framework for the use of a variety of methods in order to gain
a better understanding of the meaning and significance of
information systems in the contemporary world.
Although the term critical realism has been used in a number
of different traditions, we are primarily concerned with that
developed from the foundational work of Roy Bhaskar in the
philosophy of science, later extended in the social arena by
authors such as Archer and Sayer (Archer et al. 1998; Bhaskar
1978, 1979; Mingers 2004b; Sayer 2000). In this tradition,
the benefits of CR are seen as:
• CR defends a strongly realist ontology that there is an
existing, causally efficacious, world independent of our
knowledge. It defends this against both classical positi-
vism that would reduce the world to that which can be
empirically observed and measured, and the various
forms of constructivism that would reduce the world to
our human knowledge of it. Hence it is realist.
• CR recognizes that our access to this world is in fact
limited and always mediated by our perceptual and theo-
retical lenses. It accepts epistemic relativity (that knowl-
edge is always local and historical), but not judgmental
relativity (that all viewpoints must be equally valid).
Hence it is critical in a Kantian sense.
• CR accepts the existence of different types of objects of
knowledge—physical, social, and conceptual—which
have different ontological and epistemological charac-
teristics. They therefore require a range of different
research methods and methodologies to access them.
Since a particular object of research may well have
different characteristics, it is likely that a mixed-method
research strategy (i.e., a variety of methods in the same
research study) will be necessary and CR supports this.
In this introduction, we will first introduce the basic concepts
of critical realism as a philosophy of science.

Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

- 2. 2 Technology has become very useful in many sectors. In the health care industry, it has changed the way health care services are provided. It turns out to be a critical tool for competition in the health care market. Quality has now been at the forefront when it comes to shaping any health care program (Feenberg, 2012). This makes health care institutions to strive and produces better services to its customers. A look at surgical procedures together with state of the art proper care method, an important position from the infirmary is represented by the technology. Compared to the past, health care institutions have now been successful when it comes to performing a number of lifetime harmful and critical surgical procedures (Mali, 2012). All these are attributed to advanced models to be used in surgeries brought about by technology. There is much equipment that has been brought about by technology advancement including 3D echocardiogram and CT reconstruction. These two have made surgery more efficient by

Healthcare services have improved too, by the introduction of robotic surgery and teleconferencing. The latter has enabled doctors to provide knowledge and expertise far and wide irrespective of their physical location. They can monitor, track and communicate with their patients to help them keeping tabs on their ailments (Raza, et al., 2014). Robotic surgery helps doctors conduct surgery remotely with the use of a machine that can multitask and overcome some of the limitations a human doctor may have. This improves the likelihood of an operation to be successful which benefits both the physician and the patient. This is necessary so as to prevent things from going in the wrong direction. Technology has been able to solve this problem. The health care professionals are now able to connect. This is possible away from the medical centers or the medical centers. A specific technology that has made this to be possible is telemedicine. Telemedicine is expressed as the utilization of automated tools so as to enable communication and monitoring of facts to a new health care capability with regards to the

Doctors and nurses can now communicate properly and frequently through the use of computer systems. Superior programs that have been introduced make it possible for the pharmacists to do much superior work, especially in the infirmary. The capabilities of systems for various health care institutions differ due to the composition of different features. Also, accountable care analytics calls for the need to integrate data that comes from many health care provider organizations and systems (Hurley, 2012). This was incredibly complicated at first, but it now takes place in many health care institutions. The data warehouse has been the solution to this problem. Data warehouse gives ample room for storage of more data together with supporting analytics that is more advanced. Systems, such as population health systems are now serving the needs of data integration in various health care institutions. Data
