Student / customer / library engagement roles are relatively new in the sector and Worcester is one of the first universities to recruit to this area. Rather than focusing on the relationship between engagement and learning, this role seeks to engage with students as partners and change agents who are actively involved in evaluating, developing and delivering our library service. This paper will outline some of our initial successes and impacts, which are already changing the way we interact with our student population. It will also cover some of the challenges faced along the way, particularly in delivering service change in the context of the radical new service model of the Hive.

April 29, 2016 To whom it may concern: I had the pleasure of working with Roxy Becker this semester as she served as the teaching assistant for Comm 1001 Introduction to Communication, which was taught online. In her capacity as teaching assistant Roxy answered student emails, graded hundreds of discussion posts, managed the Starfish system, and created/narrated a chapter. It was great working with Roxy because she had excellent time management skills. The course had biweekly discussion posts and not only did she respond to students, but she was responsible for reading and grading each post. This took a tremendous amount of effort and dedication to stay current. It can be challenging to keep online students up to date on course happenings because we do not physically meet. During the semester Roxy asked to take over the weekly recap post and did a great job encouraging and informing the students. Having a class of 80 students in an online environment requires an organized teaching assistant and Roxy did a great job. The class would not have been the same without her efforts.
