To Whom It May Concern:
It is with great pleasure and with great ease to write a recommendation on behalf of Brian
Ouellette. I have worked with Brian in several capacities over the last four years at St. Monica
Catholic School in Dallas, Texas.
Brian is an outstanding teacher who sets high expectations for his students and who helps them
achieve those expectations. Although his class is rigorous and demanding, Brian is kind and fair,
and his students have the utmost respect for him. They know that Brian will go to any lengths to
help them learn required material but more so to have a greater understanding of it and its
significance on a broader scale. On multiple occasions I have seen him work with students before
school, after school, and during his lunch and conference periods; he also has tutored lower
school students at no charge, all out of his sincere devotion to the children and to their success.
Brian also truly understands his students, and he works to build a good rapport with each of
them. His students look up to him as a teacher and as a mentor, and they often seek his advice
not only on academic issues but also on personal issues and questions concerning the Catholic
faith.
Brian is also a leader among the faculty. He served as the Middle School Coordinator for many
years, and he is currently the director of the Learning Center on campus. He has a talent for
organizing and leading large group events, such as week-long student retreats and graduation
ceremonies. Furthermore, he is always willing to collaborate with other teachers and to work on
cross-curricular projects in order to help students make connections between content areas and to
further the learning process. As the director of the Learning Center, he works with teachers and
students to differentiate instruction as necessary and educates parents in the areas of learning
differences and enrichment. Brian constantly strives to improve as an educator through research
and self-evaluation, and by doing so, he is a master teacher and an invaluable resource to his
colleagues.
Brian is a person of unquestionable dignity and professionalism. It has been my sincere pleasure
to have had the opportunity to work with him. I have the utmost respect and confidence in Brian,
and he will undoubtedly be an asset to your campus.
