This document provides information on rope suspended platforms (RSPs). It describes the technical specifications of two RSP models, including rated load, platform dimensions, component weights, and wire rope diameter. Safety requirements are outlined such as minimum illumination, distance between platforms, and personal protective equipment. Operators must be trained and qualified, and safe working load is calculated based on counterweight and platform weights and distances. • Minimum load bearing strength for keeping suspension bracket
unit is 1500Kg/Sq. m.
• Should not to operate if wind speed exceed 40 Km/hr.
• Ensure to maintain 150 LX illumination during night time.
• The minimum distance to be maintained between tow adjacent
RSP is 0.5 m

• The person should wear Helmet, Safety Shoes & Full body safety
harness
• Rope grab fall arrester with life line must for each person
• Proper tying arrangement is required for tying the life line where
the bracket is placed
Operator Qualification
• The person should undergo pre medical checkup
• The person should trained by P&M dept.
• Always keep the operator ID card while working in RSP.

15. • Wire rope end to be properly spliced
• Bulldog grip should be always in live end and clamp should be in
dead end.
• Minimum three U-clamps to be fixed
• Eye should be protected with thimble.

• The moment in the center bracket towards the counter bracket is always three times

• Total weight of the counter blocks (W1) = 1000 Kg.
• Grass weight of the suspended platform (W2) = 860 kg.
Weight of the platform – 310 kg.
Weight of Hoist – 50*2=100 Kg.
Weight of the safety lock & accessories– 20*2 = 40 Kg.
Weight of the persons (3 members) – 210 Kg.
Weight of the material – 200 kg.

Do’s
• Ensure working load must be within 80% of rated load
• If erected RSP in road or passage ensure barricade, warning signs
with watch person.
• Daily inspection by P&M engineer
• Ensure daily cleaning (not to allow debris on platform & wire
ropes)

Dont’s
• Do not run the RSP with full load
• Do not use as a hoisting machine for shifting any materials
• Erect always 10m away form the high voltage line
• Do not operate under rainstorm, thunderstorm, dense fog and heavy snow
• It is prohibited open out swing windows area
• Prohibited to operate by a single person
• It is absolutely prohibited to access from floor when hanging the platform.
• It is prohibited to carry any explosive material such as compressed gas
cylinders.
• Do not tie the life line rope in the suspension bracket
