Queen Alexandra Elementary completes a WildED inspired action project!BC Spaces for Nature
Dear WildED, Both classes have been fully engaged in a sustainability unit which culminated in the action plan to reduce our school's garbage. Throughout the process they have been making presentations to both staff and students to increase their motivation to fully participate in our overall goal. They have taken (WildED's) carbon footprint test and committed to at least one more action to reduce their mark on the world. They have done an amazing job and have already been recognized by the Vancouver School Board for their amazing efforts.
Once again, we thoroughly enjoyed our (WildED) program and would love to hear about your programs next year. Take care and thanks, Grade 4/5 Classroom Teachers, Queen Alexandra Elementary School, Vancouver

This talk focused on how the quality assurance practices need to be seen in different view when the software delivery is done in DevOps and SecOps Approach. SecOps stands for Security Operations. I will talk about the practices like Architecture and Infrastructure readiness , Quality Assurance / Security Assurance and Test Quality Assurance in the pipeline, Dev and Ops Collaboration, Quantitative analysis of the Continuous Delivery System , Periodic Assessment for System Refactoring Pattern, Causal Analysis feedback (Defects, Problems Learning) to CD System.
This talk was given during the Asia Agile Test Alliance Conference 2015. ThiIn this presentation the Agile test practices were mapped to the continuous delivery practices. The presentation provides quick view about the broad anti patterns and then provide the key solution by following the Onion Layered Test Practice Map (Task, Story, Sprint, Release Level). It is well known that without good test practice and quality test, continuous delivery may only give false confidence.

The topic was Knowledge Management through SECI Model and effective Tacit to Explicit Conversion-An experience sharing. This talk focused our experience of knowledge management using the SECI Model. SECI Model focuses on four modes of Knowledge management:
1. Tacit to Tacit (Socialization)
2. Tacit to Explicit (Externalization)
3. Explicit to Explicit (Combination)
4. Explicit to Tacit (Internalization)
Provided details about our experience of converting the tacit knowledge to explicit knowledge. Tacit knowledge is the experience and the knowledge which is residing the minds of people. Many times bringing this out is a big challenge and it gets lost as soon as the member leaves the organization or moves to another project.
In this presentation I shared my perspective about how to use the best of of Lean Startup and Scrum principles for building new product and for any new enhancement projects. Shared the practices like Lean Canvas, Wireframing, Prototyping, One metric that matters, User Story Mapping etc. in the the overall framework of Problem Validation->Solution Validation--> Scale.

Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.

2. Room 4 students counted up and graphed the results of the waste created in our lunch boxes. We did this twice to see if we could make a difference and REDUCE the amount of waste that we create.
3. Here’s what we found......... June 10thJune 17th Gladwrap 18 11 Plastic packets 41 26 Yoghurts 8 5 Cardboard 2 3 Paper 1 0 Tinfoil 11 0 (11 all reused) Plastic bags 3 9 (re-usable) Containers 1 13 (re-usable) TOTAL WASTE 85 45
4. Look how much of our waste is gladwrap and plastic packaging!!!
7. If we have 45 pieces of rubbish in our class per day we worked out: 45 x 5 = 225 pieces of waste per week225 x 10 weeks = 2250 pieces of waste per term2250 x 4 terms = 9000 pieces of waste per year for Room 4 only! That is when we only have two pieces of waste each in our lunchboxes per day.
8. By reducing our waste from four to two pieces per day, our total waste is reduced from 17,000 per year to 9000 per year, just for Room 4.Imagine how much the whole school could reduce if we all tried to have less waste in our lunchboxes!
9. Ways that we can REDUCE the waste in our lunch boxes: Re-use tinfoil and gladwrap Use re-usable plastic containers Use re-usable plastic bags Buy less packaging e.g large bag of chips and put small amounts into containers or re-usable bags Have more fruit Use less gladwrap – not everything needs wrapped Compost our food scraps
10. Ways we can reduce waste in our lunch boxes RE USABLE BAGS Containers REUSABLE WRAPPERS
11. Lunch boxes with NO WASTE! Or here!!!!! There is NO WASTE here!!
12. Room 4 are trying to look after the environment. Are you?
