This document discusses Roman London, including that it was settled by Romans in 60 AD, called Londinium, and had a wall around it. Archaeological finds in London continue to uncover Roman objects, such as coins, and every time a building is torn down an archaeological excavation must take place to uncover more items from Roman London.

2. ROMAN EMPIRE
The Roman Empire covered all of the
area of the Mediterranean Sea,
Western Europe, and England. It
lasted from 2000 BC to 500 AD

3. CALLED “LONDINIUM” BY THE
ROMANS
Built along the Thames River.
Had a wall around it.

4. THE OLD ROMAN WALL
The ancient Roman wall is still visible in
downtown London today.
