Lesotho is an enclaved country completely surrounded by South Africa. It has a population of over 2 million and its capital city is Maseru. Lesotho has one of the highest literacy rates in Africa, with female literacy exceeding male literacy. While corn is used to make pap, a staple porridge, wheat is ground for daily bread and fried doughnuts. The people are encouraged to complete a K-W-L-S chart to track what they know, want to know, have learned and still want to know about Lesotho.

This document is a dissertation submitted by Janet C. Van Heck in partial fulfillment of the requirements for a Doctor of Philosophy in Special Education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The dissertation examines the relationship between the roles and responsibilities of co-teachers and co-teacher self-efficacy. A survey was administered to 320 co-teachers, including 160 general education teachers and 160 special education teachers, in a large urban school district. The survey measured the roles co-teachers report fulfilling and their self-efficacy. The results indicate that co-teachers reported performing fewer roles than they consider best practices. Donald Baer developed applied behavior analysis for people with intellectual disabilities, which improved lives and supported deinstitutionalization. Samuel Gridley Howe founded the first school for people with intellectual disabilities in 1848, though institutions grew despite his warnings against them. James Hinshelwood was the first to recognize and study dyslexia as a medical condition requiring specialized instruction.

Healing is the body’s response to injury in an attempt to restore normal structure and functions.
Healing can occur in two ways: Regeneration and Repair
There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
Complications of wound healing like infection, hyperpigmentation of scar, contractures, and keloid formation.
