ROLES OF ASSESSMENT TEAM
Address all
aspects of drug
abuse
prevention,
treatment and
rehabilitation in
the workplace.
Specific Roles
Responsible for the formulation and endorsement for adoption of
the company, a Drug-Free Workplace (DFW) policy and DFW plan
of action;
Convene regularly to discuss, formulate, review/ and evaluate
plans and programs related to drug-free workplace;
Report to the employer any development including issues and
concerns and updates related to the implementation of the Drug-
free Workplace program.
Coordinate with City Anti-Drug Abuse Council any concerns
related to the implementation of DFW program and if necessary to
PDEA and DOLE.
Specific Roles
 Build awareness of the officers and employees on the
adverse effects of dangerous drugs and the drug-free
workplace program of the company through:
◦ Training
◦ Education
◦ Symposia
◦ Fora
◦ Orientation (New Employees Orientation)
 Ensure that random drug-testing is observed in the
workplace in accordance to the company’s work rules
and regulations (i.e. Data Privacy Act);
Specific Roles
 Evaluate the results of the drug tests and determine the
level of care and administrative interventions that can be
extended to concerned employee;
 Provide in-house services to employee found positive
with drugs such as but not limited to counselling (MIOP),
physical/dental check-up, family education, spiritual
counselling, etc.;
 On top of the drug test result, the assessment team shall
administer screening process using available tools to
assess the employee’s level of exposure to illegal drugs.
Specific Roles
 For clients with the following screening results:
◦ Low to Mild Risk – refer to City Anti-Drug Abuse Council
(CADAC) for availment of TARA NA Community-Based
Rehabilitation and Aftercare Program (CBRAP)
◦ Moderate Risk – refer to a health-based facility for
intensive outpatient treatment and rehabilitation
accredited by DOH;
◦ Severe Risk – refer to an in-patient treatment and
rehabilitation facility accredited by DOH
 Ensure that confirmatory test is done for clients found
positive in the RDT conducted;
Specific Roles
◦ Monitor the activities of the client including work
performance, attendance to treatment and rehab sessions,
attendance at work, family relationships, etc.;
◦ In consultation with the head of the treatment facility (for
referral cases) the assessment team, following the
rehabilitation shall evaluate the status of the client whether
s/he is already fit to work;
◦ Recommend to the employer the client’s resumption to
work especially if s/he poses no serious danger to his/her
colleagues and the workplace.
