Effect of coefficient of friction in finite element modeling sanjeev n ksanjeevnks
The document discusses the effect of coefficient of friction (COF) in finite element modeling of friction stir welding (FSW). It finds that COF has a significant influence on simulation outputs like temperature, forces, and defect formation. A COF of 1.0 provided results closest to experimental values for the material, process parameters, and FSW conditions studied. The model was able to accurately predict temperature distribution and weld quality when using a COF of 1.0, modified Coulomb friction law, and Johnson-Cook material model in ABAQUS. Choosing the appropriate COF and friction model is important for realistic simulation of FSW and other manufacturing processes.
Assignment: Complete a series of works that are related to each other by idea/content, method of working, size, color, etc. Working within parameters frees up the imagination to pursue unusual combinations of ideas and images.
This document provides anatomical details on drawing the human head, hands, and feet. It notes key features like the roundness of the skull, deep eye sockets, and prominence of heel and ankle bones. Instructions are given on proportions for the facial features with the eyes halfway down the head and the mouth dividing the bottom half. The hands are described as having large, wedge-like metacarpals and fingers that bend. Feet are shown having ankles that sit straight into the foot bones with the heel protruding. Artists like Michelangelo, Durer, Degas and others are referenced.

The document discusses the various technologies the student learned during the process of creating a thriller opening called "Payback". They learned how to use a Kodak camcorder to record professional footage, including how to improve sound and add effects. They also learned the importance of using a tripod to keep shots steady and allow panning. For editing, they used iMovie and learned basic and advanced editing tools. Additional media technologies like Prezi, Blogger, and SlideShare were used to present their work, and they learned how to use these platforms to link accounts, import different file formats, and upload content.
This document discusses finding and shading planes in a figure by thinking of it as cubic shapes and identifying the planes of the head and foot. It references Giacometti but provides no other context.
This document provides guidance on observing angles in figure drawings, including the angles of limbs relative to the torso and within limbs, angles of figures relative to background shapes, and angles in shadows and where body parts meet. It also lists artists like Giacometti, Jim Dine, Richard Diebenkorn, and students whose stick figure drawings demonstrate effective use of angles. Students are assigned homework to complete a master study of one of Diebenkorn's figure drawings in stick and ink format.
The document discusses the importance of high-quality early care and education programs for children from birth to age five. It states that investments in these programs yield high returns and can help close the achievement gap between lower- and higher-income children before they enter kindergarten. The document cites research showing children who attend high-quality early education programs are better prepared for school and more likely to succeed academically and financially later in life compared to those who do not. It argues that federal and state governments should make early childhood education a priority by increasing funding and establishing a coordinated, high-quality system from birth to age five.
This document provides techniques for creating multiple line drawings. It suggests drawing the same subject from different angles or poses in a progression across the page or from top to bottom. Artists can also develop drawings by overlapping different objects or noticing erased lines underneath the main drawing, as seen in Frank Lloyd Wright's work. The techniques allow artists to experiment and develop drawings of the same subject in different ways.

5-hydroxytryptamine or 5-HT or Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that serves a range of roles in the human body. It is sometimes referred to as the happy chemical since it promotes overall well-being and happiness.
It is mostly found in the brain, intestines, and blood platelets.
5-HT is utilised to transport messages between nerve cells, is known to be involved in smooth muscle contraction, and adds to overall well-being and pleasure, among other benefits. 5-HT regulates the body's sleep-wake cycles and internal clock by acting as a precursor to melatonin.
It is hypothesised to regulate hunger, emotions, motor, cognitive, and autonomic processes.

GASTROINTESTINAL INFECTIONS AND GASTRITIS
Osvaldo Bernardo Muchanga
Gastrointestinal Infections
GASTROINTESTINAL INFECTIONS result from the ingestion of pathogens that cause infections at the level of this tract, generally being transmitted by food, water and hands contaminated by microorganisms such as E. coli, Salmonella, Shigella, Vibrio cholerae, Campylobacter, Staphylococcus, Rotavirus among others that are generally contained in feces, thus configuring a FECAL-ORAL type of transmission.
Among the factors that lead to the occurrence of gastrointestinal infections are the hygienic and sanitary deficiencies that characterize our markets and other places where raw or cooked food is sold, poor environmental sanitation in communities, deficiencies in water treatment (or in the process of its plumbing), risky hygienic-sanitary habits (not washing hands after major and/or minor needs), among others.
These are generally consequences (signs and symptoms) resulting from gastrointestinal infections: diarrhea, vomiting, fever and malaise, among others.
The treatment consists of replacing lost liquids and electrolytes (drinking drinking water and other recommended liquids, including consumption of juicy fruits such as papayas, apples, pears, among others that contain water in their composition).
To prevent this, it is necessary to promote health education, improve the hygienic-sanitary conditions of markets and communities in general as a way of promoting, preserving and prolonging PUBLIC HEALTH.
Gastritis and Gastric Health
Gastric Health is one of the most relevant concerns in human health, with gastrointestinal infections being among the main illnesses that affect humans.
Among gastric problems, we have GASTRITIS AND GASTRIC ULCERS as the main public health problems. Gastritis and gastric ulcers normally result from inflammation and corrosion of the walls of the stomach (gastric mucosa) and are generally associated (caused) by the bacterium Helicobacter pylor, which, according to the literature, this bacterium settles on these walls (of the stomach) and starts to release urease that ends up altering the normal pH of the stomach (acid), which leads to inflammation and corrosion of the mucous membranes and consequent gastritis or ulcers, respectively.
In addition to bacterial infections, gastritis and gastric ulcers are associated with several factors, with emphasis on prolonged fasting, chemical substances including drugs, alcohol, foods with strong seasonings including chilli, which ends up causing inflammation of the stomach walls and/or corrosion. of the same, resulting in the appearance of wounds and consequent gastritis or ulcers, respectively.
Among patients with gastritis and/or ulcers, one of the dilemmas is associated with the foods to consume in order to minimize the sensation of pain and discomfort.

The development of nanogold-based cancer therapy could revolutionize oncology by providing a more targeted, less invasive treatment option. This project contributes to the growing body of research aimed at harnessing nanotechnology for medical applications, paving the way for future clinical trials and potential commercial applications.
Cancer remains one of the leading causes of death worldwide, prompting the need for innovative treatment methods. Nanotechnology offers promising new approaches, including the use of gold nanoparticles (nanogold) for targeted cancer therapy. Nanogold particles possess unique physical and chemical properties that make them suitable for drug delivery, imaging, and photothermal therapy.

Gene therapy can be broadly defined as the transfer of genetic material to cure a disease or at least to improve the clinical status of a patient.
One of the basic concepts of gene therapy is to transform viruses into genetic shuttles, which will deliver the gene of interest into the target cells.
Safe methods have been devised to do this, using several viral and non-viral vectors.
In the future, this technique may allow doctors to treat a disorder by inserting a gene into a patient's cells instead of using drugs or surgery.
The biggest hurdle faced by medical research in gene therapy is the availability of effective gene-carrying vectors that meet all of the following criteria:
Protection of transgene or genetic cargo from degradative action of systemic and endonucleases,
Delivery of genetic material to the target site, i.e., either cell cytoplasm or nucleus,
Low potential of triggering unwanted immune responses or genotoxicity,
Economical and feasible availability for patients .
Viruses are naturally evolved vehicles that efficiently transfer their genes into host cells.
Choice of viral vector is dependent on gene transfer efficiency, capacity to carry foreign genes, toxicity, stability, immune responses towards viral antigens and potential viral recombination.
There are a wide variety of vectors used to deliver DNA or oligo nucleotides into mammalian cells, either in vitro or in vivo.
The most common vector system based on retroviruses, adenoviruses, herpes simplex viruses, adeno associated viruses.
