This document discusses the ecological origins of diseases and pandemics, and proposes sustainable solutions. It argues that the current capitalist system and globalized agribusiness have degraded the environment and increased disease transmission by destroying habitats, concentrating livestock, and disrupting communities. However, regenerative agriculture practices that reintroduce diversity, integrate crops and animals, and reconnect food production and communities can help mitigate disease emergence while improving sustainability, resilience, and public health. Transitioning to regional agroecological food systems is presented as a way to address the root social and ecological causes of pandemics.
