Editorial
n the next few months you will notice a lot of new things happening in
Frotcom.
For instance, you may have already
noticed that a new Frotcom app (beta)
is now available for Android and iOS
(iPhone). Just search for Frotcom in the
Google and Apple app stores.
The new app was built to provide an
even better user experience. To start
with, there is a lot more information
available, including fuel level graphs
(for vehicles equipped with the
necessary fuel probe), which places a
lot more information right at your
fingertips.
Additionally, the way the information is
presented makes it much simpler to
execute the most common operations.
For instance, you can now select a
vehicle and easily call the driver or text
him. Quite convenient.
If you install the new app you may also notice something else. There is a new
Frotcom logo and slogan. Yes, that’s right, we’re changing that too. And it looks
good, fresh, new.
For now it’s only the app, but soon…
But let’s save the spoilers for now. There’s a lot of new stuff coming down the
line in the next few months. Just stay tuned!

Frotcom Peru in the News
Looking to spring-board off its launch and maximize public and media
awareness, Frotcom Peru will be promoting a far-reaching media campaign in
the coming months.
The campaign kicked off with a press conference on September 29, attended by
several major media including national press, trade magazines, and online news
outlets with features appearing in national dailies like “La Republica”, “Correo
Peru”, online magazines like “Nitro” and “Todo Motor”, and “NTeve”. This
comprehensive campaign will continue with both radio and TV appearances and
interviews with Frotcom Peru General Manager César Prieto, which are sure to
gather even more attention.
Geared towards boosting awareness of both the brand and its unique product
offering, the campaign hinges on promoting the cost-control, road safety, and
enviro-friendly benefits that Frotcom’s intelligent fleet management solutions
have to offer.
Frotcom Peru intends to capitalize on Frotcom’s considerable experience and
expertise in developing adaptable solutions to clients’ individual requirements,
to establish itself as a groundbreaking solution provider to the local market.
Beyond transportation and road haulage companies, the campaign will also
target companies for whom distribution is an integral part of their core business
and logistics departments.
Roadmap congratulates Frotcom Peru for this successful initiative.
Plastic roads may put
asphalt to shame
The days of putting up with crumbling
asphalt streets might just come to an
end.
Construction company VolkerWessels
has revealed plans for recycled plastic
roads that are both more sustainable
and more practical than old-fashioned
blacktop. Besides reusing material,
they'd last about three times longer
and survive greater temperature
ranges (between -40F and 176F) --
despite their fragile look, they're less
likely to crack under the strain of
vehicles or the weather. You can pre-
assemble them to lay them down
faster, too, and their hollow structure is
handy for cabling and pipes.
This is just a concept at the moment,
but VolkerWessels fully intends to test
it and make sure that it holds up in the
real world. That's not idle talk, either.
The Dutch city of Rotterdam is
interested in trying out these plastic
surfaces in its "street lab," and the
company hopes to have an honest-to-
goodness route in operation within
three years. If the idea still sounds
outlandish, look at it this way: it's likely
the closest you'll ever get to driving a
Hot Wheels track in real life.

Frotcom Bulgaria heralds innovation at BATA AGRO
conference
Diversification in growth fields can often open up interesting synergies and new
business opportunities. Bulgaria’s booming agricultural sector and the European
Commission’s Rural Development programmes provide a prime example.
Keying into a growing demand for ICT and integrated logistics solutions in the
agricultural sector Frotcom Bulgaria has partnered, for the past couple of years,
with Bulgarian agribusiness associations to promote an industry-wide
conference bringing together tech companies, state institutions, agri equipment
suppliers, financial instituitions, and producers.
The latest conference, held in September at the Hotel Sofia, under the banner
“Challenges in Developing the Agricultural Sector” was again devoted to
technological solutions aimed at modernizing and improving competitiveness. A
topic that has become even more pertinent given the importance that European
Union rural development programmes currently place on those points.
The conference - which is held as part of BATA-AGRO, the country’s biggest
agricultural industry event - is geared towards promoting discussion and
awareness of key issues, technological solutions, and development
opportunities among the myriad parties, active in the agricultural sector.

Speaker at a lively panel on
“Solutions and innovations for
technological modernization and
improving competitiveness in the
sector”, with other leading
industry executives from ICT
Media, the Bulagro Group, BG
Business Solutions, and XAPT
Solutions.
Other sessions this year included relevant topics such as: ICT and integrated
logistics solutions for the agricultural sector, (GPS devices, management
software, GIS, mobile solutions, etc.); efficient business management and
optimization via the appropriate systems; the role of ICT in improving
competitiveness; and successful case study presentations.
Roadmap congratulates Frotcom Bulgaria for this successful initiative.
Find nearest vehicles
This helpful feature comes into play
when you have a new location you
need one of your vehicles to visit. It is,
optimal for fleet management, by
finding the closest and most efficient
vehicle for a particular job.
Using the lefthand sidebar, in the
“search” > “address” tabs, you will
input the address.
You are taken directly to the location,
which is represented by a house icon
on the map.
To find the nearest vehicle you can
right click on either the address in the
sidebar or directly on the house icon on
the map.
Selecting “Find nearest vehicles”
immediately provides you the top three
vehicles closest to the location on the
lefthand sidebar.
You can also see the highlighted
routeof each of the three vehicles by
clicking on each of them.
Use the filter tab to customize the type
of vehicles you would like to show up in
your search, and adjust a series of
parameters to custiomize your criteria.

Mobile Frotcom billboard on the roads of Europe
Frotcom Macedonia has struck a deal with international road haulage company and
Frotcom customer LKW Tripchev to boldy feature Frotcom brand logos on one of the
company’s truck. The bold branding transforms this vehicle into a mobile billboard
and the wording communicates in a simple and direct fashion the company’s identity
and services to any interested parties on the road.
Commenting on the deal, Dragan Kostovski, CEO of Frotcom Macedonia, said, “This
truck will be driving across the European Union, primarily Germany, Benelux and
Denmark but also elsewhere. What better way to promote Frotcom than through
Frotcom-managed vehicles on the roads of Europe?”

New Workforce management
tasks report
This month we are outlining the new workforce
management tasks report, which shows you the
number of assigned and executed tasks, the average
execution times and mileage, for a selected period,
for a vehicle or selection of vehicles.
This new report provides you with a tool to analyze
how your fleet and drivers are performing regarding
the execution of tasks managed by the Workforce
Management module in Frotcom.
