Editorial
spent this last weekend in Cascais, a beautiful Portuguese village on the
Atlantic coast. Spectacular weather. About 18C (64F) in the afternoon.
“So what?” you may ask. Well, it’s December. 18 degrees Celsius is not normal,
even for Portugal, a naturally mild country. Or is it? According to the European
Environment Agency, it will be the new normal a few years from now.
The fact that the planet’s climate is changing is no longer subject to any
discussion. That it will bring extreme temperatures and precipitation, rising sea
levels and shrinking snow is also undisputed. There is even a growing acceptance
of the fact that human influence — mainly emissions of greenhouse gases, but
also changes in land use — is the primary cause of warming since the mid-20th
century.
Many organizations, like the European Environment Agency, are already quite
pragmatic about this: “Even if greenhouse gas emissions were to stop today,
climate change would continue for many decades as a result of past emissions
and the inertia of the climate system. It is therefore necessary to adapt to the
changes that have already occurred and to prepare for plausible scenarios of
future climate change.”
As I was enjoying last weekend’s ocean view - and a weather one would expect
in the Spring - I took a little comfort in the fact that by reducing the average
driven mileage and improving the driving behavior of tens of thousands of trucks
and other vehicles, Frotcom is somewhat contributing to reduce the impact on
the production of greenhouse gases. That, in itself, is something our company is
very proud of.
On a different note, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your

Business Partners introduced to Frotcom network
A changing marketplace demands an adaptable business model and in response to
growth opportunities in some regions not yet covered by Certified Partners,
Frotcom International has now introduced a new type of direct partnership: the
Business Partner.
Frotcom International’s Business Partners are now starting their sales activity in
countries not currently developed by our growing family of global Certified Partners.
These Business Partners will function as non-exclusive resellers within a preferred
area, co-operating with Frotcom International in marketing the Frotcom brand,
products and services.
Frotcom is pleased to welcome its first two Business Partners: VM Tracking and
Bulkprodukter i Sverige AB, both up-and-coming start-ups providing services and
solutions for the Swedish and Scandinavian freight, logistics, and industrial sectors.

COP 21: Over 75.000 Electric
Vehicles in 2015
Encouraging information regarding the
global fight against climate change at
COP21 in Paris: more than 75.000
license plates for electric vehicles have
been produced in Europe since the
beginning of this year. A progression of
50% in comparison of last year.
Sales have been multiplied almost by
six between 2011 and 2015. Norway,
France, Germany and United Kingdom
are the four leaders representing 75%
of the European EV sales. In all those
countries the governments established
many environmental-friendly
incentives and enlarged their charging
stations networks to support
consumers to buy electric cars. For the
public, those different financial
bonuses when combined reach 10,000
euros [per vehicle]. […]
This extraordinary increase is explained
by the large amounts of bonuses
offered to buy vehicles emitting less
than 50 g of CO2 per km. […]

Frotcom Greece shines at Supply Chain & Logistics Expo
2015
Over 25,000 people attended the Supply Chain & Logistics 2015 international expo
adding to the event’s success story. This fifth edition of the trade expo, organized by
“O mind Creatives” and “Supply Chain & Logistics” magazine, was held at the
Metropolitan Expo Centre near the Athens International Airport, between
November 7th
and 9th
.
Executives from the fields of distribution, logistics and supply chain were invited to
partake in an exciting mix of business forums, networking and showrooms focused
on the evolving dynamics and innovations of the sector as its importance continues
to grow and refine its priorities. Exhibitors from a variety of complementary
business areas such as Cargo & Freight,
Logistics Services and Technologies, and
Warehouse equipment, Handling and
Packaging were also in attendance.
Frotcom Greece was on hand to
showcase our very own state-of-the-art
solution for the sector. The company’s
stand grabbed visitors’ attention with
presentations and live demos showcasing
core Frotcom features such as route
planning and monitoring, driving
behaviour analysis, remote tachograph
access and workforce management,
among others.

You can locate the nearest vehicles
using 3 different methods:
1. Look for the nearest vehicles
from your current location
The app will use your device's GPS
to locate you, and then will show
you the 5 nearest vehicles.
from a point on the map
You will be asked to touch the
map to indicate the location and
then the app will show you the 5
nearest vehicles.
from an address
You will be asked to enter the
address and then the app will
show you the 5 nearest vehicles.
Note: The first time you use the Nearest
vehicles button you will be asked if you
allow the app to access your location. This
authorization is only needed in case you want
to look for the nearest vehicles from your own
location.

Frotcom Bulgaria exhibits at 3rd Annual Logistics
Business Conference
On October 29, 2015, the Logistics Business Conference, Bulgaria’s largest
logistics event, was held at the Sofia Event Centre, organized by Logistics
magazine and its publisher BTP - Bulgarian Transport Press.
The 3rd
edition of the conference, focused on ”Trends and Innovation in
Transport and Logistics”, gathered managers and logistics professionals from a
broad range of companies in transport, forwarding, courier, distribution, trading,
construction, production, and also the IT sector.
As market leader and innovator, Frotcom was present to network and showcase
its platform and features, including awareness of the Driving behaviour analysis,
and updates such as two-way messaging, Route planning and monitoring, and
the Workforce management module.
Frotcom Bulgaria’s booth was visited not only by existing clients, but also by a
number of potential customers interested in the flexibility and robustness of
Frotcom. Frotcom representatives were at hand to demonstrate system features
and ease-of-use to the attendees, and how it can significantly increase efficiency
and profitability in the fields of Supply Chain Management and Logistics.
