MURAL Webinar: Special Touches That Make Your Sprints KickassMURAL
In this webinar, Dee Scarano (Lead Design Sprint Trainer at AJ&Smart) shared insights from running hundreds of design sprints and training people from some of the biggest and best companies in the world.
Presented at Design Thinking Meetup (Warsaw). Ideation process in service design - is a moment when we diverge and converge. What techniques to use in ideations? What are tools and how should you prepare facilitation. Methods of great ideation workshop. Inspired by life, cases, Socjomania workshops and Design Thinkers Academy certificate.
Have you ever had a dream project that slowly evolved into a state of mediocracy by the time it launched?
We may have an epidemic on our hands: complacency. This disease is often triggered by short timelines, unset expectations, corporate red tape, lack of research, budget and sometimes motivation.
Fortunately, there is a cure! Together, we will focus on how to keep pushing past the status quo to create something in which we can all be proud.
This is s a presentation I gave at a meetup to Independent Filmmakers. As the live presentation was mostly visual, I added a brief summary of the discussion points. Contact me directly to expand on these points. Tw: wildfireeffect or www.wildeffect.com

10 PowerPoint hacks that will help you win friends and save your timeHavain
PowerPoint is a great and versatile presentation design tool, but it can be a bit confusing to use, specially if you are not dedicated superuser. Because of that, we gathered 10 of our favorite PowerPoint tricks to easily memorable tips, so that you can win friends and save your time!
Kickstart Your Product with a Design Sprint by thestartupfactory.techProduct School
In a fluid and fast-paced world of Product, Product Management and building Product Roadmaps, even the most skilled of teams can struggle with a specific proposition, have misaligned priorities or simply get stuck from time to time. That's where the Design Sprint comes in – a process born at Google Ventures. This presentation unravels how a Design Sprint can get you and your team back on track in just 5 days. Not only that, but get a sneak peek into Design Sprint 2.0: now 20% faster than the original!
Darden School of Business professor Jeanne Liedtka continues her webinar series on 'Evaluating the Impact of Design Thinking', this time as part of MURAL Imagine, focusing on the ‘social technology’ aspect of design thinking.
It used to take companies weeks to brainstorm, write specs, publish RFPs, and get started on projects. With a design sprint, it’s possible to accomplish all that—plus sketching, prototyping, and validating big ideas—in just 5 days.
Sound too good to be true? We partnered with InVision to help teams learn how exactly to run their own design sprint. Follow these tips and by the end of your sprint, you’ll have live, targeted customer validation so you know exactly what to prioritize in your product roadmap.
Quick guide to the Design sprint.
The sprint is a five-day process for answering critical business questions through design, prototyping, and testing ideas with customers. Developed at Google Ventures, it’s a “greatest hits” of business strategy, innovation, behavior science, design thinking, and more — packaged into a battle-tested process that any team can use.

Validate Your Ideas Quickly with Google Design SprintBorrys Hasian
This was presented at Compfest, an annual one-stop IT event held by students of Faculty of Computer Science, University of Indonesia. The deck is about Design Thinking and Google Design Sprint.
There was once a time in product development where waterfalls ruled but today smart teams and companies are shifting their approaches to be more nimble and iterative. As they adopt approaches like Agile and Lean Startup many are also realizing that design matters. It’s not just what a product looks like but rather the entire experience that differentiates between good and great products. And they’re all looking for a UX unicorn to help them.
With some real-world examples, I’ll share with you:
+ how to become a UX unicorn
+ how the industry works & how it’s changing
+ how to work in Agile as a designer
+ leverage light-weight methods to work quickly
+ what I've learned along the way
Speed Design Studio is a variant of Will Evan’s Design Studio Process and was designed collaboratively by Jabe Bloom and Will Evan’s at TLCLabs
Speed Design Studio was modified from the original based on insights from Cognitive Edge methods and is focused on extremely rapid iterations in an attempt to emerge team level understandings of design problems and solution language.
Due to efforts applied to tighten cycle times, Speed Design Studio can be taught in a 1-2 hr workshop.
A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to deliver a talk at Shift in Split, Croatia.
Shift is a developer conference, so initially, I thought it would be entertaining to talk about what it’s like to work with an engineer, from a designers perspective. The working title of the talk was Things Engineers Hate About Working With (Me) a Designer.
I was going to share the mistakes I’ve made, and learned from, along the way. A manifesto of what not to do when working with an engineer. However, feedback included phrases like “it’s a bit tongue & cheek” and the best talks are ones that are “raw, honest and vulnerable.”
You don’t write code, but you’ve been successful in spite of it. The lines are blurring between design & engineering. Why not talk about how tools have helped bridge that gap?
There was something more interesting to talk about. I realized that I didn’t write code because I didn’t need to. For years I’d been spoiled, and to some extent enabled, by a handful of incredibly talented iOS engineers. The realization didn’t sit well with me.
I scrapped everything and went back to the drawing board.
Tools were my first introduction to a hobby that turned into a passion that has become an obsession
They have been steadily influencing and shaping me as a designer from the first time I sat in front of a computer in elementary school. I would not realize how much they’d impact my life until much much later.
Tools have had a massive influence on me and my work, but had they on others?
Learn how user interface designers and user experience designers play an important part in creating products and services that keeps customers or users coming back for more.

Hey I'm Pravin Raj Sekar, a Multimedia Design Student at Saito University College. This Portfolio is collection of my Artworks I did during my Diploma at Saito.
Put the key stakeholders in the same room with an unlimited modelling surface, and some tricks, and you'll end up not only with a viable model, but also with skeleton for continuous improvement.
Slides from my talk on the things I've learned by comparing the collaborative process as it is carried out in many modern organizations to the creative process of artists and makers.

EventStorming was born as a massively in-person workshop to discover and model complex businesses and design event-driven software. But the old ways are no longer viable. After one year of experiments and discoveries in a forced-remote setting we know a lot more about what is still working and what is not.
Turn Concepts to Reality Using Prototyping and Feedback LoopsNick Floro
Too often we jump into our tools and start developing learning before we fully understand our audience, testing our ideas and working with just what we are told by a stakeholder. This can lead to dozens of changes or a poor reception to a new launch. Whether you are creating a new project, developing an app, or launching a new website, this session will help you find the latest strategies in brainstorming and prototyping. The speaker will highlight specific tools, techniques, and work flows to help you kick off any project the right way. Learn how to communicate a concept, beginning with low-fidelity prototypes; gather user feedback; and translate it into high-fidelity prototypes before you start development. You will learn which tools and techniques to apply to your prototype, including techniques for paper, web, and app prototyping, and how to utilize new web-based apps to accelerate your process. Bring your pens, crayons, markers, and paper to get your ideas out of your head and make them a reality!
Application on the Job:
- Discover how prototyping can improve results.
- Explore the latest mobile and desktop apps, including free and paid solutions.
- Sketch and build a prototype during the session.
- Utilize dozens of tools, trends, and tips on your next project.

Questions
64. NARRATIVES
Words matter. Verbally telling compelling stories is one of the
oldest and best ways to communicate your ideas quickly.
If you become proficient at this method and convey enough
detail, someone else will actually be able to convey it in many
other mediums just as you conceived.
67. PHOTOS
It’s amazing what your imagination is capable of when it
comes to filling space.
There’s nothing easier to capture the potential environment for
an experience than taking your phone out and taking a photo.
These scenes can be used for design mood boards, sketching,
prototyping or just as inspiration.
70. Microsoft PowerPoint

Fast compositing
Inking over photos
Easily editable

72.
73. SKETCHING
Ordinarily, there’s nothing faster than picking up a pen or
pencil and drawing your ideas out quickly on paper.
Unfortunately, it’s not that easy when dealing with 3D.
Other tools and techniques are actually better than the
traditionally fastest and easiest method.
76. Mental Canvas

Drawing with a pen

77.
78. VIDEOS
You can argue that videos are now the most popular way to
communicate anything these days.
Using some new tools can make it simple to create videos that
have holograms in them that illustrate ideas for experiences.
84. ACTING
Of all the techniques and tools for creating breakthrough
experiences, it turns out that acting is the most effective.
Walking through the experience with props and other people
playing the role of hologram reveals so much about how it
should feel and behave, nothing comes close.
This is also referred to as “bodystorming” (like brainstorming)
89. 3D TOOLS
It’s everyone’s first thought to jump right into 3D modeling and
animation tools to prototype their experiences. Good idea :-)
The nature of what we’re doing requires some dimensionality
in the way we depict it. These tools bring the ideas to life,
whether in-device or real-time immersion.
Just be careful of the amount of time you spend here.

In-device 3D painting
