Berlin by train.
 They are going
to Dresden.

 Went to floral exhibit
 Visited Dr. Adolph B. Meyer

At floral exhibit,
they met
Dr. Jagor.

9.  They left Dresden and went to Teschen as next
stopover. They sent wire to Blumentritt.

10. Leitmeritz, Bohemia
 May 13, 1887 at 1:30pm, they arrived in the railroad
station where Prof. Ferdinand Blumentritt was there.

11. Blumentritt helped the two get a room at Hotel Krebs.
 They stayed there from May 13-16, 1887.

12. Memories in Leitmeritz
 Enjoying the warm hospitality of the Blumentritt
family.
 They went to a beer garden
in Bohemia.
 They attended a meeting
of the Tourist’s Club of
Leitmeritz where Blumentritt was the
secretary.
 He met Dr. Carlos Czepalak, a Polish scholar.
 He was introduced to Prof. Robert Klutschak, a wellknown scholar.

13.  Last night in Leitmeritz, they proposed a dinner to
Blumentritt’s family at their hotel.
 May 16, at 9:45 am, they left Leitmeritz by train.

14. Prague
 They went to Dr. Willkomm, professor of natural
history in University of Prague.
 They visited:
Tomb of Copernicus
Museum of Natural History
Bacteriological Laboratories
Cave of San Juan Nepomoceno
 after this, they went to Brunn.

16. Brunn
 Rizal wrote a letter to Blumentritt and he told him
that he forgot his diamond stickpin at his room in
Hotel Krebs.
 Nothing important happened
in this city according to
Viola.

18. Vienna
On May 20, they arrived in the “Queen of the Danube”.
 He met Norfenfals, great novelist in Europe. He
admired Rizal.
Rizal received his lost diamond
stickpin.
They stayed in Hotel Metropole.

theatres
 they met 2 good Austrian scholars who are friend of
Blumentritt:
Masner and Nordmann

21. Lintz
 on May 24, they rode on a river boat to see Danube
River.

22. TO SALZBURG,
TO MUNICH TO NUREMBERG
 The river trip ended in Lintz. They travel overland to
Salzburg, and to Munich.
 In Munich, stop for a while to taste the famous
Munich beer, assumed as the best in Germany.
 They went to Nuremberg and were impressed by the
manufacture of dolls 

23. Ulm, Stuttgart, Baden and then Rheinfall
 The Cathedral in Ulm is the largest and tallest in
Germany.
 They went to Stuttgart
and Baden.
 In Rheinfall, they saw
the waterfall which is
“the most beautiful
waterfall in Europe”.

25. Switzerland
 They crossed the border to Schaffhausen,
Switzerland.
 they stayed from June 2-3, 1887.
 they continued their tour to Basel, Bern and
Lausanne.

26. Geneva
 They crossed foggy Leman Lake to Geneva.
 One of most beautiful cities in the world.
 June 19, 1877, Rizal’s 26th
birthday.
 They spent 15 days in
Geneva.
 On June 23, they parted
ways: Viola returned to
Barcelona and Rizal went to Italy.

27. Madrid Exposition
 There was an Exposition of the
Philippines held in Madrid, Spain.
 Igorots were exhibited, some were
died.

28. Italy
 He visited Turin, Milan, Venice and Florence.

29. • On June 27, 1887, he reached Rome, the”Eternal City”
or the “City of Caesars”.
• On June 29, Rizal visited the Vatican for the 1st time.

30. St. Peter’s Square

31. • He prepared to return to his home, Calamba.
