Health & Safety
I must ensure that during the making of my magazine, i.e. the photography and editing work,
that all potential risks of the health and safety of my colleagues as well as myself is protected.
In addition, the equipment that is going to be used whilst the production process must be set in
a safe place and also must be set in a steady manner so it doesn’t fall on anybody or fall and
break. Below shows some of the activities that I will be doing, thus the risks that could arise
and the solutions taken into account to prevent the risks.
Activities Potential Risks Solutions
Transporting photography
equipment to the set/location
• Lifting the heavy equipment.
(Muscle pulls/ strains).
• Potential theft or robbery from
strangers due to the expensive
equipment which can be sold.
• Picking up the heavy equipment
correctly (for example, bending
knees) or using transportation.
• Ensure that you are aware and safe
at all times and not to go to
exclusive, lonely places.
Usage of the computer for long
periods of time whilst editing
photos.
This can cause eye-strain/migraines. Take regular breaks from the
computer, giving your eyes time to rest
and relax.
The designated location of ur
photography work is not safe.
The model could trip over the
pavement on the floor and get hurt or
any severe accident could occur
depending on where it is.
Ensure that the path that the model is
walking down or is standing next to is
clear of clutter and any harm.
Eating and drinking near
equipment
You can spill liquid on the camera and
get food stains on the equipment
which can damage it.
Make sure food and drinks at all time
is not near the equipment.
