1) An estimated 1.2 million children live and work on the streets of major Pakistani cities, constituting the largest and most marginalized social group in the country. 2) According to a UNODC survey, 72% of working street children have no contact with their families and 10% have no knowledge of their families whatsoever. 3) Children are turning to lives on the streets due to increasing poverty, unemployment, and family issues like abuse, violence, neglect, and breakdown.
