What do plants need to grow ?
WATER
Water is necessary for proper germination of seeds.
Plants need water for growth.
LIGHT
Green plants need sunlight in to make their own food.
NUTRIENTS
Plants need the minerals found in soil for healthy growth.
WARMTH
Plants only grow well in the right conditions.
Temperatures that are too cold or too hot may affect how the plant grows.
Plants need water, air, nutrients, and sunlight to grow.

THE LIVING ORGANISMS -CHARACTERISTICS AND HABITATS-3 CBSE-V CHAPTER-9BIOLOGY TEACHER
Organisms
An organism is simply defined as any living thing, ranging from microscopic bacteria to large elephants and everything in between.
Different types of plants and animals are found in different areas.
E.g. deserts have camel and cacti as plants. Beaches show coconut trees and crabs. Fishes and other marine animals inhabit the sea
Adventures of MRS GREN: The Characteristics of LifeAnna Lyn Andres
A science demo lesson on the characteristics of life: Movement, Respiration, Senses, Growth, Reproduction, Excretion, Nutrition (MRS GREN) - for Grades 1-3
10. All living organisms show movement of one kind or another. All living organisms have internal movement, which means that they have the ability of moving substances from one part of their body to another. Some living organisms show external movement as well - they can move from place to place by walking, flying or swimming.
12. Excretion is the removal of waste from the body. If this waste was allowed to remain in the body it could be poisonous. Humans produce a liquid waste called urine. We also excrete waste when we breathe out. All living things need to remove waste from their bodies.
14. All living things produce young. Humans make babies, cats produce kittens and pigeons lay eggs. Plants also reproduce. Many make seeds which can germinate and grow into new plants.
