2. Do you ever wonder what's living?
Well read on and you'll find out how
you can tell.
3. Growth is an important life processes
without it living things would die. We need
to grow to take care of ourselves and
protect ourselves in the face of danger. We
also have to get nutrition in order to grow.
4. Nutrition is an important life process. Its
what keeps us going and keeps us alive.
Animals get their nutrition from plants and
other animals. Plants get theirs from the sun.
Did you know plants move their leaves
towards the sun to get more nutrients?
5. Movement is something all living things do .
Plants move their leaves towards the sun to
absorb more nutrients and animals move to
collect them. Animals move using a series
of bones, muscles and joints. Calcium
makes our bones strong so our movements
are stronger and faster.
6. Sensitivity is very important, we use it to find
food and get away from danger before its to
late. We have many senses:
Touch, smell, sight, taste and hearing. We use
our sense of smell and sight to find edible
plants we also use those along with hearing to
find other animals to hunt and eat. Plants use
touch to find out where the sun and water is
so they can get more nutrients.
We also use our senses to find out where
danger is.
7. Excretion is when we get rid of toxic waste
our body no longer needs. Plants excrete
by dropping leaves in the autumn. Humans
excrete when the go to the toilet. Humans
also excrete by breathing out carbon
dioxide.
8. Respiration is the process of absorbing
oxygen into our blood stream. Humans
breath oxygen and breath out carbon
dioxide. Plants on the other hand breath in
carbon dioxide and breath out oxygen.
9. Reproduction is what keeps our species
alive. Animals reproduce by breeding.
Plants reproduce by pollenating. The
pollen from a male plant is carried to a
female plant, the pollen then fertilizes the
egg and the seed starts to grow. Animals
on the other hand mate then the female
gives birth to the baby.
10. Well now you know how to tell what's living or
not. Here's a tip to remember it’s called MRS
