Rig Safety
Awareness
Virtual Reality Enabled E-learning
The Rig Safety Awareness course features ten e-learning modules, designed
for new technical and petroleum engineers going offshore for the first time.
The modules will require between 30 to 40 minutes study each. Each module
will also include assessment questions that relate to module’s content.
Each e-learning module will be supported by four 2D ‘Walkthrough Events’
where the user is stepped through a series of safety failures that leed to an
incident occurrence.
A series of virtual reality (VR) exercises related to the topics covered in the
e-learning modules will used to simulate an onsite assessment where the
purpose will be to identify health and risks in an offshore environment. The
VR exercises will require the Samsung Gear mobile VR system.
The total study time will take on average 8 hours.
