Caveat Emptor Sales of Good Act Implied Terms Essay
The Latin principle of caveat emptor literally meaning let the buyer beware, has been followed for
many years by the English courts in the context of business transactions. Pre the industrial
revolution the action for breach of contractual rights needed a written warranty otherwise action
could only be brought on the grounds of fraud. The reasoning for such action was based on the
manner in which business was conducted, that is, namely at small fairs where buyers could inspect
the goods and haggle accordingly. This is evidenced in cases such as Chandelor v Lopus in which a
plaintiff brought an action against the defendant in relation to a Bezoar stone which was thought to
have medicinal properties. In this instance, the majority of the... Show more content on

It was this mergence that saw Lord Mansfield becoming known as the founder of commercial
law within this country [United Kingdom] , due to his ability to harmonise commercial custom
and the common law ...with an almost complete understanding of the commercial community,
and the fundamental principles of the old law and that that marriage of idea proved acceptable
to both merchants and lawyers. At this stage, the principle of caveat emptor was utilised as a
guiding principle for the courts, devised namely in response to the manner in which business at
this time was undertaken. This was in response to the manner in which business was conducted,
namely in small fairs with small quantities of goods being bought and sold, buyers were afforded
the opportunity to inspect the goods and use their own knowledge and skill to determine
whether or not to purchase them. As such, it was the buyer s responsibility to ensure that due
diligence was observed at the time of purchase. Failing to inspect the goods resulted in the cost
would be lost if the goods purchased were not what was wanted. In this context protection for
buyers was to a certain extent non existent. The only way in which a seller could be held liable
was in circumstances where a written warranty was issued or if the case was considered to be one
of false affirmation. Cases of false affirmation occurred where the buyer was convinced to buy
something by the false statements of the seller;

Manet s Atlantia
In Briony Fer s discussion of the formation of modern art, she invites us to view the problematic
character of the modern art as a form of difference or incoherence (21,27). In this paper, I will
delineate her argument within the framework of Manet s Olympia and then add more dimensions
to the controversies involved in understanding Olympia by drawing upon T.J. Clark s criticism and
Manet s own voice. We will see that while Fer locates the painting within a dynamic current
engaged in dialogues with both the past and the future, Clark cares less about the time flow than
about the system of meaning determinant within its contemporary social political context. Manet
himself, however, is rather oblivious to the historically critical position... Show more content on

As she defines the modern as a difference cultivated in the practice of art (21), in order to maker
her point, her analysis of Olympia dwells upon the conflicts between the painting and the artistic
conventions. She makes it clear that the incoherence occurs at two closely related levels, namely
the level of technique and the level of subject matter (27). With regard to the former, it seems that
Manet invokes the tradition of nude just so he can discard it. There is a lack of compliance...with
a tradition of painting of the nude, in which the nude female body was offered for contemplation
in an idealized form , and such departure from the technical convention of art making further
enables the construction of conflicts at the narrative level (Fer, 24): Olympia exhibits sharp
control over her own sexuality in an almost shameless way, yet the disgraceful defiance is diluted
by the rich material embellishment, the classicized title and the allegorical poem. She is a
classless prostitute (for any reference to class dissolves into the shadowy classical traditions
invoked), but is a mysterious goddess at the same time. The disregard of artistic practice combined
with the ambiguous iconography leads to a further level of incoherence of meaning or
representation, which Fer seems to think, illustrates the difference that proclaims modern art as a
new phenomenon in its own

Industrial Workers During The Gilded Age
Similar to the farmers during the Gilded Age, industrial workers combatted poor working
conditions, child labor, low wages, and long hours by forming labor unions and organizing
strikes, ending as a massive failure. Early in the industrial era, there was no minimum wage,
leaving it up to the factory owners to set the rate at which their workers were to be paid. Some
owners did not pay their employees in cash but in company scrip which could be redeemed at the
company store. For example, in Pullman, Illinois and in Hershey, Pennsylvania, the towns were
owned by corporations, the Pullman Palace Car Company and the Hershey Company respectively,
so their workers would receive vouchers to spend at the company store instead of hard cash.... Show

Initially a fraternal organization providing social events, sporting competitions, and education
for working men and their families, the Knights of Labor soon advocated for the creation of
cooperatives where members would serve as worker owners who have input on the running of
factories in hopes of making changes for the better of the working man. The Knights of Labor
believed that the alarming development and aggression of aggregated wealth, which, unless
checked, will inevitably lead to the pauperization and hopeless degradation of the toiling masses
could only be stopped through the unification of labor . The Knights were open to all producers
including skilled and unskilled workers and owners as well as women and African Americans.
Bankers, doctors, liquor manufacturers, lawyers, and stockholders were excluded because of their
supposed lack in productive contribution to society. The union advocated for a national eight hour
workday, the expulsion of Asian workers, the prohibition of immigration from the Far East, and an
end to child labor. The Knights worked to make changes for all workers, regardless of affiliation
with the group, and opposed strikes and boycotts. As the Knights of Labor began to fade away,
another organization arose called the American Federation of

Lucretius Writing on the Fear of Death Essay
At the most basic level of subconscious thought, every living animal possesses a desire to stay alive.
Usually, this instinct lays dormant, although in dire situations, we can be led to do unexpected
things. In addition to this subconscious drive, there is a socially constructed motivation for fearing
death. Thanks to the pervasive nature of religion throughout history, much of humanity has, at some
point or another, feared the prospect of eternal damnation and torture during one s life after death.
Although not every religion has a negative aspect of the afterlife, or even any semblance of an
afterlife at all, those religions which do contain some such construct receive much more attention in
this regard. Throughout history, many... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In On the Nature of Things, Lucretius argues that not only is the whole of the human body (both
tangible parts, like organs, and intangible concepts, like the soul) created from distinct types of
atoms, but that this is the basis upon which an afterlife may be disproved. One of the principle
tenets of atomism is that the atoms people are comprised of provide the basis for physical
sensations we might experience, such as heat, touch, smell, et cetera. Lucretius provides the
corollary to this view by noting that without some mechanism for processing these input data, we
would not smell things, or might burn our hands in a fire. This cognition of external stimuli is one
of the key functions of the soul atoms which permeate our bodies. The soul, Lucretius says, is
comprised of four distinct types of atoms: breath, heat, air, and a fourth, unnamed variety, which is
more mobile than the other three (3.231). The presence of these soul atoms can be proved by
observing a person s reactions to various ailments; sickness afflicts both the body and the mind, for
example, demonstrating that they are intrinsically linked. In addition, because sensation may occur
at any point in or on the body, the soul must be distributed completely and evenly throughout
oneself. Atomism says that no atoms are ever created or destroyed,

The Pros And Cons Of Facebook A Virtual Community
Nowadays, people connect each other by social media. Facebook, a virtual community, is one of
the most popular social websites. Most of the other websites allow users to create an account in
an expressway by logging their Facebook account. For example, Tinder requires daters to use
their Facebook account to create profiles instantly. Connecting to Facebook, the users are ready
to use Tinder. It makes a profile of photos and information gotten by his or her Facebook account.
Also, Facebook helps players to save games. Since the players started connecting Facebook during
playing games, it automatically records the information, scores, or the process of the game that has
been playing for a long time, so the players feel comfortable to play without worrying losing all the
data. However, is it a real community? Web sites and social mobile apps are popular and necessary
for people to connect over the world, so website designers and mobile programmers get high
salaries. Thus, we cannot deny that virtual communityis a real community because of three
advantages: supporting users to get what they need, providing the sense of stability, and accepting
us for who we are.
First of all, a virtual community becomes a real community by serving people s needs. Facebook
or Instagram is a business place that shop owners can advertise their stores, products, or their
working teams. Each owner needs to hire employees, yet he or she cannot afford to pay for a
career post. The owner establishes a

The main purpose of these experiments was introduce various techniques such as the use of
separation, purification and extraction for each organic compound that was obtained. The first
experiment was done on a compound which is commonly known as a triglyceride which contains
three fatty acids and a glycerol backbone. The next experiment was done one a caffeine which is
a hetercylic ring. However, this heterocyclic ring has all oxygens in the place of the carbons. The
third eextraction was done on benzoic acid and acentanilide and the last experiment was done on
acetic acid to purify an ester.
The first of these many experiments was the extraction of trimyristin from nutmeg. Trimyristin
makes up about one fourth of the composition of nutmeg. Compounds such as nutmeg can be used
in a process called natural product extraction which identifies if the natural products obtained from
such and extraction can be used to treat various types of diseases. In this first extraction two
important techniques were used and, these are the use of the rotary evaporator and gravity
filtration. Gravity filtration was used to complete a solid liquid extraction of the nutmeg and ethyl
acetate into a round bottom flask. The rotary evaporator was utilized to evaporate the ethyl acetate
in the flask and leave waxy yellowish trymristin crystals. The crystals underwent recrystallization

The Brandenburg Gate Essay
The Brandenburg Gate
The Brandenburg Gate is the trademark of Berlin and over the coarse of its life has been the
symbol of peace, victory, power, division, hope, and a united Germany. The gate is a symbol for
Germany much like the Eiffel tower is a symbol for France. The gate is located on the Pariser
Platz. It is the only gate of a series of gates that once stood in Berlin. The gate is located on Berlin
s most famous street the Unter den Linden, or Under the Lime Trees. This street is straight as an
arrow, a mile in length and leads directly to the royal residence. Due to these conditions the gate is
visible from a great distance.

The main architectural design of this landmark has not changed since it was first constructed in
1791. However its symbolism has evolved over the course of Germany s history and has had some
minor architectural changes as a side effect.
In 1806 Napoleon passed beneath this gate as conqueror of Prussia and ordered that The
Quadriga be sent to Paris and that a gate be built for it to sit on. It was exhibited at the Louvre
museum, until the Arc de Triomphe in Paris was finished at which point The Quadriga was
placed atop the Arc de Triomphe. In 1814 The Quadriga was recaptured and brought back to
Berlin. This symbol of peace was changed after the German victory over France and the woman
became Victoria, the goddess of Victory by adding a Prussian eagle on an iron cross to her
ensemble. They also named the square in front of her The Place of Paris .
In 1933 the National Socialists marched through the gate in a martial torch parade, with them came
the darkest chapter of German history, The gate went from being a symbol of victory to a symbol
of the Third Reich. The gate became the starting point for parades down the StraГџe unter den
Linden, for the Nazi military, that used the gate to symbolize their power. (source 3)

Reasons For Preventing Delays For Closing Delays
You accepted the offer and the buyer have agreed with the closing date, hopefully with any
closing delays. The final goal for both the seller and the buyer is have all parties involve dint he
process to prevent any closing delays. The delays aren t always caused by the seller or the buyer.
In some cases the delays are due to the lender or financial instructions and how long they take to
process the loanand close.
In California the escrow instructions have different procedures, for instant southern California signs
on the front end, while northern California signs on the back end. Before anything happens all of
the terms of the purchase agreement need to be met, the seller deposits the deed and the buyer
deposits the funds.
Many of the causes for closing delays can be prevented and correctly quickly with planning and
communications. Some common errors causing closing delays include documentation, incorrect
amounts stated on the required funding, or findings from the buyers final walk through of the home
before closing.
7 Ways To Avoid Closing Delays On Your Home Sale

This one is at the top of the list for good reason. Buyers need to keep their lenders up to date and

Symbolism In Esperanza Rising
Esperanza Ortega of El Rancho de las Rosas is a young Hispanic girl that must overcome
strenuous obstacles in order to help her family. The novel Esperanza Rising by Pam MuГ±oz Ryan
has many symbols that contribute to the theme, but one of the major motifs present is the process
of crocheting the quilt. This symbol lasts throughout the entire book, but the message only gets
stronger for this symbol goes hand in hand with the storyline. Esperanza is an only child in her
family, and during this time it was not acceptable for womanto own land. When Esperanza s papa
gets killed there were no other men in the family, so the land that Esperanza had grew up on and
loved would soon all be taken away, unless her mama sacrificers herself and marries the rude
brother of Esperanza s papa. This idea of men owning land is one main reason why Esperanza s
family must migrate to California. If Esperanza was male, this story would not exist because the
land would be given to her. Since Esperanza is a female, the story has a complication in the plot
that needs to be overcame. This is the first obstacle that Esperanza must triumph over: leaving home
to somewhere unknown. Throughout the book Esperanza, mama, and abuelita work on crocheting
a quilt. The crocheting of this quilt has a special process that relates greatly to the journey
Esperanza takes. In order to crochet like abuelita you must add ten stitches up to the top of the
mountain. Add one stitch. Nine stitches down to the bottom of the valley. Skip one (MuГ±oz Ryan
14). During the novelEsperanza has to climb to the top of mountains and go down to the bottom of
valleys in order to complete her journey. The novel begins with Esperanza at the top of a beautiful
mountain, but when her papa dies, her house gets burned down, abuelita getting hurt, and they have
to migrate to California Esperanza is at the lowest point in the valley. She sees all that is ahead, but
in her eyes it is a huge mountain that needs to be climbed. This will be a long strenuous journey
with many more obstacles, but Esperanza is stronger than she knows. The crochet technique of
making mountains and valleys applies greatly to everything that Esperanza goes through on her
migration to California.

1.What is the definition of Eugenics based on a video clip of Edwin Black?
According to Edwin Black, eugenics is the effort to create a white, blue eyed, blond haired,
Nordic master race in the United States, and wipe away the existence of everyone who did not fit
that ideal . Black goes further by explaining the implementation of this ideal, saying Now who did
they want to wipe away? They wanted to wipe away Mexicans, Italians. They wanted to wipe
away the Asians the Jews, those who they believed were feeble minded, the Deaf, the poor.
The Oxford University Press defines eugenics as the science of improving a human population by
controlled breeding to increase the occurrence of desirable heritable characteristics with a further
and rather illuminating explanation which states, Developed largely by Francis Galton as a method
of improving the human race, it fell into disfavor only after the perversion of its doctrines by the
Nazis .
2.What did you learn exactly from Edwin Black that you may have not learned in American
History?
If I had been asked when eugenics began in practice, I would likely have pointed at Nazi era
Europe prior to seeing Edwin Black s presentation. However, at the conclusion of his speech I
found myself shaken by the fact that eugenics was in practice in California before and during Nazi
power. I had thought of California as, in the past, a brave frontier, and at present, a shining beacon of

this concept to the video will help to further ascertain why the individuals in the video acted the
way they did. Moreover, to back the concepts and claims made in this paper specific examples

The Letter By Abigail Adams
In Consideration of the Letter Abigail Adams to John Adams, 31 March 1776 :

History 1301/Section 4001
Professor Olivier
October 1, 2017
1. Who wrote the document? The letter Abigail Adams to John Adams, 31 March 1776 is a
correspondence written by a passionate and intelligent woman named Abigail Adamsto her
husband, John Adams, while he is away from home serving as a delegate from Massachusets at the
Second Continental Congress.1,2 Throughout the letter Abigail reveals herself to be incredibly
multi dimensional. She was an independent and hard working mother and friend.1 Sandwiched
between her pleas for longer and more frequent contact from her husband that both open and ...

In writing this document, Abigail Adams to John Adams, 31 March 1776, the author, Abigail
Adams, is trying to illustrate a desperate need for equality.1 As she has the ear and respect of a
man well placed to impact the treatment of and protections for women within the realm of the new
government, Abigail takes the opportunity to stress the importance of being more generous and
favourable to them [women] than your ancestors by taking away a man s legal control over, and
ability to be tyrannical towards, their wives.1 She cleverly illustrates the frustrating plight of
women by implicitly correlating the vexation over lack of representation that has brought her
husband to the Second Continental Congress in the first place and the potential for women to
rebel based on their own frustration over lack of representation in society.1,2 The need for
equality is not simply the explicitly stated need for equal protections of women within the
legislation of a new government, but the longing for equality within the realm of attention and
affection is also exhibited within the letter. Abigail begins her letter wishing that her husband
would ever write me a [l]etter half as long as I write you and writes in the closing paragraph that
she wants to hear much oftener from you than I do. 1 While the main purpose of the letter may not
have been to request less one sidedness in the current state of their relationship while her

Investigating Correlation Coefficient Of Correlation
a. I can use here z test for one sample proportion since I want to compare if there is a significant
difference between the sample proportion (i.e. PKU rates in that certain state) and the
population proportion (U.S. PKU rate distribution). Also since the sample size is sufficiently
large, then it does not pose any problem with the normality (since np 5). b. In this case to get the
correlational coefficient of the variable if it is ordinal, then I could use Spearman rank rho
coefficient and if it is interval or ratio level I could use the Pearson product coefficient of
correlation. In the end I can check if the correlation is statistically significant by using the t test
for significant correlation coefficient. c. I can use here t test for dependent samples (because of
the phrase before and after ), since the same group of sample will measured twice, before a
treatment, and after a treatment. Of course, we need to check if all the assumptions are met, such
as normality, equality of variance and randomness of samples. d. I can use here Chi square test of
independence. Since we want to know if there is a relationship or difference between the college
students responses to the likert question, based on their major fields of study (nutrition, nursing,
and social work) So we want to test if the two variables are dependent or independent with one
another. Assumption of Chi square must also be checked. e. Either I can compute for the mode of

Civilians Vs California
Farmers vs Civilians Envision yourself, about to complete a straightforward, everyday thing such
as washing the dishes, suddenly to your surprise there is no water coming out of the faucet. Well
for the civilians of East Porterville this is their reality. California has always had very lenient and
ineffective groundwater regulations. Today, this has become a major issue, especially with
California s severe drought. The regulation of the aquifer is a necessity because cleanliness is a
basic human right and by not regulating the groundwater and leaving civilians with no working
water, that right is taken away. The right to bathe, wash your hands, and have a working toilet is
simply no more. Furthermore there are scientific statements, proving that excessively pumping
groundwater will lower the water levels, which will likely lead to the land level sinking as well....

With no working water many have substituted, showers for Bird Baths . That includes deciding
whether to use precious water hauled from the local fire stations for the bird baths Mrs Gallegos

also a everyday dilemma some have resorted to doing their business outside. Sometimes, she
says, nodding towards her youngest child, when she needs to go, I just take her outside (Source

the worst part has been going without a shower for five months (Source 2). The lack of water
has also had a strain on people s pockets, some dive out of town to take proper showers. When it

Ernest Hemingway was an American writer. He was born in 1899 in Oak Park, Illinois. He
committed suicide in 1961 in Ketchum, Idaho (Burges 17). Even today Hemingway is one of the
most recognized authors in the world. Hemingway s experiences during World War I are directly
shown in many of his works. His general outlook on lifeis reflected in the adventures of his
characters. It is clear that Hemingwayhad a desire to be part of the war even though, due to bad
vision he was unable to enlist in the army and fight in the war. Instead he lied about his age and
went to Italy to become an ambulancedriver. While in Italy he experienced many things that he

While at post one night Hemingway was first wounded by an Austrian mortar shell, then the same
night he was further wounded by machine gun fire while he was carrying an Italian soldier to
safety. Though badly wounded his injuries were not fatal; all his injures where contained to his
legs (www.timelesshemingway.com). Hemingway spent five days in a field hospital before an
excruciating train trip to Milan. In Milan things took an upward turn when surgery was successful.
Hemingway was regarded as a hero and reported in newspapers and newsreels at home as the first
American wounded in Italy (TimelessHemingway 2). It is debatable whether this was true but no
matter, Hemingway was enjoying himself.
World War One was the setting of many of Hemingway s stories. He used his personal
experiences as their basis but enhanced them greatly. In 1929 Hemingway published A Farewell
to Arms; the novel that many critics consider to be the best ever written about World War One
(Burgess 56). It is based on Hemingway s personal experiences during the war. The main
character, Lt. Frederic Henry, is wounded, just as Hemingway was. He is hospitalized and falls in
love with a nurse. Hemingway also fell in love with his wartime nurse. But Hemingway took the
characters further than his wartime experience. He created action from later experiences. He was
very good at putting things together. He made up whatever he needed to suit his purposes
(Hemingway 87). If the actual events worked, he stuck

Optimization Technique for Feature Selection and Classification Using Support Vector Machine
Abstract Classification problems often have a large number of features in the data sets, but only
some of them are useful for classification. Data Mining Performance gets reduced by Irrelevant and
redundant features. Feature selection aims to choose a small number of relevant features to achieve
similar or even better classification performance than using all features. It has two main objectives
are maximizing the classification performance and minimizing the number of features. Moreover,
the existing feature selection algorithms treat the task as a single objective problem. Selecting
attribute is done by the combination of attribute evaluator and search method using WEKA
Machine Learning Tool. We compare SVM classification algorithm to automatically classify the
data using selected features with different standard dataset.

The Myth Of The Divine Comedy
The traditional myths stories of legends, undying divine beings, and horrific creatures have been
the wellsprings of numerous books, films, plays, and art. Today hordes of books, both scholarly and
standard, examine the myths their histories, conceivable sources, and impacts on a portion of the
best writers ever, including Dante Alighieri. This writer composed one of the best works ever. Each
part of The Divine Comedyhas been dissected, from the reasons, to the plots, to the statement
decisions, to the philosophical and religious implications. His utilization of established mythology
has been inventoried and talked about, but most researchers have disregarded the suggestions
coming about because of the stimulating irony of the way that this sincere religious man utilized
agnostic myths pervasively all through his clearly Christian works. Despite the fact that established
mythology in Christian works has been talked about and broke down by numerous researchers, the
oddity between the agnostic and the Christian has not been sufficiently investigated. Most usually,
investigation of the myths inside The Divine Comedy either concentrates on the imaginative
qualities the myths add to the lyrics, homes in on the ramifications of maybe a couple particular
myths, or talks about the impacts of the established artists themselves. However to completely
esteem and perceive what Dante did in his lyric, we should not just comprehend the social
responses to the myths and the individuals

My Undergraduate Work At California Polytechnic State...
I chose to do my undergraduate work at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis
Obispo. Cal Poly was affordable, strong in the sciences and well known for its Learn by Doing
philosophy. I received a phenomenal education in science and nutrition helping me feel prepared to
begin graduate studies in advanced practice nursing. Prior to Cal Poly, I planned a career in
nursing, ultimately deciding that studying nutrition at Cal Poly could provide an excellent
foundation. I found nutrition fascinating. During my maternal and child nutrition course my
passion surrounding the health and wellness of women, particularly during pregnancy, solidified. I
began finding ways to supplement my learning in this direction. As a research assistant for a
pediatric nurse practitioner, I sat in on breastfeeding support groups, consultations and researched
topics of concern for new mothers. Some women had been advised to avoid certain foods while
breastfeeding in order to prevent and treat colic symptoms. As a nutrition major, I am interested in
diet modifications as therapies but also aware of the challenges women are facing to meet the
current breastfeeding recommendations. Worried dietary exclusions may not be evidence based
and could contribute to breastfeeding avoidance, I began researching to find the answers. With the
support of my senior project advisor, Dr. Swadener, I dug into the clinic trials. I found some success
in treating infantile colic with a maternal hypoallergenic

The Life of Jesus

Jesus the Author of the Old and the New Most assuredly, Jesus was not only the author of salvation
but also the author of history, mankind and creation alike. Many people see two different God?s of
the bible, the Old Testament God that enveloped justice and judgment of sin and the New Testament
God that embodied mercy, truth and grace. What many don?t realize is that both the New
Testament and Old Testament God are one in the same. The Jesusof the New Testament is the God
of the Old Testament1. There are five ways in which the Old Testament testifies of Jesus which are

This is a picture of the way in which God the father and Jesus worked together through the power
of the spirit. All three are in unison with each other, God the father being the source, Jesus being
the spoken Word or Manifestation and the Holy Spirit being the power. Essentially, Jesus is the
spokesperson for the God family.
Going back to the Old Testament, any time God ?Spoke? it was in fact ?the Word? whom was
speaking the will of the Father. In first John 1:18 Jesus says ?No one has seen God at any time.
The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the father, He has declared Him.? (nkjv). Here
Jesus is stating that He has been the one who has declared the father, Jesus is affirming Himself
as the Word or declaration of God the Father. In an article written by Erik Jones he states that ?He
(Jesus) has always been responsible for communication the will of the Father to human beings ?
during Old Testament and New Testament times. When Gods voice or revelation was given, it was
through the Word who became Jesus Christ or an angel. The father has never spoken directly with
Human beings3?. What this means is that anytime God the Father wanted to accomplish something
He ?Spoke? it into being, and anytime there was and exchange from the Father to creation or vice
versa it all went through His Word, or in other words, through Jesus.
It has been said before that if someone wants to know God that person must read His Word, or
know His Word. Well if Jesus is

Affirmitive Action In The College Admissions Process Essay
Every year millions of high school seniors apply to colleges and universities across the country.
Some get in, some don t. These schools have strict policies on the criteria for the acceptance of
such students. The criteria involve many aspects of a student s prior academic career, such as their
academic standing, extra curricular activities and work ethic. These are criteria that put everyone on
the same level because everyone has the ability to work harder or join more athletics. However, no
one can change the color of their skin, and colleges base their admissionson these variables as well.
So racism, in a sense, affects even the most basic of human ideals, education. If all men are truly

This is due to the racism they experienced many years ago. As a result programs called affirmative
action have been implemented to make sure that people of a skin color other than that of white are
given equal opportunities, when in fact all these programs do is make it unfair to others.
Perhaps the most important individual event ever to effect affirmative action in schools was
passed by the Supreme Court in 1978. The Supreme Court Justice at the time, Lewis Powell,
found the attainment of a diverse student body as a constitutionally permissible goal for a
university exercising its educational judgement. He also found in the case that race was one
factor contributing to diversity. This all started when Allan Bakke, a white male, sued the
University of California, for what he claimed was an unfair practice. His grievance with the
school was that the medical school held 16 positions open solely for minority applicants. The
Supreme Court agreed with Bakke that utilizing a specific quota to achieve diversity violated
Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. Powell noted that race could be considered a quot;plus, quot; in
addition to other academically relevant factors, in making admissions decisions. The Court in
Bakke, however, was deeply split: six different Justices filed opinions, and none of these opinions
won the support of a majority. Powell s opinion has been looked upon as the quot;swing vote, quot;
given that he joined in other

The Importance Of Wealth In The Life Of The Society
Wealth is freedom to do as one wishes, without being tied to owing all their life, the idea of
having carefree life of pleasure and fame. It is the admiration, regardless of the flaws that one
might have, it is an illusion. The idea of riches, is the artificially created concept of happiness, that
drives people to being more productive and useful as the members of the society.
The works that have inadvertently interconnected is their themes are happiness, psychology,
productive labour and freedom verses slavery. As what psychologically drives people to work
harder and better, as nothing else, is the unconscious desire to be a freer man. The best way to
motivate people, is giving them loan, that would provide the life they want, but at the same time
restrict their freedom to the extent, where they have no other choice but to contribute to the
society, pay taxes and work. Observationally, it is evident, that people are psychological slaves to
their desires, and exactly this desire, to have more than one needs, or to be someone that one is
not, such as admiration for the rich and famous, is easily manipulated by big corporations today.
Although Smith claims that the money do not carry value, when they are not used to purchase
anything, and of course could end up losing its value, but what it gives is the security, as the goods
do not always give the freedom and security, as they do not guarantee the freedom, but the purchase
of those goods, is what secures the position of

Symptoms And Treatment Of Acute Pharyngitis
Introduction
According to American Family Physician (2009), acute pharyngitis is a common upper respiratory
tract infection seen in the pediatric population, with most children averaging five sore throats
within a year in the United States. Pharyngitis is the inflammation of the mucosa lining the
structure of the throat including the tonsils, pharynx, uvula, soft palate, and nasopharynx (Burns,
Dunn, Brady, Starr, Blosser, p. 715, 2013). Acute pharyngitis can be caused by both virusand
bacteria microorganisms. About 40 to 60% of acute pharyngitis is of a viral origin (Burns et al.,
2013). Adenovirus is the most common virus associated with acute pharyngitis. Although, there are
other associated viruses, which includes Epstein Barr virus (EBV), cytomegalovirus, influenza
virus, parainfluenza, herpes simplex virus, enterovirus, and human immunodeficiency virus (Burns
et al., 2013). There are some common bacterial organisms that are associated with pharyngitis
which includes Streptococcus pyogens (group A streptococcus), Corynbacterium diphtheria,
Arcanobacterium haemolyticum, Neisseria gonorrhoeare, group C and group G streptocococci, and
Mycoplasma pneumonia (Burns et al., 2013). Streptococcus pyogens accounts for 15 to 30 percent
of pharyngitis in children, with group A beta hemolytic streptococcus being the most common cause
in children (Burns et. al., 2013). The bacteria is mostly transmitted through the respiratory route

Examples Of Satire In The Butter Battle Book
Satire of The Butter Battle Book.
Dr. Seuss, an amazing writer who showed the world of satire and literature to all ages. Books
such as The Lorax, The Foot book and The Butter Battle Book are perfect examples of that.
Seuss, a man known for his creative vision and use of words, made these books a satire gold
mine! We already know about his rhymes but Seuss was also extremely good at using
exaggeration. Don t forget his amazing use of onomatopoeias or his profound use of repetition. I
could go on forever but the fact is Dr Seuss and his creative mind has an amazing talent for using
satire to make his books come to life. To make his books stick around for so long and to open the
minds of his reader to the world of satire and the amazing world of literature.
This creative talent is most clearly shown by the uses of exaggeration all throughout the book
The Butter Battle. Whether it s the fact that these two races are fighting over what side they
butter their bread. Or the fact that each side believes one is worse because of that fact. No
matter where you look in this book, there will always be a use of exaggeration! One being, So
you cant trust a Zook who spreads his bread underneath! Every Zook must be watched! He has
kinks in his soul! (Seuss). This quote is a perfect example of exaggeration, it s very obvious that
no one would have kinks in their soul because of how they butter their bread. Or that every Zook
has to be watched! Another great example would be the line, I ll blow you up he yelled, into
pork and wee beans (Seuss). Now we all know that you cant blow someone up into pork and wee
beans! It s just physically impossible but that doesn t stop Dr. Seuss from using it and using it
effectively. To sum this all up, it s very easy to see that exaggeration is just one of the few pieces
of satire Dr. Seuss uses. But it is used extremely effective and makes the reader more interested and
gives them a few laughs in the process!
In addition to exaggeration, Seuss has an incredible knack for using repetition that makes the
reader more engaged. Makes the reader want to see what that next funky word will be, what goofy
sentence will follow. This simple piece of satire has immense power! With just a few

Keeping A Healthy Lifestyle On Food Intake
Introduction Our bodies need certain things in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Food is a
key ingredient to helping sustain our health throughout our life. When looking at our diet, we
need to look beyond total calories consumed. Instead, we need to break the foods down into the
different molecules that provide our body the proper nutrients to thrive and grow.
Macronutrients are required by our bodies to properly function, and are needed for growth and
energy. These macronutrients consist of proteins, lipids, and carbohydrates which we obtain
from the foods we eat. Tracking food intake is one way to analyze how food consumption meets,
exceeds or falls short of recommended values. Through behavior modification and small,
specific goals, positive dietary changes can help maintain long term health. Proteins are the
building blocks of our bodies. From DNA to muscles, protein is a major part of our bodies.
Protein is found in meats, poultry, dairy, nuts, and fish. Each gram of protein we eat consists of
4 calories. Proteins are made up of amino acids, known as the building blocks of proteins. There
are 20 amino acids, 9 of which are essential, since they are only obtained from the food in our
diet. The other 11 amino acids are considered non essential because our bodies have the ability to
create these amino acids. Lipids, or fats, are important to our bodies. Lipids in our diet come from
foods such as meats, nuts, dairy and oils. Each gram

English As A Second Or Foreign Language Essay
As the world s economy globalizes, English becomes the first priority language among the foreign
languages in most non English speaking countries, including China. In China, there is a boost of
English learning and teaching (Sun, 2013). More and more Chinese people learn English as a
second or foreign language. However, according to a survey of China s language situation that was
conducted in 2006, only 1.8% of English learners in China claimed to be able to act as interpreters
on formal occasions, 3.53% to converse quite fluently, 15.61% to conduct daily conversations (Wei
Su, 2012). This indicated that only a few English learners in China can speak English fluently and
that many English learners do not have the ability to engage in daily interactions. The education in
China is exam oriented, but most of the tests emphasize testing students mastery of the reading and
language forms while overlooking assessing students speaking abilities (Wei, 2012). And teachers
tend to give students practices of the knowledge that are to be tested in the exams. Therefore, many
English teachers in China tend to ignore English speaking and they give few opportunities for their
students to practice their speaking abilities (Wang, 2014). In China, English language teaching still
focuses heavily on language knowledge, not language skills, with the former being defined in terms
of grammar and vocabulary and being taught predominantly in the mother tongue and through

first put into use many businesses to include grocery stores, box stores, and outlet stores began to
watch with a very close eye. It was known that consumers wanted the ability to go into a store and
take their time and not feel rushed, that is until they were ready to checkout. Stores have found that
after the normal consumer is finished selecting the items that they are going to purchase on a given
day that they want to quickly proceed through checkout lines (S. Dudley, personal interview, August
15, 2008). Providing consumers with the ability to do this in effect increases the level of consumer
happiness which in return increases the chances a particular consumer will return in the future to
purchase more items, resulting in increased sales volume. Kiosks have had both positive and
negative effects on businesses; however the positive gains from having kiosks have superseded
those negative effects. If this was not true the market for self checkout kiosks would be
diminishing, not flourishing as it

Learning Style for Student Nurses
In this essay I will be discussing the importance of understanding learning styles for student nurses.
I will also be focusing on the learning cycle and learning style using the Honey and Mumford 80
questionnaire. I look into the details of how learning style helps students to understand the
importance of recognising one s learningstyle preference. I will also provide an understanding of
learning and learning theories and discuss my own dominant learning style and how I aim to deal
with my weaknesses to progress well in the nursing programme.
Learning is defined as a permanent change in attitude or behaviour that occurs as a result of
repeated experience (Sims Sims, 1995). Understanding one s learning style has many advantages as

The behaviourist approach, used by Pavlov and Skinner (1927 and 1952 cited in Gould, 2009),
established that learning is change in behaviour brought about by experience. Studies and research
have proven that we can voluntarily and involuntary respond to certain stimuli, and what we have
learnt from previous experience. Such associative behaviour can condition our response to our way
of learning and shape our learning style (Yildirim Ozkahraman, 2011). Once we have recognised
the most predominant learning style we are able to work out how to strengthen the weaker learning
style and enhance the dominant. Cottrell (2013) stated that discovering which learning style is best
for us can help our learning in the most effective way.
There are four stages to the learning cycle, which are included in the four distinct learning styles.
The first stage is having an experience reactively, which allows the experience to come to us
without making much effort to seek it, in contrast to proactively whereby we seek out the
experience. The second stage is reviewing or reflecting on the experience. Reflecting on
experience is vital and it plays an important role in learning. The third stage is concluding from the
experience and lastly planning the next steps to enable the learner to have an action plan for what
is required to be done (Honey and Mumford 2006). There is a strong connection between learning
style and learning

Boston Avalanche Case Study
A recovery effort to get the bodies of two missing snowshoers from Boston will have to wait
until Friday because of poor weather conditions and the high avalanche risk in Canada. Rescuers
have found the pair s car and tracks that go into the avalanche area, which is about two hours
north of Calgary. Three years ago, a Martha Vineyard s man survived an avalanche on Mt.
Washington and the news of the two missing snowshoers is reminding him of how lucky he was.
I just remember the whole horizon in front of me gave away, it was very disorienting. Everything
in my field of vision was moving, said Conor Lodge. Lodge and his friend plummeted nearly 800
feet down Tuckerman Ravine. i was surfing the avalanche and I stopped myself on a bush,

Listeriosis
Listeriosis is a serious invasive disease that predominantly affects pregnant women, newborns and
immunocompromised adults. The causative organism, Listeria monocytogenes, is primarily
transmitted to humans through contaminated foods. Outbreaks of listeriosis have been reported
throughout the globe, most notably in North America, Europe and Japan.
The public health importance of listeriosis is not adequately recognized, especially since
listeriosis is a relatively rare disease compared with other common foodborne illnesses such as
salmonellosis or botulism. However, due to its severity and high case fatality rate, listeriosis ranks
among the most frequent causes of death due to foodborne illness second after salmonellosis.
Prevalence and incidence of the disease
Listeriosis has a low incidence rate, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The standout outbreak of listeriosis in the United States occurred in 2011, which was traced back to
contaminated cantaloupes that resulted in 142 hospitalizations and 33 deaths. From August 2008 to
December 2008, 22 people died in the 2008 Canadian listeriosis outbreak.
A wide range of food products have been associated with the transmission of listeriosis, primarily
milk and dairy products, meat products (cooked chicken, pate, rillettes, sausages, salami),
vegetables (coleslaw and rice salads, celery, alfalfa) and, in a lesser degree, fish products (smoked
fish, shellfish, shrimp). Generally, these foods have extended shelf life, do not require further
cooking and support the growth of the bacterium.
Listeria monocytogenes most frequently associated with listeriosis cases belong to serotypes 1/2a,
1/2b, and 4b. Epidemiological monitoring studies employ different genotyping techniques, with
pulse field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) as the golden standard due to its discrimination and
reproducibility for molecular sub typing of this

Liberation Ideology Essay
Liberty and Equality for All
Oppression and discrimination has existed and continues to exist in the past, present, and future
history of the United States. The mistreatment of particular groups infringe on the idea that all
individuals are free and equal. Liberation ideology strives to eliminate external and internal
oppression of particular groups in both a formal and informal method in our legal system and
society. This ideology believes in the freedom and equality of the individual. Similar to welfare
liberalism, strong government interaction is necessary to eliminate oppression in the legal system.
In our current bipartisan ideological government system, liberation ideology continues to face
oppression and discrimination. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, liberation ideology can fully thrive in a liberal democracy that promotes individual
freedom and equal opportunity giving equal rights to all individuals without infringing on the rights
of others. Welfare liberals utilize strong government interaction to bring about change in society, in
which liberation theology strives to eliminate formal discrimination by creating or ratifying legal
policies. Welfare liberals work well with liberation ideology because they believe in the necessity
for strong government intervention to aid individuals who do not have equal opportunity to reach
their full individual freedom. The liberation ideology utilizes the government to make political
moves to overcome the oppression and discrimination. For example, black liberation movements,
women liberation movements, and gay liberation movements all formally made changes in the
political system to eliminate the inequality and to bring about liberation. Black liberation
movements banned racial discrimination and segregation in the workplace and in public places
during the Civil Rights Movement with the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and 1968, as well as the
Voting Rights Act of 1965. These legal movements allowed blacks to gain power to assimilate

  • 2. Caveat Emptor Sales of Good Act Implied Terms Essay The Latin principle of caveat emptor literally meaning let the buyer beware, has been followed for many years by the English courts in the context of business transactions. Pre the industrial revolution the action for breach of contractual rights needed a written warranty otherwise action could only be brought on the grounds of fraud. The reasoning for such action was based on the manner in which business was conducted, that is, namely at small fairs where buyers could inspect the goods and haggle accordingly. This is evidenced in cases such as Chandelor v Lopus in which a plaintiff brought an action against the defendant in relation to a Bezoar stone which was thought to have medicinal properties. In this instance, the majority of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was this mergence that saw Lord Mansfield becoming known as the founder of commercial law within this country [United Kingdom] , due to his ability to harmonise commercial custom and the common law ...with an almost complete understanding of the commercial community, and the fundamental principles of the old law and that that marriage of idea proved acceptable to both merchants and lawyers. At this stage, the principle of caveat emptor was utilised as a guiding principle for the courts, devised namely in response to the manner in which business at this time was undertaken. This was in response to the manner in which business was conducted, namely in small fairs with small quantities of goods being bought and sold, buyers were afforded the opportunity to inspect the goods and use their own knowledge and skill to determine whether or not to purchase them. As such, it was the buyer s responsibility to ensure that due diligence was observed at the time of purchase. Failing to inspect the goods resulted in the cost would be lost if the goods purchased were not what was wanted. In this context protection for buyers was to a certain extent non existent. The only way in which a seller could be held liable was in circumstances where a written warranty was issued or if the case was considered to be one of false affirmation. Cases of false affirmation occurred where the buyer was convinced to buy something by the false statements of the seller; ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Manet s Atlantia In Briony Fer s discussion of the formation of modern art, she invites us to view the problematic character of the modern art as a form of difference or incoherence (21,27). In this paper, I will delineate her argument within the framework of Manet s Olympia and then add more dimensions to the controversies involved in understanding Olympia by drawing upon T.J. Clark s criticism and Manet s own voice. We will see that while Fer locates the painting within a dynamic current engaged in dialogues with both the past and the future, Clark cares less about the time flow than about the system of meaning determinant within its contemporary social political context. Manet himself, however, is rather oblivious to the historically critical position... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As she defines the modern as a difference cultivated in the practice of art (21), in order to maker her point, her analysis of Olympia dwells upon the conflicts between the painting and the artistic conventions. She makes it clear that the incoherence occurs at two closely related levels, namely the level of technique and the level of subject matter (27). With regard to the former, it seems that Manet invokes the tradition of nude just so he can discard it. There is a lack of compliance...with a tradition of painting of the nude, in which the nude female body was offered for contemplation in an idealized form , and such departure from the technical convention of art making further enables the construction of conflicts at the narrative level (Fer, 24): Olympia exhibits sharp control over her own sexuality in an almost shameless way, yet the disgraceful defiance is diluted by the rich material embellishment, the classicized title and the allegorical poem. She is a classless prostitute (for any reference to class dissolves into the shadowy classical traditions invoked), but is a mysterious goddess at the same time. The disregard of artistic practice combined with the ambiguous iconography leads to a further level of incoherence of meaning or representation, which Fer seems to think, illustrates the difference that proclaims modern art as a new phenomenon in its own ... • 4. Industrial Workers During The Gilded Age Similar to the farmers during the Gilded Age, industrial workers combatted poor working conditions, child labor, low wages, and long hours by forming labor unions and organizing strikes, ending as a massive failure. Early in the industrial era, there was no minimum wage, leaving it up to the factory owners to set the rate at which their workers were to be paid. Some owners did not pay their employees in cash but in company scrip which could be redeemed at the company store. For example, in Pullman, Illinois and in Hershey, Pennsylvania, the towns were owned by corporations, the Pullman Palace Car Company and the Hershey Company respectively, so their workers would receive vouchers to spend at the company store instead of hard cash.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Initially a fraternal organization providing social events, sporting competitions, and education for working men and their families, the Knights of Labor soon advocated for the creation of cooperatives where members would serve as worker owners who have input on the running of factories in hopes of making changes for the better of the working man. The Knights of Labor believed that the alarming development and aggression of aggregated wealth, which, unless checked, will inevitably lead to the pauperization and hopeless degradation of the toiling masses could only be stopped through the unification of labor . The Knights were open to all producers including skilled and unskilled workers and owners as well as women and African Americans. Bankers, doctors, liquor manufacturers, lawyers, and stockholders were excluded because of their supposed lack in productive contribution to society. The union advocated for a national eight hour workday, the expulsion of Asian workers, the prohibition of immigration from the Far East, and an end to child labor. The Knights worked to make changes for all workers, regardless of affiliation with the group, and opposed strikes and boycotts. • 6. Lucretius Writing on the Fear of Death Essay At the most basic level of subconscious thought, every living animal possesses a desire to stay alive. Usually, this instinct lays dormant, although in dire situations, we can be led to do unexpected things. In addition to this subconscious drive, there is a socially constructed motivation for fearing death. Thanks to the pervasive nature of religion throughout history, much of humanity has, at some point or another, feared the prospect of eternal damnation and torture during one s life after death. Although not every religion has a negative aspect of the afterlife, or even any semblance of an afterlife at all, those religions which do contain some such construct receive much more attention in this regard. Throughout history, many... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In On the Nature of Things, Lucretius argues that not only is the whole of the human body (both tangible parts, like organs, and intangible concepts, like the soul) created from distinct types of atoms, but that this is the basis upon which an afterlife may be disproved. One of the principle tenets of atomism is that the atoms people are comprised of provide the basis for physical sensations we might experience, such as heat, touch, smell, et cetera. Lucretius provides the corollary to this view by noting that without some mechanism for processing these input data, we would not smell things, or might burn our hands in a fire. This cognition of external stimuli is one of the key functions of the soul atoms which permeate our bodies. The soul, Lucretius says, is comprised of four distinct types of atoms: breath, heat, air, and a fourth, unnamed variety, which is more mobile than the other three (3.231). The presence of these soul atoms can be proved by observing a person s reactions to various ailments; sickness afflicts both the body and the mind, for example, demonstrating that they are intrinsically linked. In addition, because sensation may occur at any point in or on the body, the soul must be distributed completely and evenly throughout oneself. Atomism says that no atoms are ever created or destroyed, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, is it a real community? Web sites and social mobile apps are popular and necessary for people to connect over the world, so website designers and mobile programmers get high salaries. Thus, we cannot deny that virtual communityis a real community because of three advantages: supporting users to get what they need, providing the sense of stability, and accepting us for who we are. First of all, a virtual community becomes a real community by serving people s needs. • 14. Symbolism In Esperanza Rising Esperanza Ortega of El Rancho de las Rosas is a young Hispanic girl that must overcome strenuous obstacles in order to help her family. The novel Esperanza Rising by Pam MuГ±oz Ryan has many symbols that contribute to the theme, but one of the major motifs present is the process of crocheting the quilt. This symbol lasts throughout the entire book, but the message only gets stronger for this symbol goes hand in hand with the storyline. Esperanza is an only child in her family, and during this time it was not acceptable for womanto own land. When Esperanza s papa gets killed there were no other men in the family, so the land that Esperanza had grew up on and loved would soon all be taken away, unless her mama sacrificers herself and marries the rude brother of Esperanza s papa. This idea of men owning land is one main reason why Esperanza s family must migrate to California. If Esperanza was male, this story would not exist because the land would be given to her. Since Esperanza is a female, the story has a complication in the plot that needs to be overcame. This is the first obstacle that Esperanza must triumph over: leaving home to somewhere unknown. Throughout the book Esperanza, mama, and abuelita work on crocheting a quilt. The crocheting of this quilt has a special process that relates greatly to the journey Esperanza takes. In order to crochet like abuelita you must add ten stitches up to the top of the mountain. Add one stitch. Nine stitches down to the bottom of the valley. Skip one (MuГ±oz Ryan 14). During the novelEsperanza has to climb to the top of mountains and go down to the bottom of valleys in order to complete her journey. The novel begins with Esperanza at the top of a beautiful mountain, but when her papa dies, her house gets burned down, abuelita getting hurt, and they have to migrate to California Esperanza is at the lowest point in the valley. She sees all that is ahead, but in her eyes it is a huge mountain that needs to be climbed. This will be a long strenuous journey with many more obstacles, but Esperanza is stronger than she knows. Black goes further by explaining the implementation of this ideal, saying Now who did they want to wipe away? They wanted to wipe away Mexicans, Italians. They wanted to wipe away the Asians the Jews, those who they believed were feeble minded, the Deaf, the poor. The Oxford University Press defines eugenics as the science of improving a human population by controlled breeding to increase the occurrence of desirable heritable characteristics with a further and rather illuminating explanation which states, Developed largely by Francis Galton as a method of improving the human race, it fell into disfavor only after the perversion of its doctrines by the Nazis . 2.What did you learn exactly from Edwin Black that you may have not learned in American History? If I had been asked when eugenics began in practice, I would likely have pointed at Nazi era Europe prior to seeing Edwin Black s presentation. In writing this document, Abigail Adams to John Adams, 31 March 1776, the author, Abigail Adams, is trying to illustrate a desperate need for equality.1 As she has the ear and respect of a man well placed to impact the treatment of and protections for women within the realm of the new government, Abigail takes the opportunity to stress the importance of being more generous and favourable to them [women] than your ancestors by taking away a man s legal control over, and ability to be tyrannical towards, their wives.1 She cleverly illustrates the frustrating plight of women by implicitly correlating the vexation over lack of representation that has brought her husband to the Second Continental Congress in the first place and the potential for women to rebel based on their own frustration over lack of representation in society.1,2 The need for equality is not simply the explicitly stated need for equal protections of women within the legislation of a new government, but the longing for equality within the realm of attention and affection is also exhibited within the letter. Abigail begins her letter wishing that her husband would ever write me a [l]etter half as long as I write you and writes in the closing paragraph that she wants to hear much oftener from you than I do. 1 While the main purpose of the letter may not have been to request less one sidedness in the current state of their relationship while her ... In this case to get the correlational coefficient of the variable if it is ordinal, then I could use Spearman rank rho coefficient and if it is interval or ratio level I could use the Pearson product coefficient of correlation. In the end I can check if the correlation is statistically significant by using the t test for significant correlation coefficient. c. Hemingway also fell in love with his wartime nurse. But Hemingway took the characters further than his wartime experience. He created action from later experiences. He was very good at putting things together. He made up whatever he needed to suit his purposes (Hemingway 87). If the actual events worked, he stuck ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Optimization Technique for Feature Selection and Classification Using Support Vector Machine Abstract Classification problems often have a large number of features in the data sets, but only some of them are useful for classification. Data Mining Performance gets reduced by Irrelevant and redundant features. Feature selection aims to choose a small number of relevant features to achieve similar or even better classification performance than using all features. It has two main objectives are maximizing the classification performance and minimizing the number of features. Moreover, the existing feature selection algorithms treat the task as a single objective problem. Selecting attribute is done by the combination of attribute evaluator and search method using WEKA Machine Learning Tool. We compare SVM classification algorithm to automatically classify the data using selected features with different standard dataset. Index Terms Data Mining, Kernel methods, Support Vector Machine , WEKA, Classification. . пЃµ 1 INTRODUCTION S upport Vector Machine (SVM) was first described in 1992, introduced by Boser, Guyon, and Vapnik. Support vector machines (SVMs) are a set of related supervised learning methods used for classification and regression [1]. They belong to a family of linear classifiers. Today hordes of books, both scholarly and standard, examine the myths their histories, conceivable sources, and impacts on a portion of the best writers ever, including Dante Alighieri. This writer composed one of the best works ever. Each part of The Divine Comedyhas been dissected, from the reasons, to the plots, to the statement decisions, to the philosophical and religious implications. His utilization of established mythology has been inventoried and talked about, but most researchers have disregarded the suggestions coming about because of the stimulating irony of the way that this sincere religious man utilized agnostic myths pervasively all through his clearly Christian works. Despite the fact that established mythology in Christian works has been talked about and broke down by numerous researchers, the oddity between the agnostic and the Christian has not been sufficiently investigated. Most usually, investigation of the myths inside The Divine Comedy either concentrates on the imaginative qualities the myths add to the lyrics, homes in on the ramifications of maybe a couple particular myths, or talks about the impacts of the established artists themselves. Cal Poly was affordable, strong in the sciences and well known for its Learn by Doing philosophy. I received a phenomenal education in science and nutrition helping me feel prepared to begin graduate studies in advanced practice nursing. Prior to Cal Poly, I planned a career in nursing, ultimately deciding that studying nutrition at Cal Poly could provide an excellent foundation. I found nutrition fascinating. During my maternal and child nutrition course my passion surrounding the health and wellness of women, particularly during pregnancy, solidified. I began finding ways to supplement my learning in this direction. As a research assistant for a pediatric nurse practitioner, I sat in on breastfeeding support groups, consultations and researched topics of concern for new mothers. Some women had been advised to avoid certain foods while breastfeeding in order to prevent and treat colic symptoms. As a nutrition major, I am interested in diet modifications as therapies but also aware of the challenges women are facing to meet the current breastfeeding recommendations. Worried dietary exclusions may not be evidence based and could contribute to breastfeeding avoidance, I began researching to find the answers. With the support of my senior project advisor, Dr. Swadener, I dug into the clinic trials. I found some success in treating infantile colic with a maternal hypoallergenic ... In first John 1:18 Jesus says ?No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the father, He has declared Him.? (nkjv). In an article written by Erik Jones he states that ?He (Jesus) has always been responsible for communication the will of the Father to human beings ? during Old Testament and New Testament times. When Gods voice or revelation was given, it was through the Word who became Jesus Christ or an angel. The father has never spoken directly with Human beings3?. What this means is that anytime God the Father wanted to accomplish something He ?Spoke? it into being, and anytime there was and exchange from the Father to creation or vice versa it all went through His Word, or in other words, through Jesus. As a result programs called affirmative action have been implemented to make sure that people of a skin color other than that of white are given equal opportunities, when in fact all these programs do is make it unfair to others. Perhaps the most important individual event ever to effect affirmative action in schools was passed by the Supreme Court in 1978. The Supreme Court Justice at the time, Lewis Powell, found the attainment of a diverse student body as a constitutionally permissible goal for a university exercising its educational judgement. He also found in the case that race was one factor contributing to diversity. This all started when Allan Bakke, a white male, sued the University of California, for what he claimed was an unfair practice. His grievance with the school was that the medical school held 16 positions open solely for minority applicants. The Supreme Court agreed with Bakke that utilizing a specific quota to achieve diversity violated Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. Powell noted that race could be considered a quot;plus, quot; in addition to other academically relevant factors, in making admissions decisions. No matter where you look in this book, there will always be a use of exaggeration! One being, So you cant trust a Zook who spreads his bread underneath! Every Zook must be watched! He has kinks in his soul! (Seuss). This quote is a perfect example of exaggeration, it s very obvious that no one would have kinks in their soul because of how they butter their bread. Food is a key ingredient to helping sustain our health throughout our life. When looking at our diet, we need to look beyond total calories consumed. Instead, we need to break the foods down into the different molecules that provide our body the proper nutrients to thrive and grow. Macronutrients are required by our bodies to properly function, and are needed for growth and energy. These macronutrients consist of proteins, lipids, and carbohydrates which we obtain from the foods we eat. Tracking food intake is one way to analyze how food consumption meets, exceeds or falls short of recommended values. Through behavior modification and small, specific goals, positive dietary changes can help maintain long term health. Proteins are the building blocks of our bodies.
