CIVIL AVIATION AUTHORITY (APRIL 2014 – JULY 2014)
Main Activities:
Worked as a graduate trainee in the Communications, Navigation and Surveillance department where I worked on
a research and development project that aimed to automate the way temperature readings were obtained from the
CAA equipment shelters around the country, as well as automate the air condition switchover functionality at
these shelters. We used Linux based microprocessors as well as a 3G private APN connection for this purpose.
At the end of the project, I presented the work I did to the department heads and demonstrated to them a working
prototype of the system.
Skills gained:
Research and development skills
Linux Operating system commands as well as shell scripting since all the programing of the system had to be
done through the Linux terminal.
I became a better team player because the nature of the work required collaboration with different people in the
department.
