ABOUT THE INSTITUTION
Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College
established in the year 1994 by SNR Sons
Charitable Trust has grown into an eminent
Institution in Tamilnadu. The College has
been awarded Autonomous Status for all UG
and PG courses by UGC from 2007.The
college campus has an admirable
infrastructure with all state of art facilities and
well-equipped laboratories. The college has
signed MoU with various major corporate as
an initiative towards industry institution
interaction.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Objective of Electronics and
Communication Engineering department is to
enable the students attain excellence in the
different domain technologies of Electronics
and Communication. B.E., ECE programme is
accredited by NBA, New Delhi for a period of
two years. The Department offers two ME
degree programme namely VLSI Design and
Embedded System Technologies with
curriculum focusing on the requirements
specified by the industries.
The department is recognized as a
research center with all computing facilities
State-of-the-art Laboratories, and efficient
teaching faculty with well stacked department
Library.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
Many wireless network in operation
today were designed as networks of
convenience for conference rooms and are
now struggling to support the number of
wireless devices and its applications. They are
evolving at a rapid pace, making it
increasingly difficult to future proof the
network. This workshop is designed to help
people to create an overall strategy to address
the gap between their current wireless
network deployment and the requirements for
the future.
OPNET is very important tool for
research, over a wide variety of networks. It
is widely used across both academia and
industries as a tool for designing, testing and
evaluating new as well as existing protocols,
architectures. OPNET Modeler is a large and
complex software package. This workshop
will cover features which are important in
getting started with OPNET Modeler for
research. This workshop is targeted towards
participants, from academia, research student,
industry, and those interested in simulation of
network using OPNET.
THE OBJECTIVE OF WORKSHOP
It aims to provide an interactive
platform for the academicians/industrial
personnel in imparting and dissipating the
latest technological advances in wireless area
and to promote research interest in network
security among students and research
community.This technically excellent
program bridges the gap between college
curriculum and Industry demand.
COURSE CONTENTS
• Introduction to research issues in
wireless networks.
• Sources of security leaks & stealing
informations.
• Various protocols used for security in
Wireless networks.
• Introduction to OPNET modeler
• Create models of networks using
existing models
• Simulation of various protocols using
OPNET.
RESOURCE PERSONS
Sessions will be handled by senior
academicians from reputed institutions.
REGISTRATION DETAILS
Registration fee in the form of DD for Rs.
600/- to be drawn in favour of “The
Principal, Sri Ramakrishna Engineering
College” payable at Coimbatore.
The registration form is to be sent along
with the DD to the Coordinators on or before
10.10.2015.(Fee includes workshop kit, lunch
& refreshment)
