1. Carrying out projects for machining of the new model crank shaft
components and production capacity expansion of existing
components by installing machining facility of critical engine
components Crank and Cam shaft.
The scope of work includes:
- Detail study and understanding of finish part drawing and the
requirement of assembly.
- Identifying the processes involved in machining of Crank and Cam
shaft.
- Making BOP, Line layout.
- Making specifications of machines for optimum use of machines.
- Getting quotations from machine makers based on the specifications
and RFQ provided to them.
- Selection of maker.
- Carrying out Design Approval Process.
- Placing of purchase order for machines.
- Follow up with machine maker for carrying out the activities on
schedule.
- Installation and commissioning of machine as per Fiat and SMC
standards.
- Start of Mass production.
- Monitoring and taking countermeasure of the problems if the machine
efficiency is low.
2. Production engineering in charge for crank and cam shaft lines.
- Regular monitoring of problems faced in machines and solving process
related problems by applying technical knowledge.
- Discussing with maker to solve problems faced in machine and if
required getting services on site.
- Productivity improvement by cycle time reduction, machine
breakdown reduction and rejection reduction.
- Indentifying & carrying out activities for cost reduction.
- Process standardization.
